Is there a possibility we see any of these players traded during the NFL Draft?
Transcript
00:00The draft will heat up. So here's what I want to do. I want to talk about some trade stuff
00:06here. We got some players names and I want to know the meter one to 10 on if you think
00:11they get dealt during the draft. But I want to start with this rumor here. This something may help both
00:17teams. Kansas City. It involves Kansas City and San Francisco.
00:21We know the situation that is happening with Trent Williams in San Francisco and the Kansas City Chiefs invested with
00:28a running game with Kenneth Walker, but they still need a tackle. The rumor is they are ready to pounce
00:34on to get Trent Williams during the draft. Rico Beard. This is your team. This is your man. This is
00:41your boombox. So they're just what are they trading?
00:45It doesn't say what, but they're saying they're waiting to see what happens there. And on draft day, they could
00:51pounce.
00:51I guess I would need to see what you get back in return because Williams is he's an anomaly. He's
00:57really good, but he's often injured and he's 38. So his shelf life is about two more days.
01:04But for those two days, you're going to get something really good at tackle long term. I probably wouldn't. And
01:11if you're the Niners, the sad reality is he's held them hostage for years that they didn't draft his replacement
01:16because they were afraid that he was going to leave because they do this every year.
01:21If you're offering something worthwhile, I'll offer you a third round pick. No. Cool. Enjoy the 38 million cap hit
01:30and an angry player. No, I'm saying I'm Kansas City. Right. I know what's going on in your house. Right.
01:35So that's the hard part with a lot of these.
01:37I think you need him more than whatever value comes back. You need him for one last drive. Correct.
01:44And this may also tell you the quality of tackles that are out there in free agency because the other
01:50name it says Kansas City is looking at Taylor Decker.
01:56No. Not just my answers now. It's tough in the streets, man. It is. It really is. And they're not
02:03high enough in the draft. Well, they don't have a first round pick. So whatever.
02:08Let's get to some names here regarding getting traded during the draft day or not. Start with George Pickens, who
02:16was franchise tag in Dallas.
02:18Chris, your meter from one to 10 on if he gets traded. Oh, right. One. I just he's a cowboy.
02:25Yeah. Jerry Jones is he just likes the drama. But yeah, he's he's a cowboy.
02:30Next name on this list. Another wide receiver. We talked about how he had some issues last year.
02:36Never, never really had a good year. Brian Thomas Jr. for the Jags five. There's just been too much smoke
02:43and it's a new GM.
02:44It's a new coach. They didn't draft this guy. He had a terrible year and their offense moved on.
02:52I mean, look, I'm not telling you this guy's some superstar, but like Parker Washington was really productive.
02:57Yeah. The running game, the duality having to to David, there's a lot of smoke and there's a lot of
03:04smoke with the Giants.
03:06I don't know. I'll say five. I see your five and I raise it to about seven.
03:10I don't think at the end of the day he's going to be a jag before the draft is over.
03:14And it may be, you know what? He may end up going for like a second round pick in next
03:20year's draft.
03:20But I don't think he's going to be a jag because, as you say, there is a lot of smoke.
03:25Let me close this. It's really who gives the best deal.
03:27I'll trade you Dexter Lawrence. You give me Brian Thomas and a two.
03:33I would say yes to that. Change of scenery for both guys.
03:37I'll tell you one thing. Harbaugh stepped to that podium today and he called Dexie's bluff.
03:41Yes, he did. Nobody's untradeable.
03:44Okay, then we're off and running.
03:47Okay.
03:49Two this year or two next year?
03:51Two this year.
03:52I'm just asking.
03:53Man, two next year.
03:55Oh, he's trying to hurt the Giants.
03:56Go ahead, David.
03:57This may not be that good.
03:59I would say that based on this with Brian Thomas and our conversation,
04:03Rico, I'm real close to leaning your direction on wide receivers.
04:06Dime a dozen.
04:07I'm real close to leaning in that direction.
04:09Yeah, because you're going to trade D.K. Metcalf, aren't you?
04:12Well, that's next on the list.
04:13Because they are flashy and they score, but in the end, man,
04:17somebody comes out of college just as fast and just as flashy.
04:21That is the next player on my list here.
04:24It is D.K. Metcalf.
04:26And if we remember, we should all remember in Detroit,
04:29the situation that happened with that fan
04:32and then the stipulation that was in the contract
04:34that there is no more guaranteed money on his deal now.
04:38They may trade him.
04:39And I'm thinking nine on this one.
04:42Okay.
04:43Conspiracy theory.
04:44Did the Steelers send the fan down to say, okay, I can't go that far.
04:50Hey, camera guy, make sure you focus in this area
04:53because there may be an altercation before the game.
04:56Yeah, I thought that this was going to be a good match, but I'm with you.
05:01I'm not going to go as high as a nine, but I do think that if he's going to be
05:06available,
05:06he's going to be at one of the top ends that maybe your Giants go after him, Mike,
05:11or somebody was like, you know what?
05:13We need one more wide receiver.
05:15Let's take him.
05:16If things don't go right for the Rams,
05:18maybe he goes out to L.A. and goes to play with Stafford.
05:21I can see that.
05:24Next player on the list, not a wide receiver.
05:27This guy may be washed in my mind.
05:29Alvin Kamara.
05:33Two.
05:34Expensive, old, running back.
05:38Two.
05:38Yeah, they would take a $21.4 million dead.
05:41Yeah, here's the thing.
05:42I would say none, zero, because I would just wait for you to cut him.
05:47If I really wanted him, but I'm not going to trade you for him.
05:51No.
05:51So I'm throwing this name out here just because he was already dealt
05:55and then it was canceled.
05:56I just want to know, can it still revive itself in a trade Max Crosby?
06:04Two.
06:07I just don't.
06:08It would be too funny.
06:09It would be too awesome.
06:11And I think it's very hard to go back down that road again.
06:15Plus, they spent a ton of money on defense.
06:17What would make that deep?
06:19What's the final piece to the defense?
06:20Ironically, Max Crosby.
06:22Go look, man.
06:24They spent a ton of money on some very good players.
06:27It actually ended up working out there by mistake.
06:30Hey, David, can I add something to this real quick?
06:32Let's go.
06:32It's just funny because I saw this and I thought it was ridiculous.
06:37So, Mike, David, I want to float this past you.
06:40Michigan State forward Cohen Carr goes into the draft and he pulls an Antonio Gate.
06:46No.
06:47Zero.
06:47Only because he came out and said that there's NFL teams, including the Chicago Bears, with interest of him becoming
06:55that receiver because he has a 51-inch vertical.
06:58Just curious.
06:59He pulls an Antonio Gates, gives up basketball, and goes into football.
07:03I don't care.
07:04I'm not saying he'll be a Hall of Fame.
07:05I don't care what he does, but I would never waste a pick.
07:08That's like taking Manu.
07:10No.
07:10Yeah, that's not a pick.
07:11That's saying you would get invited to off-season workouts after the draft.
07:16Plus, he's crazy to give up hoops.
07:18Stay in college.
07:19Make another $4 million.
07:22No.
07:22Like I said, he said it on a podcast, and I was just like, oh, interesting.
07:28One final player.
07:30Ben Johnson would get a new toy.
07:32Yeah, but it's a project.
07:34I know, but he's got Iceman throwing to him.
07:36Okay.
07:37One final player here, Kayvon Thibodeau for the New York Giants.
07:43Save five.
07:44Look, he's a luxury at this point because they have Brian Burns and they have Abdul Carter.
07:49And when he's healthy, he's been productive, but he's been banged up.
07:53You got to go.
07:53Two years ago, he had an 11-and-a-half sack campaign.
07:55I thought everything was going to be fine.
07:57He got hurt again.
07:58I think there's enough need.
08:00Somebody might flip you a three or a four.
08:02I was about to say, if I walk in and say, I'll give you a four for him.
08:05No, I'd hang on to it.
08:07A three.
08:08A top 100 pick, I'll move him.
08:10Any lower than that?
08:11I may as well keep the damn guy.
08:12Why?
08:13Because you never can have enough pass.
08:14So a third-round compensatory pick.
08:16You take that?
08:16I'd probably do it because Harbaugh wants to rebuild this thing and draft players that he wants.
08:22I'm always a fan of trades like this if you have a new coach.
08:25If you have a new regime.
08:26You're in your honeymoon period.
08:28Yeah, you got to give the guy enough lottery tickets to do what he wants to do.
08:31I'm fine hanging on to Kayvon.
08:33How much does he do?
08:34Because now I've got a rotation.
08:35Well, it's his fifth-year option, so I don't know, 14, 15 million bucks.
08:38Something like that.
08:40It's not even real.
08:42Who cares?
08:42Who cares?
