They discussed the high expectations for a double-digit win season, the strategic difficulty of a mid-season stretch against the Packers and Eagles, and more.

00:00All right, so it's a ridiculous exercise, but it's also super fun.
00:06The NFL schedule is out.
00:08So 877-881-1053, Frankel and Frankel, Injury Attorney, Text Line, or the Twitch, or the YouTube.
00:14Give us your Cowboys record prediction, because one of the comments I saw, which I do not agree with,
00:20but I respect everyone's right to throw out their record opinions,
00:24was that the Cowboys would have a hard time winning three or four games before the bye.
00:30I do not see it that way, but again.
00:32Well, it's because you're a homer.
00:33Oh, man.
00:34Is what some people on the station would say.
00:37It's going to be so weird when I tell you I'm going with 9 and 8 or 10 and 7.
00:41People are going to be like, ah, homer.
00:44But yeah, we'll see how it goes.
00:46So 877-881-1053, if you want to jump in on that conversation,
00:51I am going to go game by game with this for you gentlemen,
00:57and you can just tell me, preferably win or lose.
01:02Now, I realize I can't take draw off the table because of what happened last time,
01:08but I'm hoping that cooler heads prevail here, and we'll see how it goes.
01:15All right.
01:16We go to the season opener at the New York Football Giants.
01:22Cowboys currently a two-and-a-half-point favorite going into that game.
01:25Corey Majors, win or lose?
01:28I think this is going to be one of those, Kevin, where you're able to run the ball.
01:32They have a good front seven.
01:34They're going to be tough.
01:35Their head coach is telling them every day they're going to be violent murderers,
01:39so that's one of the things that he keeps doing.
01:41I think it's going to be more competitive than we expect,
01:44but I do think that there's a couple of explosive plays in that offensive playbook,
01:49and this defense is really going to be wanting to show that they are new.
01:53So I'm going to go ahead and give them a dub, but I don't think it's going to be easy.
01:58Alec, win or lose?
02:01You know, speaking of explosive, Corey, you can talk about Malik Nabors and his knee.
02:06So I don't think that offense is going to be quite ready to roll in week one.
02:12He might play. He might still be there,
02:14but I don't think the Giants' offense is going to look exactly the way that it will in, say, week
02:2010.
02:20I think they're going to need some time to kind of figure some stuff out,
02:23and Jackson Dart said himself, this scheme is going to be very versatile.
02:28It's going to look different than it has in the past.
02:32So I think they have some things to figure out, and that leads to a Cowboys win.
02:36Now, following that, you get a pair of home games.
02:39Week 2, Washington. Week 3, Baltimore.
02:43Although, obviously, that's not a real home game because it's in Brazil.
02:49Brazil.
02:50And I know this is what people are concerned about this run of the schedule,
02:53is you're going to be in Brazil, and then the next week you're going to be on the road against
02:58Houston.
02:59So, Washington, fake home game against Baltimore.
03:02What say y'all?
03:05You know what?
03:06I think Washington still has some – now, Jaden will be healthy,
03:10but I just think that they still have some work to do defensively.
03:14You were able to toast and torch that team and through the air last year.
03:18I'm going to go ahead and give them a win on that one for sure.
03:21I'm giving them a win, too.
03:22I think they also have some work to do offensively, do the commanders.
03:26I just don't really see the big play ability from them.
03:31Outside of the run game here and there, you'll see it from Krosky Merritt, Bill, if you will.
03:36You'll see it from him a little bit, but I don't see the take-the-top-off,
03:41flip-the-game-upside-down ability from that offense on top of a mediocre defense.
03:46Sonny Stiles can't fix everything, so give me a win.
03:50Baltimore?
03:51As we're both 2-0 right now.
03:53Kevin, the New York and Washington games are great opportunities to learn
03:59for Caleb Downs and Malachi Lawrence how to pursue a running quarterback
04:03because Jackson Dart and Jaden Daniels are going to give you fits also,
04:06and Lamar Jackson, by the time you get to that point, not same team, dude.
04:09Not a John Harbaugh coach team.
04:11Jesse Minter's going to have some learning situations.
04:14Cowboys in Brazil run the football over the Baltimore Ravens.
04:19We are starting off 3-0, sir.
04:21Oh, my goodness gracious.
04:22That is already more wins than one person who said 1-1 in 15.
04:26Okay, we're almost there.
04:28And then not too far off from I think the Cowboys will win five games total
04:32and 2-18.
04:33I'm assuming that means they have them losing their three preseason games.
04:37Hopefully they don't have them going 2-1 in the preseason
04:40because then that would mean 0-17 in the regular season,
04:43though I guess you could get Arch Manning then if you wanted.
04:45Alec, sorry, that's a lot of information.
04:49Alec, you got the Cowboys 2-0 going to Brazil.
04:52What do we say from there?
04:54And I give them their first loss.
04:57I think the Ravens win this one because I think I might be drinking the Jesse Minter Kool-Aid
05:05more than most people.
05:06I think the world of him.
05:08I get it.
05:08I think he's incredible, and I think he's going to show that the play calling defensively
05:13was just that bad last year for Baltimore
05:16and that the sum of their pieces is more than good enough to be good.
05:21Not great.
05:22I don't think they're going to be great.
05:23They still have some holes defensively,
05:25but I think that on top of Lamar Jackson's running ability,
05:28I think it's a good game.
05:29I just don't think the Cowboys win that one.
05:32All right, we're going to have to pick it up a little bit.
05:34We're going to get Houston on the road.
05:36Loss.
05:37And then short week against Tampa.
05:39Biggest game of Houston's entire career.
05:42It's going to be a noon game against the Cowboys.
05:45And this is where the Cowboys get their first loss.
05:51I'll go ahead and do that.
05:52Short week for Tampa.
05:54Yeah, and then I think the Cowboys take down Tampa.
05:58So we're going to be 4-1 at this point.
06:00Alec, the biggest game in Texans history.
06:033-3, apparently, followed by a short week against Tampa.
06:07It's just sad.
06:07The biggest game of your history.
06:09Your franchise's history is a noon game.
06:11Wouldn't it be that first game they ever played and they beat the Cowboys?
06:14Yeah.
06:15Okay.
06:15I mean, but I'm going to have them losing.
06:17That's going to be a C.J. Stroud 3 interception game.
06:20And then Tampa Bay, I think you win that game too.
06:22I like what they did this offseason,
06:24but I think they're still trying to figure some things out offensively.
06:27Maybe the toughest back-to-back games of the season at the Packers,
06:33at the Eagles, week six and week seven.
06:36Corey, you got us at 4-1.
06:38Does the stumble begin here or no?
06:40We can't beat the Packers, dude.
06:41I don't understand it.
06:42It doesn't make any sense to me.
06:43So they're not going to be able to beat Jordan Love and the Packers in this one.
06:47And this is going to be the first opportunity for them to understand
06:50what Christian Parker's defense is, but Philadelphia does have an idea.
06:54And I think that they're going to get the best of the Cowboys in the first matchup.
06:584-3.
06:59Alec, do you also see losing streak breaking out here?
07:04I think I do.
07:05I believe in the curse of the Packers just having our number.
07:09I don't think the Packers, just talent-wise, are much better than you, if at all.
07:14But they seem to always have it figured out against us.
07:17So, yeah, I just can't see them winning that one,
07:20especially on the road at Lambeau.
07:21And then at Philly, I always see them splitting with Philly,
07:25and I always think it's the home and away split.
07:28So give me two losses there.
07:30All right.
07:31So with that, we're decidedly back to middle of the Pack.
07:34Corey at 4-3, Alec at 3-4.
07:38Sunday, November 1st, Week 8, hosting the Arizona Cardinals,
07:43and then on the road against the Colts, back-to-back noon games.
07:47I believe that is the only time it happens all season.
07:50Yes.
07:50This will be Carson Beck's first game.
07:53Oh.
07:54I like these little mini predictions here.
07:57Jacoby Brissett will be like,
07:58I'm holding out after they go like 6-1 their first few games.
08:03Jacoby Brissett, but I say Beck's starting,
08:06and Cowboys lose to Arizona as well.
08:09And they put them at 4-4.
08:10They're not a good team, but Jeremiah Love has a really good game,
08:13and that defense performs just good enough.
08:18Colts?
08:20Cowboys win.
08:21Hell, yeah.
08:22Alec?
08:24Daniel Jones is their quarterback, bro.
08:27Good point.
08:27Come on.
08:28Good point.
08:28Coming off an ACL or an Achilles or whatever it was.
08:30And he's still Daniel Jones.
08:32Damn.
08:34Hosting Arizona on the road against the Colts,
08:37only back-to-back noon games of the season for the Cowboys.
08:40God, I love noon games.
08:41So much so that I think you're going to win both of them.
08:44Oh!
08:44I think this is going to be Carson Beck's eighth game.
08:47I think he's going to start.
08:48I don't know why.
08:49Wow.
08:50I'm just in on this.
08:51Neat.
08:52I just want to see it happen so bad that I'm going to talk myself into believing it's going to
08:55happen.
08:56I like it.
08:56Even though it probably won't.
08:57So Carson Beck will have a master class in this game,
09:00but you shut down Jeremiah Love, and that's why you win this game.
09:03And then for the Colts, yeah, give me a win.
09:06I mean, I don't know what to think about them.
09:08They surprised me for enough of the season last year to where I think I have them figured out.
09:13But then you saw whenever they started playing good teams.
09:16Exactly.
09:16They weren't good.
09:17Right.
09:17Kind of like us.
09:18From the 9-7-2, 13-4, Cowboys.
09:22Stop kidding me.
09:22These idiots who say one or two wins credit.
09:25Keep in mind that one person said 1-1-15.
09:27But otherwise, the way it started, a lot of negativity right there.
09:33All right.
09:34Now you get the longest home run of the season.
09:38You've got 49ers, the Titans, and then the Eagles on Thanksgiving
09:44to close out the back-to-back-to-back home games.
09:49Corey, San Fran, Tennessee, Philadelphia, what do you say?
09:52It's tough, but you're going to be back to 5-5 as San Francisco comes into town
09:56even though they're traveling so much.
09:58But that being said, this is where you pick up consecutive victories
10:02over Cam Ward, if you will, Kevin.
10:05I've got a rookie card right here at the hand.
10:07You take one down on him because he's not ready yet.
10:10And then you also pick up your first victory against Philadelphia,
10:14making them look very bad and maybe sending them into a spiral
10:17for the rest of the season.
10:19Oh, I like that.
10:20All right.
10:21Mr. Medford, you have the Cowboys at 5-4 going into their back-to-back-to-back home game.
10:27San Francisco, Tennessee, Philly.
10:29How do we do there?
10:30I think this is where the curse of that scientific factory
10:35or whatever they got going on in Santa Clara actually reverses,
10:38and the 49ers come in superpowered, and they win.
10:41I hate that, but I think they're going to win.
10:44Then give me two wins.
10:45I think the Tennessee Titans, you're going to beat them, I won't say handedly,
10:49but I think that you'll have a good showing against them.
10:52And then on Thanksgiving, you can't lose at home.
10:54You just simply can't.
10:55But I think this is going to be that point in the season
10:58where Philly has to bring in another inflatable animal
11:00to try to appease the locker room and stuff.
11:03And then this is the game where they go back home,
11:05and somebody takes their cleat and just steps right on it and deflates it.
11:09They're like, this was stupid.
11:10What are we doing?
11:11And they have to have a players-only meeting.
11:12From the – I like that.
11:15From the 9-4-0, 9-8, we're going to start the season 3-5
11:19because we're going to suck away from home.
11:22And would you consider that we'll beat Green Bay
11:25because Mike McCarthy is no longer affiliated with either one,
11:28and that will break the curse?
11:29Ooh, interesting idea right there.
11:32Then you get to the one weird game, and I want to point this out again.
11:36Once your game on Thanksgiving is over,
11:39you play one more time until December 20th.
11:44Between Thanksgiving, once that game is over, December 20th,
11:48you play one game, and that is on the road
11:50against the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.
11:54I believe you guys are both at 7-5 right now.
11:57I'm at 6-5, I believe.
12:00Did I miss a mark?
12:02You did.
12:03Oh, crap.
12:04I've got you at 7-5.
12:05Okay.
12:07Because we've played 12 games.
12:09So for Seattle, does that mean you have to have them lose to fix –
12:15Corey's reaction.
12:16Oh, no.
12:18You're going to have to take my word for it.
12:20All right.
12:20I have a very sophisticated system over here.
12:23All right.
12:23You have tallies.
12:24Look, I got tallies, too.
12:26Okay.
12:26I don't know when I stop tallying.
12:27You know what I think threw you off?
12:29The graph paper.
12:29Yeah, it is graph.
12:31It's very graphic.
12:33It's hot.
12:33You know what, though?
12:35Cowboys get a mini-bye after the Thanksgiving game.
12:39They do.
12:39They're going to go into Seattle healthy
12:41and running the ball very effectively
12:42because they know they've got a bye week coming up
12:44in lots of time and no way to be like,
12:46you know what, let's just leave it all out on the field, guys.
12:49So they take down Seattle.
12:51Okay.
12:52And now I am up to eight and five, allegedly.
12:56Alec, what say you?
12:58And then somebody else has said they're from the future
13:01and the Vikings are going to win the Super Bowl.
13:03What?
13:03Oh, Kyler Murray.
13:04Better invest in those cards right now.
13:06Maybe some J.J. McCarthy just to be safe.
13:08All right.
13:09Seattle on the road.
13:11Give me a win.
13:13Give me a win.
13:14I don't know.
13:16Seattle lost more than they added in the offseason.
13:19I think that's really going to hurt them.
13:21They're going to be a winning team.
13:22They're going to be fun to watch.
13:24But I think Sam Darnold might start to look like Sam Darnold again.
13:27All right.
13:27Let's pair these last couple off.
13:29At the Rams after two weeks off and hosting Jacksonville.
13:35It's going to be kind of tough, Kevin.
13:36You're losing to the Rams too much time off.
13:38Liam Cohen still trying to make the playoffs here at the end of the season.
13:42They're pushing really hard, and they get a win on your turf.
13:45So that's going to put you with seven losses on the season.
13:49At that point.
13:50So that hurts.
13:50If you just went from 8-5 to 8-7, that is going to hurt.
13:54Alec, you also had them in 8-5 at the Rams hosting the Jags.
13:58Will we avoid Corey's fate for the Cowboys?
14:01I think we will because I think you are going to lose to the Rams.
14:07But I think you're going to win against Jacksonville at home on the primetime scene.
14:12I think Jacksonville is just – they're not wrong.
14:14They're still just early.
14:16Yeah.
14:16They're just a bit early, and you can squeeze one out there.
14:19Now –
14:20Easy.
14:20The last two regular season games.
14:23So it sounds like for both of you all, this will very well decide if you go to the playoffs
14:28or not.
14:28Hosting the Giants at the Commanders.
14:31Corey, you're at 8-7.
14:33Alec, you're at 9-6.
14:34Giants are trying to get in the playoffs.
14:36They just aren't ready yet.
14:37And the Cowboys take them down, and Washington gives up on the season, and they go ahead and throw in
14:43the towel.
14:44And the Cowboys, with a to-be-determined schedule, go ahead and take that one.
14:48They finish the season 10-7, if my marks are correct.
14:53Okay.
14:54Well, if my marks are correct.
14:57Which you would assume put them in the playoffs.
14:59Now, Alec, hosting the Giants at the Commanders.
15:03You've got them at 9-6.
15:04How do we close?
15:06Hosting, visiting, neutral site in another country, doesn't matter.
15:10Cowboys 2-0 to finish the season like that.
15:12Ooh.
15:13I don't care.
15:13So let me ask you this then, Alec.
15:15At 10-7, feel good that they're in the playoffs.
15:18At 11-6, do they win this division?
15:21I think so.
15:22I think they do.
15:23I think this is the year that the spiral that we've been kind of projecting for Philly actually comes to
15:28life.
15:28Oh, Corey, does that mean at 10-7 you think they win the division?
15:31No.
15:32Okay.
15:32They get into the wild card.
15:33I mean, they're still in the playoffs.
15:35I do believe this will be a little bit of a tougher division this year.
15:39I think the Giants are going to be better.
15:40And they're going to give teams a little more fits.
15:43Just not the Cowboys.
15:44Okay.
15:45So there you go.
15:4610-7 for Corey.
15:4811-6 from Mr. Medford.
15:51Homer.
15:52Oh, man.
15:53This would be crazy for the 6-8-2.
15:55We're going to go undefeated 6-0.
15:57Then Dak gets injured and we fall apart.
15:59Man, that would suck.
16:00You get through maybe the most difficult part of your schedule at 6-0 and then your quarterback gets hurt?
16:06That would be the worst.
16:07Please be with me.
16:07be with me. Make
