00:22I have always loved Billie's bright and bold colors, her neon green, her silver hair,
00:29but the red speaks to me so I decided to go with that. I think the bright red makes me
00:35a little
00:36nervous but mostly excited. I am ready to go bright and bold.
00:41Hey, I'm Mitchell Ramazon and I'm a hairstylist and colorist here in New York City.
00:49So I grew up in the suburbs of Maryland and as a queer boy I needed a way out. So
00:54I started working
00:55in a salon when I was about 15. I left the salon when I was 25 and moved to LA
00:59and I started working
01:00with a celebrity stylist. My specialty has kind of changed throughout the years. When I was in the
01:05salon I worked with a lot of color and now I work with a lot of private clients and celebrities
01:09for
01:10special events. My favorite part about transforming clients' hair is definitely the before and after.
01:15Just being in the salon and seeing the reaction in the mirror but also online too. Like I love to

01:19my before and afters and see what people think. It's so much fun. Today I'll be coloring my client's hair
01:24in a Billie Eilish inspired color and cut. Hi, nice to meet you. It's so nice to meet you. Thank

01:29coming in today. Of course, I'm so excited. What are we getting into? I want to go full Billie Eilish.
01:34I want to go dark at the bottom and I want to do her neon red right up here at
01:39the roof. So the
01:39new Billie Eilish. Yes. I love that. I love that. I'm so excited for this look. Me too. It's gonna
01:44be amazing.
01:48I'm gonna mix up Bond RX. This is by Paul Mitchell and it's our powder lightener and we're
01:53going to use 20 volume. I'm using level 20 because we don't need to use too high of a developer
01:58since
01:59it's going to be close to the scalp and the heat of the head is going to give us a
02:02lot of lift.
02:04So whenever you're doing a vibrant color, it's really important to have a light base. So the
02:08most important thing today is leaching the hair to a level 10 is what we call. So it's the brightest
02:13blonde. So we're first going to do that so that the red can really pop.
02:27After we shampoo out the bleach, we're going to dry the hair completely to a place where it's
02:32completely dry on the scalp so that I can apply the Colorways color. Colorways has a variety of
02:38different shades and we're going to use the red as our primary color. But I'm going to add a little
02:43bit of gray in just to mute the color a little bit so it's not too bright and it feels
02:47a little more
02:48lived in. Now that the roots are bleached and dried, we're going to paint it red.
02:57And we'll let that sit in for about like 25-30 minutes. After we rinse the red while her hair
03:04is
03:04still damp, I'm going to mix up a semi-permanent color by Paul Mitchell. Semi-permanent colors are
03:08perfect because they don't have a lot of commitment to them so it'll fade with time and I find that
03:12they're really shiny so we're going to use Paul Mitchell's one end. I'm going to add a little bit
03:17of extensions around the face just to add a little bit more length. I'm going to use a pair of
03:21blonde
03:21extensions and customize them with the roots red and then the ends black.
03:32Once I put the extensions in, I'm going to go ahead and shape the cut and smooth it out a
03:37little bit
03:37more to give it a polished look. Then I'm also going to cut some curtain bangs to hit right at
03:42the
03:43eyes so they really pop. All right, close your eyes.
