00:02Hello, welcome to the CV's Flight Channel.
00:10Personally, I would love if that happened because maybe we could see him on a 450 the last couple races.
00:16I don't know, JB, I'm just spitballing. I'm spitballing here, but really what Hayden's been able to do this year,
00:24I mean, there's no doubt that he's ready for the next level.
00:27He's been far and away. Side to Anaheim 1, the best guy on the track, and most of the time
00:32it hasn't been close.
00:34So Hayden Deegan looking to continue his winning ways here.
00:37And for Levi Kitchen, we saw him at our last showdown in Birmingham, got a good start, a really clutch
00:43start
00:44because he got a bad start in the heat race, was running up front, had great speed,
00:48then just looked like he faded a little bit the last half, didn't end up on the podium there.
00:52And I'm wondering if he can bounce back. I've heard a little, I've heard some stuff behind the scenes
00:57that maybe he's dealing with a bit of an injury, doesn't have a lot of bike time during the week.
01:01But Levi's one of these guys with so much talent on the bike that any given Saturday, if he's feeling
01:07it,
01:07he gets a good start, he can come out here and win the race.
01:10So I want to see the 47 up towards the front of the field.
01:13And Max Volan, a lot like Dax Binnick, is a guy that even you've told me, JB,
01:18down at Club MX during the week, I wouldn't even believe how fast the 19 goes on a Tuesday afternoon.
01:25And I watched him during press day yesterday. He looked like James Stewart.
01:28And if he can bring that same speed, that same intensity, which is, it's tough to do in a race
01:34setting.
01:34There's no doubt it's very hard to do.
01:36But if he can find a way to bring that to Saturday, he's had a pretty good season.
01:41But I believe this rider has a chance to be a great rider in this class.
01:46He can win races, get on the podium, maybe not this year.
01:49But I think if he can bring that intensity here tonight, I do think he has a chance to be
01:56up in the top five,
01:57maybe a chance at a podium if things fall his way.
02:00Absolutely. Max Volan, there's no doubt about it.
02:03I'm telling you guys on a Tuesday, he is absolutely unbelievable.
02:06In the preseason, I was down at Club MX hanging out.
02:08But Chad Reed was down there working with the guys, and I said to Chad, he can win races, huh?
02:13Max can win some races, and Chad agreed with me.
02:15So if he can bring that speed to Saturday, it's going to be something special.
02:19As we get rolling here, 250 West, qualifier number one.
02:21We'll be fueled by on the run.
02:23And, Adam, you mentioned how dominant this man Hayden Deegan has been as he jumps that section right away.
02:29He did not take long to match Cole Davies in that section right there.
02:32Six out of six heat race wins, five of seven main wins, five of seven fastest.
02:38This guy is no doubt ready for the next level.
02:41And he needed to take a step for how great he's been.
02:44He's been unbelievable outdoors since year one.
02:47But Supercross kind of started a little bit slower.
02:51Obviously won that championship last year and was dominant towards the end of the season.
02:55But you could tell he just wanted to come in and really leave his mark in the 250 class.
03:00And it really does remind me a lot of Ryan Pilipoto in 2007.
03:04He is that good.
03:07And to see him make this step in Supercross, I cannot wait to see him at the next level.
03:14Absolutely.
03:14He's been dominant.
03:16One of the most polarizing figures we've seen potentially in the history of the sport.
03:20He's going to be so much fun to watch in that 450 class.
03:23But how about this guy?
03:24Max Anse, he started the West Division off with a win at Anaheim 1 and relatively dominant.
03:29He came from behind.
03:30Then he got an infection.
03:31You notice that Seattle when he was on the podium, he couldn't stop coughing.
03:35He goes triple out of that corner right there.
03:36That's a big three for the 250s.
03:38Triple onto the tabletop.
03:40Got his appendix removed.
03:41And now he feels like he's back to where he was at Anaheim 1.
03:45So he'll be one to watch here in St. Louis.
03:47The only problem with that is Hayden Deegan has also gotten so much better from Anaheim 1 until now.
03:54But for Max, we saw at the start of the season, we thought he maybe had an outside chance at
03:59this title.
04:00Won Anaheim in a dominant way.
04:01Went to San Diego.
04:02Was leading that race.
04:03And we all know how that turned out.
04:05Hayden Deegan came in.
04:06Took him down.
04:07And it just seemed like he was struggling with some health stuff and some confidence.
04:11And it's very difficult to go.
04:13I haven't done it myself.
04:15But it must be very difficult to go against Hayden Deegan for a championship.
04:19He's so mentally strong.
04:21He plays these little games with you.
04:23And it's very difficult to stay focused purely on what you're doing.
04:27But Max is a veteran.
04:28He's a great rider.
04:29Very technical on the bike.
04:32And if he can get his starts back, be up towards the front of the race, he has podium speed.
04:37I don't know about winning right now.
04:39I think some things would have to go his way.
04:41But he is a great supercross rider.
04:44Hayden Deegan on top.
04:4555.2.
04:46He's setting the tone so far here in this session as Anstey goes 57.8.
04:51Yoder jumps in with a 57.4.
04:54How about this guy?
04:55Speed has not been an issue all season.
04:57Starts have.
04:58But he did get a great start just a couple weeks ago.
05:00But you notice he's got a kidney belt on.
05:03I was talking to his crew yesterday.
05:05A little bit of a back injury going on.
05:07It kind of flares up here and there.
05:08But Levi Kitchen, he'll be a factor here in St. Louis, no doubt.
05:11So no more golf for Levi Kitchen during the week is what you're telling me.
05:14Maybe not.
05:15Yeah, the kidney belt, bit old school, running it, running it over the jersey too.
05:20But anytime you're dealing with the lower back, I've been there.
05:23I'm sure you have, JB, after racing for 35 years.
05:26Easy.
05:27It's very easy to flare that up.
05:30And it can sometimes, depending on the specific injury, it can kind of get more fatigued as the race goes
05:36on.
05:37And it's very difficult to hold on to hold your pace until the end.
05:41And so that makes a lot of sense for what I saw at Birmingham because it looked like he had
05:45enough speed to win that race.
05:46But we see they're wearing a kidney belt.
05:49So we've got a little bit of a back injury for the 47.
05:53Haley, you have more on the 47?
05:55Yeah.
05:56I learned a lot yesterday when I also had a chance to speak with him.
05:59And to my surprise, this didn't come from a crash.
06:01This came from the gym and lifting.
06:02And this isn't the same place he hurt his back, that injury in Daytona in 2025.
06:07This is actually his lower back.
06:09So, yes, he mentioned that kidney belt that you guys saw and learned from the team.
06:13He says the longer he rides, the more it starts to burn and feel that pain.
06:16The only thing that helps it is time off the bike.
06:19That's part of the reason why they came back this weekend.
06:21They decided we have a few weeks off.
06:23We won't see the West Coast again until Denver.
06:26And these super motocross points, these are important.
06:28We're taking those into consideration.
06:29Levi says he feels it most when he has to sit and roll his hips in.
06:34That's when the pain is the worst.
06:35But as far as running or walking, standing upright when his spine is elongated,
06:39he's not in any pain in that sense.
06:41That's good.
06:42Hopefully Levi Kitchen can have a good one here today.
06:44He's been fastest in five of 14 sessions this season.
06:48Remember, he came out firing at round one.
06:50He was fastest at Anaheim.
06:52And we thought there was a lot of great things to come,
06:54as we did for this man, the 61, your Anaheim 1 winner.
06:57Let's see what Anstey can do.
06:58He's seventh right now.
07:00Does he bump up a little bit?
07:01He does.
07:02He goes to fourth.
07:0357.2 to Hayden.
07:05Look at Hayden Deegan's time as he nails the whoops right there.
07:0954.8, much faster than the field.
07:12Yeah, and he's getting pretty close to the time of Seth Hamaker,
07:16as well, only a couple tenths of a second off.
07:18And with the track as soft as it is, like we've been talking about,
07:23Justin, this track is going to slow down considerably with each session that passes.
07:27So the fact that he's close to the east guys, I think he's challenging himself right now
07:32as we see some red cross flags.
07:34Is that Parker Ross or Lux Turner down there?
07:38Looked like that was the 42, a Dylan Schwartz down there.
07:42But how about, you mentioned Lux Turner.
07:44How about Lux Turner on the 43?
07:4757.1, top three so far here today.
07:50He's got some speed.
07:51And we saw him.
07:52We've told this story a couple times, but we watched him in Australia in the offseason.
07:57We both watched him ride and thought to ourselves,
07:59that's a top five guy in America in the Supercross championship.
08:03And Lux, he's had some strong heat race performances, some strong top tens.
08:08But I do think this rider, he has the chance to be a top five guy,
08:12a podium guy going into next year.
08:14So I view this year for Lux, came in with a bit of an injury, not much time on the
08:18bike.
08:18It's a big building year for Lux Turner.
08:21Absolutely.
08:22Sitting third here so far today.
08:24Some red cross flags out.
08:25I believe that was Dylan Schwartz.
08:26Hopefully he's okay.
08:27Hayden Deegan, fastest so far.
08:29How about Ryder D in second?
08:30We've talked about him a lot preseason.
08:32Once again, a big year for a guy like Ryder D to potentially win a race,
08:37get on the podium, maybe come into 2027 as a championship favorite.
08:40And he came out at Anaheim 1, put it on the box with everybody healthy.
08:44I think I've seen a different Ryder D this year in terms of aggression.
08:48On the bike.
08:49It looks like he has a lot more confidence in himself and his fitness, his strength.
08:54I know he's been working on it.
08:55We've talked about it a lot.
08:57Had such a dominant amateur career.
08:59This guy knows how to win.
09:01And he's slowly building the skills that he needs to win at this level.
09:06Absolutely.
09:07And Steve Forth.
09:08Hunter Yoder having a great season for that Club Amex Yamaha team.
09:11His teammate Max Bolin in sixth.
09:13They are tight right there.
09:14Both of them 57.4s.
09:16Levi Kitchen at Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki.
09:19We talked about that lingering back injury.
09:22Hopefully it doesn't bug him too much here today.
09:24But he's made a couple mistakes on track so far today.
09:26Let's see what he does.
09:27Pay attention to the green bike.
09:29That Kawasaki just gets up a little bit too high.
09:31And that's not going to feel good on the back.
09:33No, it's not.
09:34And I was going to say when we were talking about Levi, when you go out there with a
09:37back injury, it just puts a lot of pressure on yourself to be perfect, to not overshoot
09:42any jumps, not do this, what we saw.
09:45And once you start crashing and you're still going for fast laps, you're making these mistakes,
09:50sometimes you just got to come back to the pits, take a breath, let it go, move on.
09:55But I have no doubt Levi Kitchen will be just fine.
09:58He's smiling.
09:58He's having some fun out there.
10:00Seventh so far.
10:01No worries.
10:01He's 57.5.
10:03Hayden Deegan, look at that time, 54.8.
10:06When we compare that to the East Division guys, Hammockers at 54.6, unarguably, maybe
10:12not even arguably.
10:13It was a faster track.
10:13It was a faster track for the East Division.
10:15And what Hayden Deegan, with how dominant he's been this year, you have to be your own
10:21benchmark in those scenarios.
10:22I think back to James Stewart when he was racing the 125 class, beating these guys by 30
10:27seconds every weekend.
10:28You can't, Hayden Deegan wants to be truly great at the next level.
10:33So he is, he is, it's him versus him every weekend to be the best he can be.
10:38And that, that's why he's as good as he is.
10:40That's why he's gotten to this place he has in the sport.
10:43So we get things rolling right here again.
10:47Four minutes and 25 seconds left to go here in the first 250 West.
10:53Qualifier number one, Hayden Deegan fastest.
10:55And it's not even close right now as he triples out of the corner.
10:58Now, some guys yesterday, Jordan Smith was the first one to do it.
11:01He tripled again off of that.
11:03Let's pay attention if the 250 guys are able to do that.
11:06And then up next, the 450 class, we'll see if some guys can start doing that way.
11:10And that's the fast way.
11:11That's it is.
11:12But it's tough.
11:12It is tough with that.
11:13I guess we're calling it a banana.
11:15Are we calling it a banana?
11:16Ken Rockson's calling it a banana.
11:17Okay.
11:18We're calling it a banana.
11:19So that shallow pocket.
11:20If I'm at these 250 guys, you have to overshoot that first triple just a little bit to compress
11:26your suspension to get the lift for that next triple.
11:30It wouldn't surprise me if we saw the 1W go for it.
11:32If anybody can do it on track right now, it's this guy.
11:34Absolutely.
11:36We saw Brent Duffy and his suspension guy talking to him in between there when that red flag was out,
11:44talking to him about lines, maybe making a couple changes.
11:46And that right there is massive.
11:48And then the next triple is completely blind.
11:50You talked about it maybe in a 7 or 8 footer.
11:53You do not know where you're landing.
11:54I cannot explain.
11:55There we go.
11:55There it is.
11:57That's what we were talking about, going triple again.
11:59Then I think over the table, triple into the turn, Adam.
12:01You think that's the line?
12:02I think you could do that.
12:03It just depends on where the ruts are.
12:06So you want to get in the part of the lane that most of the guys aren't doing.
12:11Because once these lanes, as soft as they are, as ruddy as they are, once they rut up,
12:16they'll start throwing you higher in the air.
12:19So you obviously want to keep your momentum going forward instead of going up.
12:25Absolutely.
12:26It's 1.31 at Crockett Myers.
12:28Up there with a 1 minute .3.
12:30He's 11th right now.
12:32And these whoops, look, we talked about how soft the dirt is.
12:34They are absolutely going to be a factor.
12:36And it's not often you see a big triple like that right after the whoops.
12:40So the guys like Cole Daphys or Hayden Deegan that are really, really fast through there,
12:43they're going to be able to stay extra low off of that triple into that right-hand turn.
12:48As Ryder D, he sets up a fast lap.
12:5056.5.
12:52Can he better that?
12:52Let's see.
12:53And this is one thing that Ryder D does really well.
12:56He's always been great with that real sprint pace, exactly the skill set you need to qualify fast.
13:03You see him right there.
13:04Just got in the whoops a little bit too quick.
13:06Skipped a couple.
13:08And wow, I'm glad he saved that.
13:10It's very important when it starts going bad like that in the whoops.
13:13Very important to have your finger on the clutch.
13:15You can kind of pull the clutch in, pull the brakes in all at one time
13:19to make sure you don't go over the handlebars.
13:21So let's take another look at that.
13:24See him, he comes out of this corner, probably shifts into fourth gear,
13:27and his front tire just completely skipped that third whoop.
13:31And sometimes these 250 guys, when you come into the whoops so fast,
13:36like a Cole Davies, it's very important.
13:39You have to be disciplined, very disciplined about where you place your front wheel.
13:44And you saw Ryder just got in there maybe a little bit faster than he thought,
13:47and he just wasn't ready for it.
13:49Ryder D has been fastest in two sessions this year
13:51as Lux Turner was going to go for another one.
13:53He said, nope, not going to.
13:55Levi Kitchen, though, 56.0, a couple crashes, rebounds from them,
14:00and he's definitely got some speed as Hayden Deegan's on another one.
14:04Let's see if he can nail this next section.
14:05And I think we might see in the 450 class,
14:07I think we might see somebody four into that turn in the lane previous.
14:12Could be wishful, thank you, but you see him.
14:14Last time he did that line, he went over the tabletop,
14:16doubled, singled into the corner, does the triple that time.
14:20Let's see what it is here.
14:2254.6.
14:24Wow.
14:26Wow.
14:27And we mentioned the East Division having a little bit of a faster track.
14:30Hayden Deegan doesn't care.
14:32He goes fastest out of every 250 rider here today in St. Louis.
14:37Ryder D's on another fast lap,
14:38and I think it all comes down to this section right here.
14:40He goes triple.
14:41Can they go triple again like Hayden Deegan did?
14:44I believe that's worth, what do you think, three, four tenths at least?
14:48Yeah, half second, I would say, JB.
14:51Let's see what Ryder D's time is right here.
14:5356.5 is his fastest so far.
14:56That last time around was a 57.3, so a little bit off.
15:00Glad to see Levi Kitchen up there, though, in the top three
15:03as Hunter Yoder gets into the top five.
15:05He's a 56.8.
15:07How about Hayden Deegan having two seconds,
15:11or a second and a half, basically, on his competition
15:13and still going out there and throwing another one down?
15:16I have no doubt that he took on the challenge of wanting to be the fastest guy
15:22even though the East Division had a faster track.
15:25That's the type of things, when you get to his level,
15:28that's how you challenge yourself and stay engaged.
15:30Kitchen's on a fast one right here, but take a look.
15:32That's your overall.
15:33That's out of every 250 that's been on track so far.
15:37Hayden Deegan fastest out of all of them.
15:39Then it's East Division, guys, all the way down to eighth.
15:42This man right here, Levi Kitchen, will be eighth overall
15:44out of everyone, second in the Western Division,
15:47but he's still on a fast one.
15:48Can he better that 56.0?
15:50He's just not doing those two lines.
15:52He didn't do the double across the start and jump over the big there,
15:55didn't triple out of that corner, so that could have something to do
15:59with the back, not putting yourself in a position
16:01where you can make a big mistake.
