00:01Last fall I was diagnosed with breast cancer, stage 4, lost about 95% of my
00:08hair and I still don't quite feel like myself. So I feel like once I am able to
00:14get a wig that I am confident and comfortable in, just being able to go
00:18out anywhere or just feel like myself again is going to be huge.
00:30Hi, I'm Jordan and today I'm at the Wig Fairy and I'm here to get my first human hair wig.
00:35My hair journey started at the beginning of this year in January when I started chemotherapy.
00:43Last fall I felt a lump in one of my breasts and I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
00:50About a month later after some CT scans we found a spot in my liver and that was
00:56biopsied and was positive so I was diagnosed with stage 4. It's been a bit of an emotional
01:02rollercoaster. There are days I feel really good, there are days that I still can't believe
01:07it's happening, but after finishing chemo and radiation I'm finally feeling like there's
01:13light at the end of the tunnel. I'm excited to get a wig and start living my life again.
01:19Hi, my name is Mona Zagia and I'm the owner of the Wig Fairy Salon in Beverly Hills.
01:23The Wig Fairy is known for transforming wigs. We take a wig from anything as a haircut to color
01:31to repairs. Any of our human hair wigs can be priced from $2,500 to about $3,000 to $4
01:37,000.
01:38The Wig Fairy has a wig gifting program. We raise funds and we're able to donate wigs to
01:44women that are battling hair loss and Jordan was one of our applicants out of many applicants and we
01:50love her story and we're excited to get her her dream hair. Hi Jordan. Hi. Nice to meet you.
01:57I'm Mona. Nice to meet you. Welcome. Thank you. Are you excited? Yes. I'm so excited. Me too. So I'm
02:02going to take off your hat. Okay. I have several wigs that I pulled aside for you. We're going to
02:07go
02:08throughout the colors. Okay. We'll go browns, blondes, all the different shades. Whatever makes you feel
02:13like yourself is the wig that we're going to choose today. Okay. Thank you. Fun? Yes. Sounds good.
02:19During chemo, we did order several wigs off Amazon with various price points from like $50 to $100.
02:27Unfortunately, none of them looked even remotely like my own hair or something that I would be
02:32comfortable wearing out. So we sent them all back. I have just rocked a beanie or a hat ever since.
02:39Okay. Ready? Yes. You haven't had a good human hair wig on. No. Okay. So this is a big deal.
02:44Yeah.
02:48Here we go. So all of the pieces are considered raw pieces. So you're literally just looking at the
02:54hair color and hair length. So how do you like this color? It's very long. I think I'm in shock.
03:01So
03:01because it's so much hair compared to what I've had the last year. The last year. But prior to that,
03:05your hair was pretty long, right? Yes. Do you like the coloring of this or did you want to go
03:09something lighter or darker? Maybe a little bit. I feel like my blonde was a little bit more blonde
03:16than this. Whiter? Yeah. The wigs I tried from Amazon were so not what I was expecting that. I would
03:24love
03:24a wig that looked similar to my natural hair, which was long, blonde, and wavy.
03:30It's like a candy shop here. Yes.
03:35Oh, I like this one. So the blonde on this one got a little bit more golden. Okay. But that
03:40one was a
03:40little bit lighter. And then I found that one in the short one too. Okay. So you could try on
03:45a short
03:45one too. Oh, I like this. So this one has the little lighter pieces in the front. You see that?
03:51Mm-hmm. So it automized gives you the illusion that it's coming out of your scalp. This piece gets cut
03:56off.
03:56Okay. So don't worry about that. That's a mini facelift we include. Okay. So how do you like this one?
04:03I love it. So is this the winner? I think so. Yay! Say yes to the wig. Yay! Yes.
04:13Normally, I customize the cut according to their face shape. So some people think that when you purchase
04:19the wig, it has to be exactly the way it comes. We customize the part exactly to how their natural
04:25hair is. So I'm going to be parting her hair to how her photos are, how her original hair is.
04:32And we
04:32use the infusion powder to camouflage your scalp to give her a more natural look. I will be making
04:38sure she walks out with the perfect cut, perfect hair, perfect style to make her feel like herself again.
04:44Each time I took a shower, as my chemo progressed over the months, more and more hair would come
04:51out. Every time I brushed my hair, I was getting clumps out. And I didn't think it would impact me
04:58emotionally because I knew it was going to happen. And I'm a nurse and I've seen it happen to patients.
05:03But when it happens to you yourself, it's definitely, it was traumatic and it felt like I was losing a
05:11piece
05:15of myself. It looks so good. Do you see it? I love it. Does it feel more like you? Yes.
05:24Yeah? Yes. Look,
05:26and then I saw like you do a whole bunch of things like where you pull your hair up. Yeah.
05:30You could do
05:30stuff like this. Yes. Oh, I'm so excited. I love everything about this new look. I have hair again
05:39for the first time in a year. I love the color. I love the cut. I love how confident I
05:46feel in it. And
05:47I just feel like a new person. I could see you're like slowly touching it. Just be. Yeah. I know,
05:53but I don't want to mess it up. No, you can't mess it up. Have fun with it. A human
05:58hair wig is just like
05:59our own hair. It's just not attached to our head. So you want to always be able to wash it
06:04and keep it
06:04clean. Make sure you're brushing it out every night before you go to sleep. Look at all the volume. I
06:09know. This is nuts. I'm so excited to be able to have hair to play with, to style it, to
06:17have fun
06:18with it the next few days, to be able to have an outfit feel complete again without a hat on.
06:24I'm obsessed.
