00:00This is Bobby Belt, Below the Belt.
00:02He's an idiot.
00:03Don't make me take off my belt!
00:05Don't make me take off my belt!
00:06Over to you, Bobby.
00:07It is Bobby!
00:09Bobby Belt for the Below the Belt, which I thought we were just doing Wolchuk, but here it is.
00:13The Below the Belt intro.
00:14Yeah, I like the intro.
00:15To Zach Wolchuk, sponsored by Window Nation.
00:20Zachary, did you crash out?
00:22Yesterday I thought that you may have been asleep for a long, long time.
00:25Now you had a bathroom incident.
00:27Now you had an open Twitter incident.
00:29Then, how much did you sleep?
00:31My man.
00:33Yeah.
00:34And I love that you were trying to go out and party afterwards, and the rest of them were too
00:38soft to do it.
00:40Yeah, we, you know, hey, the wife, we had some birthday stuff going on with the family.
00:46My sister had her birthday, so she was like, hey, Saturday, can we still go out?
00:50So I invited the rest of the guys.
00:52Nobody else really wanted to join.
00:53You didn't say Sammy was there.
00:55And she didn't bring it up to me last time I talked to her.
00:58That's surprising.
00:59I know you guys are, you talk on a regular basis.
01:01I can't believe she didn't mention that, Bob.
01:03I got you, Sammy.
01:04I got you.
01:06But, no, I mean, Sean, you know, with the two kids, the sleep, I don't think I'm ever going to
01:11catch up on the sleep.
01:12I'm running on fumes.
01:13And my youngest one's sick right now.
01:15So it's just, it's not great.
01:16The sleeping wasn't ideal.
01:19Fantastic draft coverage.
01:21All the homework coming to fruition.
01:24Let's start off with day two, Zach, with what they did and just the ups and the downs of watching
01:30players go off the board,
01:31the projections, all the conversation.
01:33Let's start off with Jay Sean Barham, Michigan linebacker, and what you think of his game.
01:40Yeah, I like Barham a lot.
01:42I think that we did a game Brian likes to throw out.
01:45Like, if you can't get player X, who else would you try and go get, like, player Y?
01:49So we, if you couldn't get Arbel Reese, a guy that has just similar skills, would have been Jay Sean
01:55Barham from Michigan.
01:56Because he's got that flex that can play inside off all linebacker and then edge being able to rush the
02:01passer.
02:01He's only done that for a year.
02:03So, like, I was listening to Charles earlier, and I actually kind of think he does look a little bit
02:09more comfortable inside linebacker playing off.
02:12Oh, I like that's what Dallas is going to do with him.
02:14Because I think he's a really good blitzer.
02:16So, I mean, it's just that there's so much in terms of where he's lining up and what Christian Parker
02:21using the term multiple.
02:23He can do a lot from a lot of various positions.
02:26So I think they've got a really good vision and a plan for how they want to use him.
02:30But he's a Havoc-type player, and they haven't had a lot of that on defense, guys, that can really
02:35make an impact.
02:36But he's an all-around athlete.
02:37I think he's really good against the run, super physical.
02:41He's fun.
02:41Him and DeMarvin Overshoff, if Overshoff can stay healthy, those two flying around and getting after the football together is
02:46going to be really, really exciting on this defense.
02:48Were you thinking about Drew Shelton, the Penn State tackle, replacing someone, or you just automatically said swing-tackle versatility?
02:57I think he's probably more so your swing, but I'd love it if he can push Tyler Guyton.
03:03I mean, I'm not going to expect him to come in and be your starter day one.
03:08But Tyler Guyton, I think he's more consistent than Shelton is in terms of being able to maintain his balance,
03:17his footwork.
03:18They're both great athletes, but they both lack power.
03:21So I think Shelton can give you that right and left tackle versatility.
03:25I think he's going to have to play at some point this year.
03:28I mean, Tyler Guyton has just not been able to stay healthy.
03:31That's been his biggest problem.
03:32So I'd expect Shelton to contribute year one immediately.
03:35And if he plays well, maybe he does end up taking over that position.
03:39I'm not going to say that he is going to end up winning that job,
03:41but I'd love him to give Tyler Guyton a run for his money in an ideal world.
03:46He just needs to add some upper body strength and power.
03:48Who was your favorite of the day three selections?
03:51Was it Shelton, or were you a fan of the Devin Moore, Overton, Anthony Smith picks?
03:57It was probably Devin Moore.
03:59I like Devin Moore and just kind of the range that he's able to play with.
04:04I think he's going to be – they needed another corner that they have in their back pocket
04:08in case Savone Rebel or Blander, these guys, aren't ready to go.
04:11So I like, especially now that you have Caleb Downs,
04:14who can go ahead and make up for any type of gambling that Devin Moore wants to do,
04:18I think he's probably the guy to me that I think is the best of the picks.
04:23Overton, he's got to be a hand-in-the-ground defensive lineman,
04:25and I think that he kicks inside as a defensive tackle in those four-down sets.
04:29But they clearly needed that kind of guy that can play that 4-I, 5-technique type of deal.
04:35So I think, to me, the guy that's got the most upside out of all of them
04:38is Devin Moore, the corner from Florida.
04:40But watching Anthony Smith – I mean, it's a seventh-rounder,
04:43so I'm not going to put ridiculous expectations on him.
04:47But it was like any time that that team at East Carolina needed a big play,
04:51Anthony Smith is the dude.
04:53So he's going to have to play special teams, which he did not do at all in college.
04:57But I wouldn't be surprised.
04:58I mean, they need some depth now with Tolbert going on,
05:01and he'll compete with Treshawn Holden for that wide receiver 5 spot.
05:04All right, Zach Wolchuk with us here on Sean and RJ on 105.3 The Fan.
05:08So out of all the picks – because I think everybody felt pretty good about what they collected.
05:12But out of all the picks they made, are there any that you say,
05:14I wish I could have subbed out that guy for this one at that pick?
05:19I probably would have subbed out Joshua Farmer, the guard from Kentucky,
05:25for Danny Shelton out of Penn State.
05:27I just really liked Farmer.
05:30Yeah, I keep saying Danny Shelton, the former defensive tackle.
05:32Yeah, the Browns guy.
05:34Yeah, yeah, no, Drew Shelton.
05:35I just like Farmer more.
05:37But if they wanted to tackle, obviously Farmer's a guard.
05:40I think Farmer can compete to be a day-one starter.
05:43To me, he's very similar play style to Tyler Booker.
05:46So if you look at having Farmer, Beebe, and Booker,
05:50and then now I would have kicked Tyler Smith to left tackle,
05:53which clearly they don't want to do.
05:54But I would have loved – Joshua Farmer was a player to me that I was really,
05:58really high on.
05:59I had him a round higher than Drew Shelton.
06:02And that would have probably been the only ones that I would have swapped personally.
06:06Question for both of you.
06:07Did either of you feel like there was a much different approach that the Cowboys took
06:12with this draft because of Christian Parker or because of Brian Schottenheimer as well?
06:16Did you feel like, all right, this crop of players is something I personally agree with a lot more
06:22or I'm seeing tendencies or traits with this crop that may be different from years past?
06:28Start with you, Bobby.
06:28Yeah, I mean, they've gone back to something they used to do pretty heavily under previous regimes
06:33but hadn't done in recent histories.
06:35They went heavy on positional flexibility.
06:37So that's a shift.
06:39And in a sense, then that means the shift is also that Christian Parker had a very big assertive voice,
06:44which I think most coaches do.
06:45It just seems like Parker understood how big his voice was and he decided to use it.
06:51You agree, Zach?
06:53Yeah, I mean, the last two years they've drafted a lot of team captains, a lot of leadership guys.
06:58So if Shottie talks about building the culture a lot, really there's no better player to start with
07:02on the defensive side of the ball than Caleb Downs.
07:04But I think looking at just physical traits, Christian Parker clearly has a vision for every single one of the
07:10players
07:10that they took on defense, and his voice was definitely heard.
07:13I think they also, Clayton Adams, I think, was the guy.
07:16It sounds like Drew Shelton.
07:18He's loved him going back to, you know, their days.
07:21I think Connor Riley is well recruiting.
07:23So the Drew Shelton pick might have been more of a coaching type of influence than it was anything else.
07:28But I think certainly character is a big deal with these guys.
07:32Zach Wolchuk, G-Bag Nation, right here.
07:35Draft coverage on 105.3 The Fan.
07:37Zach, give us an education on the rest of the NFC East and just kind of run down those squads
07:42and what you liked or didn't like about what they did.
07:46Giants had a pretty darn good night one and two.
07:49I mean, with Arbel Reese and Francis Malinoa, I mean, I hope both of them fall flat on their face
07:53and stink.
07:54But Colton Hood, getting him in the second round, I mean, we had talked about him as a cowboy target,
08:00maybe even as early as 12 if they got wiped out, definitely in consideration at 20.
08:05Those were three really, really good picks.
08:07I actually even liked Jack Kelly there, the BYU linebacker they got in the sixth round.
08:12That dude's a freak athlete.
08:13The Eagles was kind of a meh draft.
08:15I liked their first two picks.
08:18Makai Lemon, I had personally as my top receiver.
08:21I hope he ends up, you know, being crazy with those crazy eyes.
08:24He's got Jalen Hurd.
08:26He's a huge bust.
08:27But Eli Stowers is a star.
08:29I mean, they've been trying to get Dallas Goddard out of there.
08:32Eli Stowers could end up being an exceptional player.
08:34They took two giant offensive linemen, which is on par with what the Eagles like to do,
08:39with Markel Bell out of Miami and then Micah Morris from Georgia.
08:43And then Washington.
08:44I mean, I love Sonny Stiles.
08:46I assume Dan Quinn and him are going to be really good together.
08:51But the rest of their draft, Joshua Josephs, they took in the fifth round from Tennessee.
08:56Watch it.
08:56I think he's a good edge player.
08:58Yep.
08:58And he's super explosive.
09:00At worst, he's a third-down pass rush specialist.
09:02Antonio Williams, the wide receiver from Clemson, he's a guy you can line up all over the field.
09:07I mean, you can put him in the backfield, slot, wide receiver.
09:10They needed some more playmakers on offense.
09:12I was a little bit surprised that they didn't come away with a running back before Tatron Allen out of
09:20Penn State.
09:21And Allen's a good player.
09:23And they've had success day three.
09:25Maybe he ends up being a big hit for them.
09:27But I think the Giants clearly had the best draft.
09:30I think Washington and Filthy, they each had a handful of picks that I liked.
09:35But I think the Cowboys probably did, and not trying to be a homer,
09:39I think the Cowboys did have the best draft weekend out of anybody in the division.
09:42A lot of the pundits love the Eagles draft.
09:45Do you think they're just saying, oh, it's Howie, he must be doing something right?
09:50Yeah, I think that that's probably reputation-based.
09:53I mean, like, Cole was new skiing in the seventh round.
09:55I think that's the guy the Cowboys would have tried to bring in out of Texas Tech.
09:58Safety, linebacker, kind of hybrid.
10:00He's going to contribute on special teams.
10:02Like, the first two picks, I get it.
10:03Lemon and Stowers are really good.
10:05Markel Bell, maybe he ends up being a great offensive tackle.
10:09But I don't know how you can look at that Eagles draft and be like,
10:12but any of this, like any of the grades and all the reaction afterwards,
10:16we've got to wait and see how the – I can say, gosh, the Cowboys just got an A-plus
10:20draft,
10:20and then these guys don't end up panning out, especially with the day three players.
10:24There's been some I've loved, and then, you know, you're junior for Hoco,
10:27and you're out of the league in two years.
10:29So, some of this is – we've just got to wait and see how it goes.
10:33But I think that the Eagles draft gets inflated because of what you just said there, Chubb.
10:37It's Howie Roseman, and it's reputation-based.
10:40But I do like their first two picks.
10:41Best and worst drafts, in your opinion, around the rest of the league?
10:47Ooh, I do think Kansas City had themselves a good overall draft.
10:51I love Mansour Delane.
10:53Getting Peter Woods where they did, I think, was a solid value.
10:57R. Mason Thomas in the second round, the edge out of Oklahoma.
11:00They needed somebody to get after the passer.
11:02I think he's a guy that I thought could have gone possibly late round one.
11:07Jayden Kennedy is Jordan Lewis-like with the way he's able to play in the slot,
11:12a little bit undersized but super pesky and can make plays on the ball.
11:16And then getting Emmitt Johnson in the fifth round, the running back out of Nebraska,
11:19who was one of the best all-around backs after Jeremiah Love in the entire class.
11:24That's a nice pick.
11:26It's Kenneth Walker, as good as he is.
11:27He's a hurt guy.
11:28I mean, he's going to miss some time.
11:30You're going to need somebody to fill in for two to four games a year.
11:33Emmitt Johnson can do that.
11:34And they got Nuss.
11:35They got Bobby's guy.
11:36Nuss.
11:36Garrett Nussmeyer.
11:37There we go.
11:38Flower Malt Marcus.
11:39So, I thought they had a really good draft.
11:41Look, Jacksonville, I don't know what the hell they were doing.
11:44Jacksonville, I mean, my God, they took – I watched close to 200 players.
11:50They took about four guys.
11:51I have no idea who the hell they were.
11:54So, it's just – I mean, their first pick – they didn't have a pick in the first round.
11:58They take the tight end from A&M that I thought was a fifth-round guy in the second round.
12:03Their best pick was Emmanuel Pregman, the guard from Oregon,
12:06who I did think was a first-round caliber player.
12:09They took him in the third.
12:10Third, otherwise, up and down the board, it's like, who the hell is Zach Dufresne or Durfee?
12:15Well, we love Josh Cameron.
12:16We love that they picked Josh Cameron out of Baylor.
12:19Yeah.
12:19Yeah.
12:20And Josh – in the sixth round, hey, Josh Cameron might end up being the highlight of their draft class.
12:25And that's not a joke.
12:26Probably.
12:28Hey, fantastic coverage.
12:29Thank you so much.
12:31Tell the wife it was all worth it in terms of everything you invested.
12:34And real quick, what was more entertaining, Bobby stealing your Twitter account or Broadus versus Bobby?
12:41Honestly, it's awkward.
12:42The Brian-Bobby thing was weird.
12:44I felt bad.
12:45I was like, Bobby, you're – Brian, he's not listening.
12:48And I've been there.
12:49And there's nothing we can really do.
12:51He's just going to keep doubling down.
12:53He's going to say what he's going to say.
12:54And Bobby, you're just going to have –
12:56But, look, don't get in an argument with Bobby because you're right.
12:58I mean, he's going to find something from 10 years ago that you said.
13:01Throw that back in your face.
13:02So, I've learned that lesson.
13:04But I think the best – the highlight of Saturday was the Bubble Guts incident and Bobby hijacking the Twitter.
13:09We had a lot of fun with that.
13:10Thank you, Zachary.
13:11Appreciate it.
13:11Great work, man.
13:13Thanks, fellas.
13:14Y'all keep crushing.
13:15Zach Wolchuk, monster from the G-Bag Nation.
