01:17gap here but keep your eyes on the man that is in third place right now Ken Roxxon
01:23he'll be looking to dispose of Justin Cooper very quickly and get out and chase down the championship
01:28leader speed through the whoops that was awesome yeah Kenny's on fire he wants to try to get around
01:34Justin because as you can see that 96 is starting to separate himself but I think Kenny's look look great

01:40all day long and last couple weekends so sure he feels like he has the speed but he's got to

01:45around the 32 that looked like a little bit of you when I'm chasing this dude

01:5594 of Ken Roxxon has been so good all season long where he's been great in a lot of areas

02:02explosive has a lot of intensity early on in these races he can really use that to his benefit right

02:13the corners it's going to be making a little bit difficult for Kenny to pass what he's got to do

02:46are running one two right now yeah just at an intensity level what they're racing for not saying
02:50the other guys aren't but just brings that heat up and the difference between last weekend and this
02:55this weekend is Kenny was in the opposite position where Hunter was so maybe this is freeing

03:03we're watching battle for fifth fourth and fifth right here yeah Jorge Prado the Spanish
03:09aboard the 26th there the Red Bull KTM he sits fourth and then Malcolm Stewart there he is
03:14aboard the Rockstar energy factory Husqvarna and Cooper Webb behind him
03:18timing and scoring Hunter Lawrence and Ken Roxxon almost identical lap times there 45.1 this is a very short

03:28time 45 seconds rarely do they have anything this short no more than only 50 seconds tell you what
03:35though RC Roxxon has eaten into that lead by three tenths of a second the Suzuki man is not done

03:41with nine minutes 13 left plus a lap watch this section of the track as they come through these
03:48walks watch Prado and watch Malcolm they're going at about less than 15 miles an hour here and they blast

03:55third gear up to almost 60 miles an hour in that short span there you have wide open pull and

04:01just shows you how in control these guys are but I talked to my brother between the race he felt

04:06comfortable here I think with the fans being up here in the dog pound here in Cleveland I'm sure he's

04:11motivation as he slides up to inside of Jorge Jorge did a good job of getting out of that section
04:16yeah and you can see the corners like the like we showed you guys coming off that break right here

04:22it makes it makes it so difficult when it's just one big bowl turn and you don't have multi lines
04:28very very difficult to pass
04:31let's not forget about the resilience of the 27
04:35Malcolm Stewart started this year with a broken scapula and still rode under that injury
04:41look at that for a quick switchback and Prado knows that he's all over him
04:44yeah I like that for a passing opportunity to get that corner right makes the guy have to decide on

04:50next corner after the mechanics there go to inside or outside you might go to slide up the inside so
04:55yeah you'll see these guys slide the rear end of their bike out very early in the corner to try
05:01to get a good
05:02drive down really that's their only opportunity to make a pass in a corner
05:08there are two riders that both have one podium each this year they're in search of their second
05:14and you're talking about a guy who's a multi-time motocross world champion
05:19but he is still learning his way on supercross here in the United States
05:23the Spaniard is doing better every time out
05:27oh there goes Malcolm again
05:30trying to get him what you're seeing Jorge's slowing down so Malcolm can't cut underneath
05:33eventually he keeps doing that he's going to get that pass
05:37I think Malcolm do you think he's going to run out of patience if this continues to carry on James
05:43if he had any he didn't start with but if he does
05:47well that's what you're going to say the move would be hit right here
05:51so Malcolm Stewart is in search of his first top five in a triple crown race this year
05:57and there he leaps his way into fourth place

06:13oh gee he's not going to settle there's absolutely no settle at all in your brother James as you know
06:19and speaking with him earlier he's kind of in a different situation to so many of these guys out here
06:25because here we are we said with four rounds to go attrition sets in they're deep into their season
06:30but for Malcolm after the injury lead that you talked about recovering from he said he's still on the up
06:34his trajectory is still kind of like racing into this season
06:38so he said I'm on the way up everybody else is kind of where they are and he felt very
06:42positive about his situation today
06:43yeah no I agree with that and also brought the kids so you know when they show up
06:48Uncle Mount has to show up as well as Cooper Webb makes the pass around Jorge Prado
06:52but go back a few weekends ago I was waiting to see what would happen between Jorge and Cooper Webb
06:57remember Ricky they got into it
06:58yeah but clean pass and Cooper's on his way
07:01yeah Cooper Webb was really fast earlier today in time qualifying practice
07:06he's one of the front runners for sure he just falling victim of a bad start here early and it's
07:13so hard to make up that
07:14that track position when you don't get a good start

07:59I think he might be raising his own sorority over there
08:02try Delta Webb possibly
08:03but you just wonder the emotions that he's feeling here
08:07wife delivers her child he has to hop on an airplane
08:10but he looks pretty focused here you know he's still chasing this championship
08:14a lot of people counted him out he's 20 plus points down
08:16but a guy like Cooper Webb is never going to give in until it's over
08:20he finds his way to maybe climb up another position or two
08:23he could find his way on the podium tonight
08:24well you talk about Cooper Webb right here
08:27and I haven't ruled him out or a guy like Justin Cooper as well
08:31but listen this man won the triple crown in Houston
08:34and didn't even win a race throughout that night
08:37so that's another great thing about the triple crown
08:40you can win the overall and not have a race win
08:43yeah I agree with you in a big scheme of things
08:45we go back with Ken Robson three weekends ago
08:49he was 31 points out of the lead
08:50and last weekend he's within five
08:52so Cooper Webb is well within that
08:54and he knows championship wise
08:56there's still an opportunity there
08:58and the points paying format in this triple crown
09:01is the lowest amount of points is what wins the night
09:05it's kind of like golf scoring
09:08back up front
09:09what a start to this triple crown for Hunter Lawrence
09:12and James this is an incredible ride by Hunter Lawrence
09:16and the reason that I believe that is because
09:18number one he got a great start
09:19and with everything on the line
09:21you were talking about it before we went on there
09:23how important it would be for either Kenny or Hunter
09:26to win this race from a championship perspective
09:29well he's doing a great job out in front
09:31let's hear from the man himself
09:36just trying to get one race at a time under my belt
09:39we're doing really well
09:41we've had a great season
09:42I'm just grateful

09:44I've worked so hard for this
09:45I'm enjoying it
09:48yeah just trying to take it all in honestly

09:51because there'll be a time when I don't race anymore

10:05it's massive in a cool venue

10:08so yeah it's going to be a great weekend
10:10yeah that's the one thing I love about Hunter
10:12he does take it one race at a time
10:14but as you were saying Ricky
10:16I feel like there are certain parts of the season
10:18where you just kind of make it happen
10:20and I feel like the last couple of weekends
10:21with Hunter Lawrence being tied with Eli Tomac
10:23you know in this race
10:25he has an opportunity to get some more points
10:27on Ken Roxanne
10:28and what that does
10:29it gives him a little bit of wiggle room
10:30in case something happens
10:32he has a little bit more room
10:33so this is a pivotal night for him
10:35or day for him
10:36to be able to get this first win JT
10:39it is James
10:39and when you really think about the season
10:41it has been so much about execution
10:44for Hunter Lawrence
10:45every time he's needed to kind of rise up
10:47and answer the bell
10:48he's done so
10:49last week was a perfect example of that
10:51and even here in race one
10:53when Ken Roxanne got into second
10:54we all knew
10:55Ricky mentioned it
10:56Ken Roxanne was going to throw in all the intensity
10:58try to close that gap immediately
11:00and Hunter responded
11:01even though he makes a mistake there
11:03he was able to respond
11:04put in the same lap time as Ken Roxanne
11:06and once Kenny realized he wasn't able to close the gap
11:09it really felt like that was a pivotal moment here in race one
11:12well that was almost a pivotal moment right there for Hunter Lawrence
11:15he got some serious whiplash there
11:17comes up short
11:18this track is super difficult right now
11:21a lot of ruts forming up in between the rhythm lanes
11:24and it's getting slick
11:26bottom box
11:27you're looking at the Troy Lee designed Red Bull
11:30Ducati behind this man here
11:32Chase Sexton
11:33want to talk about the next guy
11:34there he is
11:35the 31 year old Frenchman Dylan Ferrandez
11:37multi-time 250 Supercross champ
11:39he's an outdoor 450 motocross champion
11:42and this is the first season for this manufacturer
11:45this team
11:46this outfit
11:47unfortunately his teammate Justin Barsha was injured at the opening round
11:50but this guy here is coming off
11:52his best result of the season
11:54and the best result ever
11:55for this TLD Red Bull Ducati
11:57sixth last weekend in Nashville
11:59that was awesome
12:00oh fantastic ride
12:02especially on a very difficult track
12:04that track last week was dry
12:07very very hard
12:08but no surprise
12:09plenty capable of these type of results for sure
12:13but going back to what you were talking about James
12:15and what a win could do
12:16for a guy like Hunter Lawrence
12:18that means he can go into next week at Philly
12:20and have a little less pressure
12:23not be in a must situation

12:27just to give a little weather update
12:28you can see how shiny it's getting in some of those sections
12:31the rain has picked up quite a bit
12:33now
12:33I don't think we're going to turn into a full mud situation
12:36but what James mentioned earlier about how slippery it is on this racetrack
12:39that is going to be the challenge
12:41because it's definitely gotten worse over the last 10 minutes
12:43yeah just looking out of our booth
12:46definitely coming down harder
12:48as time winds down
12:50when the clock hits zero
12:52depending on where the leader Hunter Lawrence is
12:54there's either going to be one or two laps left
12:58a little further back
12:59is Chase Sexton in seven
13:01and then his teammate Garrett Marchbanks is behind him
13:04and Justin Hill coming off a season best
13:06fifth in Nashville
13:07Hill runs in the 10th position
13:10yeah when you think about the number four monster into Kawasaki Ricky
13:14this is kind of the same route he had last weekend
13:16you know not the best of stars
13:18looked like he just kind of got out there and rode
13:20and made his way up into the top five
13:22and I just think that shows you how much talent this guy has
13:25and I'm sure it's hard for him to kind of deal with that
13:27actually Chase wants to win
13:28he's a champion
13:29but baby steps for the number four into Kawasaki
13:32well a hundred percent
13:33and like we talked about at the top of the show
13:35and I talked went to the off season
13:37and as far as odds go
13:39this is what would have been one of the favorites
13:41and it's been a challenging year
13:44needless to say for the number four
13:46that Monster Energy Kawasaki team Chase Sexton
13:48last time we had a triple crown it was at Indianapolis
13:51and this man here
13:52he came away with a victory
13:55he has started this triple crown afternoon
13:58here in Cleveland
13:59on the sports return to this city for the first time
14:02in more than three decades
14:03he was on board that HRC Honda Progressive Machine
14:07and Hunter Lawrence wins again
14:10and starts this triple crown afternoon
14:13in the best possible way
14:15that was an impressive ride James
14:17yep
14:18I mean you talk about it
14:19there's times where you just need to step up
14:21and he did it right there wow
14:24at one point
14:25Robson was as close as 1.3 seconds
14:28to Hunter Lawrence
14:29the winning margin ended up
14:31five and a half seconds
14:34yeah there's probably at some point in this race
14:36Kenny decided
14:37I'm not going to be able to get him
14:38we got another two races so
14:40and James do you think that will affect
14:42Ken at all on the mental side
14:45moving forward with these next two rounds
14:47or next two races
14:48not this Kenny
14:49not this version of Kenny
14:50I think he's in a solid spot
