“₹80,000 Dispute Turns Violent!” Vegetable Vendor Attacked, Shots Fired in Hapur

Hapur: A vegetable vendor was brutally attacked in Gohara village under the Babugarh police station area of Hapur, triggering panic after assailants opened fire in the air. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, and the video is now rapidly circulating on social media.

According to reports, the attack is linked to a financial dispute. The victim had allegedly lent around ₹80,000 to a man, and the two had been involved in a long-standing conflict over repayment. On Wednesday night at around 9 PM, when the vendor demanded his money back, an argument broke out.

Soon after, the accused reportedly returned in a car along with seven to eight accomplices. They allegedly abused and assaulted the vendor, vandalised his shop, and fired multiple rounds in the air to create terror in the area.

The sudden violence led to widespread panic, with locals rushing to take shelter inside their homes and nearby shops.

Police reached the spot promptly after receiving information and managed to bring the situation under control. Based on the victim’s complaint, a case has been registered against two named individuals and six to seven unidentified persons.

Station House Officer Munish Chauhan said that multiple teams have been formed to trace and arrest the accused, and assured that all those involved will be apprehended soon.
