Land Seller Dragged, Assaulted in Broad Daylight Near Police Station in Pilibhit

Pilibhit: A shocking incident of alleged abduction attempt and assault has surfaced from Puranpur in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit district, where a land seller was forcibly dragged into a car and beaten after a property deal dispute.

According to reports, the incident took place near the registry office and the gate of Puranpur Kotwali police station. The seller had reportedly completed a land registry but was not paid around ₹80 lakh–₹90 lakh by the buyer.

When the seller demanded the pending payment, the accused allegedly resorted to violence. He was forcibly dragged into a car, assaulted, and an attempt was made to abduct him. During the struggle, the victim managed to raise an alarm and later jumped out of the vehicle to save his life.

Locals rushed to the spot upon hearing the commotion and rescued the victim, forcing the accused to flee without making the payment.

The accused, reportedly from Haryana, allegedly carried out the act openly near the police station, creating panic in the area. A video of the incident, showing the victim being dragged and beaten, has gone viral on social media.

Police said that based on the complaint received at Puranpur police station, an FIR has been registered under relevant sections. Preliminary investigation suggests the matter is linked to a financial dispute over a land transaction.

Further legal action is underway as police continue to investigate the case.
