00:00Two people are hospitalized following multi-vehicle crash involving an unmarked police vehicle early Friday morning.
00:08Police say around 1.30 a.m., a constable attached to the DCP operations unit was driving a Ford Ranger westbound near Popeye's entrance city when he lost control.
00:20The vehicle struck a lamppost, crossed the median, and collided with three other vehicles.
00:25During the crash, the female passenger was ejected from the vehicle and injured.
00:31Both she and the officer were taken to Arima Hospital in serious condition.
00:35The officer was later transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Science Complex for further evaluation.
00:42And police are also investigating an armed robbery at the Mount St. George Lotto Center along Wynwood Main Road in Tobago.
00:50According to reports around 5.35 p.m., two armed men, one with a gun and the other with a cutlass, confronted a female auto operator and a male companion.
01:02The suspect, armed with the cutlass, assaulted a man and robbed him of cash and a cell phone, while the gunman threatened the female operator, forcing her to open the caching area.
01:12The suspects escaped with more than $4,000 along with personal items in a waiting vehicle.
01:19Police say investigations are ongoing.
