00:00uh 248-539-9797 okay uh i mentioned it before the break obviously there's a lot other stuff
00:07going on heavy michigan talk to open the show but daniel jeremiah amina kimes podcast
00:13said the lions love caden proctor the guard from the aforementioned alabama the guard tackle
00:22offensive lineman for the aforementioned alabama pete trager on his podcast he said
00:26daniel jeremiah said he will not get past the detroit lions
00:32a do you think this is true that the lions love caden proctor and he will not get past the
00:38lions
00:38i would i would really like to think the lions love several offensive linemen yeah and that whoever
00:45is there at 17 hopefully somebody will be there at 17 that they will absolutely snatch him up
00:51because it's time and if they deem that caden proctor monroe freeling uh mawagoa and and fano
01:01are are the best of the bunch and one of those guys is there take them i feel like the
01:07offensive
01:08tackle position is a great play picking at 17 feels like a great place to need an offensive tackle for
01:16this draft and quite frankly i love a whole bunch of the guys that could be available in the second
01:22round at the edge rusher spot and look i'm a big brad holmes fan but i also have said this
01:30over and over
01:31and over and over and over again i don't believe in hard and fast rules when it comes to the
01:35draft
01:36i think it's silly and i think it's kind of productive and i don't think it's paying attention
01:40to what each draft has to offer and what your team needs are god i hope brad bends a little
01:47bit
01:47in in and adjusts given where the lions organization is what they're trying to do with their own players
01:55and what their needs are i think it would be kind of stubborn and a little bit silly to go
02:04out and
02:04just do bpa in a year where there are some pretty big needs but i'm not asking them to reach
02:12the
02:13tackle spot at 17 is a great do i think it's true that they love caden proctor i don't know
02:17if it is
02:18or it isn't but he's a good player to be in love with i think that's a good position to
02:22fall in love
02:22with a player i don't think caden proctor is going to be off the board at 17 very few projections
02:27have
02:27that being the case but he's 360 pounds and he can move he is an athlete and it you know
02:36there are
02:36some stuff there that needs to get cleaned up for sure but man um i think it's a good year
02:43i kind of
02:44hope this is true oh it is it is a good year um but they do have several big holes
02:49on their team
02:50tackle is one edge rusher is another and i really believe safety is another one and yes they
02:57have safeties on the roster but i mean you can't tell me there aren't question marks with both of
03:02them with with joseph and branch yeah i mean they're massive question marks about both of them
03:08so you know by all accounts there's like three top-notch safeties and there's a a second tier
03:14that look like they're good safeties and then second tier but do you think about taking one of
03:18those three top-notch guys with your pick at 17 you know one might be a little bit of a
03:23reach
03:25but if if you're able to trade back does it make more sense there's lots that that they can do
03:31that's why um every year we say this it's the first round of the draft is always so intriguing
03:35we pay the most attention to these guys that there's like 50 names are really paying close
03:40attention to and and we'll see where it ends up landing but and now this year actually there's less
03:45time on the clock i think they've gone from 10 minutes to eight minutes now yeah with uh between
03:49picks so the first round is going to fly fbg 25 on twitch says last year daniel jeremiah said
03:56the lions like donovan jackson he didn't have a clue they would target williams these guys only
03:59know so much you might be right i mean look i i don't whenever i see stuff like this i
04:04wonder how
04:05they know that and where they heard it from uh he seems pretty adamant in this and has said it
04:10in
04:10two different places in two different ways uh but yeah you could very well could be right the name i
04:16find really intriguing with this with the offensive lineman is no all jokes aside it is monroe freeling
04:21because i see him going anywhere from like six to 26 yeah he's all over the place and there's a
04:30ton
04:30of volatility with that with the people that are doing the mock drafts katon proctor not so much
04:35katon proctor is like a guy somewhere kind of locked in with 15 to 30 yeah um but freeling is
04:43all over
04:43freeling it looks like people think he's got the higher the higher ceiling i want a high floor guy
04:49too though high floor guy in a high ceiling that's kind of where you want it all i want it
04:55all i want
04:56it all i want the perfect player too i want the perfect player but i'm also i'm open to the
05:01guard
05:01from penn state if he if he is thought of as the best guard that we've seen in the draft
05:06in a couple
05:06years and ionia and okay i'm i'm not opposed to that either that that strikes me as a best player
05:13available kind of guy yeah but we'll see where they're at in a couple weeks 248-539-9797 more
05:18your phone calls and feedback coming up on a variety of topics michigan fans were you there
05:23how'd you enjoy the experience what's your story and who you're happiest for whether it be somebody
05:29on the team coaching staff happy for maybe somebody in your life who is it who is it that
05:36you are happiest for on this day after the wolverines cut down nets in indy
