Brutal Night Murder in Dharwad: Youth Congress Leader Hacked to Death Inside Home, Family Witnesses Attack

The murder of Youth Congress leader Fairoz Khan Pathan has sent shockwaves across Dharwad, with chilling details emerging about the late-night attack inside his residence.

The incident took place on the night of April 10 between 9:30 pm and 10:00 pm in the Hashmi Nagar/Mehboob Nagar area. According to police, Fairoz was sitting outside his house when an assailant approached him. As he tried to escape inside, four to five masked attackers chased him into the house and brutally assaulted him with sharp weapons in his bedroom.

Fairoz sustained severe head and neck injuries and died on the spot.

Contrary to initial reports, his mother and sister were present at the time of the attack. They reportedly attempted to shield him and suffered minor injuries during the assault.

N Shashikumar confirmed that a murder case has been registered at Dharwad Suburban Police Station. An FIR has been filed against Mohammed Shah and his associates, with the family alleging prior rivalry.

Police said the attackers fled with two mobile phones belonging to the victim. CCTV footage from nearby areas has been recovered and is being analysed as a key lead in the investigation.

Preliminary findings suggest personal or political rivalry as a possible motive, though the exact cause is yet to be established.

Multiple police teams have been formed to trace the accused. While no arrests have been confirmed so far, officials say they have obtained crucial leads.

The body has been sent to KIMS Hospital in Hubballi for post-mortem. Security has been tightened in the area to prevent any law and order situation.

In a tragic detail, Fairoz was scheduled to get married on April 24, just two weeks after the incident.
