A controversial video from a government school in Rewa has sparked outrage after it showed a principal allegedly making a student fan her during school hours.

The incident took place at Government Middle School Panasi in Teonthar area. In the viral clip, Principal Varsha Manjhi is seen sitting on a chair with earphones on, while a Class 6 student stands beside her, continuously fanning her.

The video, which surfaced a day after the incident, also shows the student appearing uncomfortable and repeatedly adjusting his hand due to fatigue.

Following the controversy, Collector Pratibha Pal reprimanded District Education Officer Ramraj Mishra and ordered an inquiry into the matter.

Officials confirmed that a three-member committee has been constituted to visit the school, interact with students, and submit a report. Further action will be taken based on the findings.

Attempts to contact the accused principal for her response were unsuccessful as her phone remained switched off.

The student’s family, belonging to an underprivileged background, stated that they did not lodge a complaint out of fear for the child’s future, but admitted that such behaviour in schools is inappropriate.

Meanwhile, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has demanded strict action, alleging that such incidents reflect growing misuse of authority in schools.

The incident has once again raised serious concerns over student welfare and discipline within government educational institutions.
