00:00Hello, how's it going? Lots of fine weather for many of us today. That's because we have high pressure across
00:06the UK, keeping things mostly settled, but not everywhere. Blustery showers in the north and a front in the southeast
00:12bring some rain, mainly over France, but some in the English Channel and some clipping southeastern parts of England as
00:18well, especially around Kent. Could be some heavier bursts of rain through this afternoon and into the evening.
00:23Apart from then, the blustery showers across northern Scotland, which should be easing. For most, it is a fine day,
00:28with the sunniest skies towards the north and west further towards the southeast. It's looking a bit cloudier. Temperatures are
00:34generally going to be a bit above average for this late in September, mid to high teens towards the north
00:39and west in the southeast, despite the fact that there will be that cloud around. Temperatures here should still get
00:44into the low 20s Celsius.
00:46Through the evening, there's a bit more rain to come across parts of the southeast. Then overnight, cloud and a
00:52few outbreaks of rain will push up from the south across southern counties. Further north, well, we'll see the blustery
00:58showers over northern Scotland clearing away, and for many it is going to be dry with some clear skies. As
01:04a result, where we get those clear skies, temperatures dropping. It is going to be a bit chilly in some
01:09places, low single figures in rural spots.
01:11But further south, where that cloud and the spots of rain are pushing in, we're actually getting warmer air coming
01:17through as well. And so, if anything, later on in the night, we're going to start to see temperatures rising,
01:21which is a little bit different to what normally happens.
01:25Then through tomorrow, a bit of a north-south split to start the day. Brighter across northern parts, grey towards
01:31the south, and grey damp weather is going to spill its way a bit further northwards.
01:36So, initially across central parts by lunchtime, then across northern Ireland, northern England and the far south of Scotland, it
01:42will turn cloudy with a few outbreaks of rain as well.
01:45Staying mostly dry across much of Scotland, however, and in the south, well, we're likely to see things brightening up.
01:51Not a guarantee, but I think we will see a bit more bright, sunny weather developing here through the afternoon.
01:57And with warm air being dragged up from the south, and that brightness, well, temperatures here are going to be
02:02way above average for what is the penultimate day of September.
02:07Highs of around 27, possibly a little bit higher than that towards the southeast.
02:11And even further north, we're looking at high teens, if not low 20s in some places.
02:15So, a really warm feel, but it is also going to be windy.
02:18There's a system out in the west that's going to bring some rain to western parts later on, and it's
02:23leading to stronger winds, which will be building through the day.
02:28Later on in the week, well, we do see that rain in the west on Tuesday pushing its way eastwards
02:32across all parts, really, on Wednesday.
02:35Could be some heavier rain than we've seen for quite a while in some areas.
02:39And then for Thursday, Friday, quite a showery set up.
02:42But if it's dry weather you're after, well, it looks like at least across central southern parts we're going to
02:47see high-pressure building for the weekend, so things should settle down.
