Siddharthnagar: Allegations of serious negligence and misconduct have surfaced at the blood bank of Madhav Prasad Tripathi Medical College in Uttar Pradesh’s Siddharthnagar, after a video showing staff allegedly misbehaving with patient attendants went viral on social media.

According to the attendants, who are residents of Kamariya Buzurg village under Kolhui police station area, they were made to wait for nearly three hours at the blood bank despite the patient requiring urgent blood for surgery.

They alleged that even though a donor was present, the blood was not drawn for hours, causing critical delay in treatment. The attendants claimed that blood was provided only after prolonged waiting.

The situation escalated when the attendants questioned the delay. They alleged that a blood bank employee, identified as Alok Kumar Mishra, verbally abused them and behaved in an insulting manner.

The viral video reportedly captures the staff’s rude behaviour, further intensifying concerns over patient care and accountability in government healthcare facilities.

The incident has raised serious questions about the functioning of the health department and the conduct of medical staff, especially in emergency situations.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
