00:00Mid-morning drama along the priority bus route today as a police officer is seen chasing one of three suspects
00:06who attempted to rob the maxi taxi in which the police officer was a passenger.
00:11During the chase near 3rd Avenue in Barataria, the police officer stumbles and falls near another maxi taxi as the
00:17suspect momentarily evades capture.
00:20But the officer luckily regained his footing and had no major injuries.
00:24Investigators say the three men entered a maxi taxi shortly after 11am and announced a hold-up before the police
00:30officers sprang into action.
00:32One of the other suspects who attempted to flee was struck by a vehicle and later held it by the
00:36police.
00:37Within minutes of the attempted hold-up of the maxi taxi, police had apprehended all three suspects who were handcuffed
00:43as a curious crowd gathered.
00:45Some persons appeared to be infuriated by the suspects and the bold attempt to rob the maxi taxi passengers.
00:51Investigators said the men are expected to be placed on an ID parade and are expected to later face charges
00:56arising out of this incident and any others they may have been previously involved in.
