00:12We talked about this this week. I've talked about it with every draft person we've had on.
00:17And everybody agrees that this may be the all time unknown this early in the draft in terms of what
00:25teams are thinking.
00:25From essentially number two overall, the Jets at two, through the rest of the first round, it is a total
00:33guessing game.
00:35Usually you're guessing from about 10 on, maybe sometimes a little bit earlier, a little bit later.
00:40But now you're guessing from two on.
00:44Here are eight mock drafts with eight different players within the last six days mocked to Washington.
00:55Daniel Jeremiah, NFL.com, just put out his final mock draft.
01:00He mocks Jordan Tyson, wide receiver, Arizona State, to Washington at seven.
01:08I think that's the first time I've seen Jordan Tyson mocked to Washington.
01:14I've seen him to Washington after a tradeback, but not at seven.
01:18I'm sure you guys will send me five different mock drafts that have Jordan Tyson at seven.
01:23But Daniel Jeremiah this morning, Jordan Tyson to Washington at seven.
01:29ESPN's Matt Miller yesterday with his final mock.
01:33Linebacker, Ohio State, Sonny Stiles to Washington.
01:37Two days ago, Peter Schrager from ESPN.
01:40Carnell Tate, wide receiver, Ohio State to Washington.

01:48Jeremiah Love, running back, Notre Dame to Washington at seven.
01:52CBS Sports.com's Ryan Wilson, Reuben Bain to Washington at number seven.
01:59Todd McShay, the ringer, Mansoor Delane to Washington at seven.
02:04Dane Brugler, the athletic, David Bailey to Washington.
02:09That actually would be a dream scenario, I think, for the team.
02:15I don't see Bailey making it to seven.
02:17Most people have him going off the board, two to the Jets.
02:21But then again, a lot of people have Reese going off the board at number two to the Jets.
02:25And then Yahoo Sports, Caleb Downs to Washington at seven.
02:30I just gave you eight different players mocked to Washington at number seven in the draft.
02:37That is a lot to have eight different players mocked to the same team inside the top ten.
02:46You get that when you're picking 18, 22, 28, 30.
02:52You usually don't get that at number seven.
02:55So why is that?
02:56Well, some people are saying that teams are just not giving out information.
03:02There just isn't as much leaking as there has been in previous years.
03:08I don't know if that's true or not.
03:10This is not a time of the year that I'm super familiar with in terms of, you know, trying to
03:17garner information,
03:19especially from the group right now in Ashburn.
03:23The previous regime, it was tough to shut anybody up.
03:26I mean, even if you were on the periphery of it, you could find somebody that would tell you something
03:32about what they were thinking.
03:34But we know that Adam Peters doesn't say a lot.
03:37And I don't think our organization says a lot.
03:39And somebody mentioned, I think it was Jeremy Fowler from ESPN.
03:46I think it was.
03:48He said that the Jets have never been this tight-lipped in the history of their organization.
03:55So it may be that, or it may be the teams are still trying to figure it out because there
04:01are a lot of close calls.
04:03And there are a lot of close calls because there is a general feeling about the draft tonight that it
04:09is weak, you know, top to bottom.
04:12But especially at the top of this draft in terms of legitimate, excited, you know, scouts, front offices about players
04:23that they think will end up being can't miss.
04:27Now, you get that every year.
04:29You get some can't misses, and they miss all the time.
04:32They miss two-thirds of the time.
04:34Keep in mind, and I'm not going to get sick of saying this because it's just true.
04:39And that is this NFL draft that so many obsess about.
04:45And it is entertaining, no doubt.
04:48And the draft is very important to the construction of an NFL roster.
04:53But the bottom line is these teams themselves spend millions and millions and millions of dollars to try to perfect
05:03this process.
05:04And no one's ever perfected it.
05:08Perfecting it means hitting on about 4 out of 10.
05:12If you hit on 40% of your picks three years later, 40% of the draft from three years
05:20ago is contributing in a meaningful way to your roster, that's a successful draft.
05:26It's amazing how much attention gets paid to something that is so universally teams, pundits, you know, media, fans, wrong.
05:41But it's fun.
05:42And tonight's going to be entertaining because it's going to be a wild ride, you know, after Mendoza goes to
05:48the Raiders at one.
05:50I think the key moment for our team will be at three.
05:56You know, what does Arizona do at three?
05:59Let's just assume that Reese or Bailey, one of those two, goes number two overall to the New York Jets.
06:07That seems to be, you know, a consensus feeling that it's one of the two.
06:13Now, I've seen just as many Baileys as I've seen Reese's.
06:16And I've read multiple reporters say, no, the word is it's going to be Bailey.
06:22And then another reporter who's fairly credible saying, you know, my information is telling me that this has been Reese
06:28all along.
06:29I mean, it's really something about the reporting about these picks because everybody's reporting something different.
06:36Nobody seems to be in agreement with, you know, that there's a consensus agreement on anything.
06:42Except for that Bailey or Reese will go number two to the Jets.
06:47So that then leaves the Cardinals.
06:50What do they do at three?
06:52There's been a lot of talk, a lot of talk, and a lot of buzz about would they take Jeremiah
06:57Love?
06:58I don't know why if you're an Arizona Cardinals, you know, organization, you would sign a running back like Tyler
07:05Algier in free agency to, you know, pair him with James Conner.
07:10That's a pretty good running back room.
07:12And then take the number three pick in the draft to take that position.
07:19Now, if they believe what I think the majority believes, and that is Jeremiah Love is going to be, you
07:25know, the next Barry Sanders, the next Eric Dickerson, the next Emmitt Smith, all of them combined.
07:33If, if, if, if they believe that that's who he's going to become fine.
07:38All right.
07:39But man, they already have, they spent money on their running back room.
07:44They knew they had the third pick.
07:46I bet they don't take the running back.
07:49I bet it's posturing to try to get somebody to trade up with the Cardinals.
07:53And if they don't trade out of that pick, I think it would be one or the other, Reese or
08:01Bailey, whoever doesn't go to the Jets at two.
08:03And that, you know, would be kind of a key here.
08:08Because if Love goes to three, then you've got a really good chance at somebody like Stiles.
08:13And I'm talking about players that a lot of you hope fall to seven.
08:18You know, you need Arizona to take one of the two pass rushers if you want the Stiles-Love combination.
08:27You know, I think I should have started with that.
08:30I think a lot of you, and I don't want to speak for everybody, but based on all the calls
08:33we've taken over the last couple of weeks,
08:36my sense is that, you know, our fan base would be thrilled if they end up sticking and picking at
08:43seven, either Sonny Stiles or Jeremiah Love.
08:46And to get those two players available or one of those two players available, Arizona's the linchpin, I would guess.
08:55Because if they take either one of those two players, the chances of either one of those two players or
09:01the player that doesn't get selected at three of being there at seven are slim and none.
09:06There are just too many teams from Tennessee to the Giants in the next two selections after Arizona that would
09:12likely take one or the other.
09:14You know, whichever one was not taken by Arizona.
09:17So if you're hoping that there's a chance that Stiles or Love is available at seven, you need the Cardinals
09:25to either stay there and pick Reese or Bailey,
09:29the player that the Jets don't take, or they trade to somebody who wants to get, you know, an offensive
09:38lineman or wants to get up.
09:40That would probably be the way somebody would move or maybe somebody moves up to take Love there.
09:47Cardinals taking a running back does not make any sense to me.
09:51I like their running back room.
09:55Connor, Algier, those are good backs.
09:58Algier can catch the ball.
10:00Connor can catch the ball.
10:01They're both veterans.
10:02They're both smart.
10:03They're both guys that can pass block.
10:06Man, when you're the Arizona Cardinals and you have all these needs and you're in a division with the Rams,
10:12the Seahawks, and the 49ers,
10:14I don't know how you take a running back at number three.
10:18That's just not the kind of positional value.
10:21And I know that positional value is getting thrown out in this draft, but it's too high for a running
10:28back.
10:29Even Jeremiah Love, if you believe Jeremiah Love, is the next greatest thing.
10:37For us, look, I've said this now for a week and a half running.
10:44If it's Bailey somehow, and there is a world in which Bailey falls to seven or Reese falls to seven,
10:51there is a world where that happens.
10:54Let's just say the Cardinals, the Jets take Reese, the Cardinals take Love, the Titans end up taking Stiles, the
11:04Giants decide in that spot they're going to go for Tate or Tyson,
11:10and then the Browns go Mauinoa, they go offensive linemen, there's a chance.
11:16I mean, it's a long shot.
11:17You'd have to hit the inside straight of the top six picks.
11:21I mean, they would have to come up, you know, all one suit.
11:26Not necessarily the description of an inside straight, but you get my point.
11:30For somebody like Bailey to fall, I would love Bailey to fall.
11:34I would also wonder if Bailey fell, clearly.
11:37If Love fell to seven at this point with all of the hype around Love, I'd wonder.
11:42I mean, I already wonder about him.
11:44But Bailey, Bain, those are the two for me that I am sticking and picking if either one of those
11:53two players is available.
11:55And if both of those players are gone, I am really trying to trade back.
12:03Because I'm just not convinced that anybody else is transcendent, that anybody else is going to be superstar.
12:12Now, I would not mind if they took Sonny Stiles.
12:14I think he is super intriguing.
12:16And I do think that he is a player that you could plug in with a super high floor.
12:22And I'm not saying his ceiling is low.
12:24I'm not saying that at all.
12:26But he would be a player based on what you're looking for need-wise that you could plug in.
12:32And he could play there for years.
12:35And I would not mind that pick.
12:37But I also am not as convinced about him as I am about Bailey and Bain.
12:43And so those are the two players that I'd stick and pick.
12:47Everybody else, I'd be looking to trade back.
12:49And then if you can't trade back and you have to pick there at seven, and Bain and Bailey are
12:56both gone,
12:56for me, it would probably be Stiles if he's there.
13:02And then if it's not Stiles, I would certainly hope that, you know, if they were going to go offensive,
13:09they would go Tate over Love.
13:11That would be my preference.
13:13And if they went to Lane at seven because they couldn't trade back, I wouldn't hate that either.
13:20That's kind of where I am tonight.
13:23Bailey and Bain, absolute stick and pick for me.
13:27If neither one of those two were there, I hope I have an opportunity to go back to nine,
13:33go back to 11, nine with Kansas City, 11 with Miami, 13 with the Rams, 16 with the Jets,
13:42and pick up potentially, not at nine, you're not going to pick up a day two, a second round pick,
13:48but 11 and back further, you might be able to get back that second rounder that you gave up for
13:56Tunsell
13:57last year.
13:58I would do that.
13:59And then at 11, maybe Delane is still there.
14:03Maybe Tate's still there.
14:05Maybe Tyson is still there.
14:08Maybe Lemon, you like him, he's still there.
14:11Maybe a guy like Cooper Jr. is there.
14:13You know, maybe Mesidor.
14:15I'm a big Akeem Mesidor fan.
14:17I know a lot of people aren't because he's 25 years old, but the two ends at Miami were dominant
14:23college football players playing against a ton of NFL offensive linemen in terms of their potential.
14:33So, that's my preference.
14:38Volume of picks I'm going for if Bain or Bailey are not there.
14:45Those are the two that I'm sticking and picking.
14:47And if it's not those two and you tell me they picked somebody, I hope it's Stiles.
14:53With Downs, I'm looking to trade back.
14:56If they picked Downs at seven over Stiles or over Love, I'd trust them on it because to
15:03me, you know, Downs and Stiles, probably Stiles over Downs for me, but not by a lot.
15:11That's where I am.
15:12Where are you?
15:14What do you want to happen tonight at seven?
15:18I gave you my stick and pick and I gave you, you know, some, if they end up picking,
15:26who I'd be happy with, who I wouldn't, I would, look, I'd be happy with Jeremiah Love, but
15:30I'd be, but simultaneously, I would really think it's high risk.
15:35But if they don't have an opportunity to trade back and Stiles and Bailey and Bain, and some
15:41of those players are gone, you know, I will, I'll be excited about a really, really good
15:47running back prospect teaming up with Jaden Daniels in the backfield.
15:51He becomes immediately, if he's on the team, their number one playmaker, or certainly 1A
16:00after Terry.
16:01And maybe Chig's going to end up entering that class of big time playmaker for this team,
16:07because I think that's a possibility.
