The Zula Patrol learns all about condensation when they meet the Dew Drops, three drops of water who sing like a 50’s Doo-Wop group. The Dew Drops need the Zula Patrol’s help to enter a Battle of the Bands contest. Our heroes discover that Dark Truder has a condensation singing group of his own and will stop at nothing to make the Dew Drops lose! Using what they’ve learned about condensation, Wizzy & Wigg and the Zula Patrol save the Dew Drops and foil Truder’s plans!

00:13Wake up, Gorgah.
00:14It's time to play.
00:16Come on, Captain Bula.
00:18It's welcome the day.
00:19Where's that cedar?
00:21Ready to go.
00:22Wizzy and Wig are good to glow.
00:26Beakers bobblin' turnin' blue.
00:29Molto's makin' somethin' new.

00:51See you around, all Submission Control.
00:54It's fun to learn with the Zula Patrol.
01:05Space filled with old shoes, a toy train.
01:10Hey, that's my stuff.
01:12Mom, are you cleaning out my room again?
01:16Mind telling me why you're covering me with chicken fat?
01:19It's hair grease, Traxie.
01:21Part of a new master plan that will enable me to rule the galaxy.
01:26Not to mention cooked popcorn on your head.
01:29Ho ho.
01:30Scoff if you want.
01:32You'll see.
01:33This time, I'm going to get full control with rock and roll.
01:41All right.
01:42A perfect morning for mind-blowing skateboard moves made sweeter by Zeter.
01:53Hey, this skateboard is wet.
01:55No wonder I slipped.
01:57But where did this water come from?
01:59Most likely from the air.
02:01I'd say you just had a close encounter with the morning dew.
02:06Or to put it more scientifically, condensation.
02:11Condensation?
02:12What's that?
02:13Let's check the multopedia.
02:17Now, the word condense means to squeeze together.
02:22Right, Gorga?
02:23But in this case, it's water molecules.
02:26Teeny tiny bits of water that condense or squeeze together.
02:31And we call that condensation.
02:34Water is really in the air all around us.
02:37But we usually can't see it because it's in the form of a vapor.
02:42A colorless gas like steam.
02:45But that water vapor can turn into liquid water.
02:48Let's see how.
02:50Wow.
02:50Are those water molecules?
02:52Indeed it is.
02:54And you can see they move around really fast when they're a vapor.
02:58Fast enough to stay separate from each other.
03:00But at certain times, like when it gets colder, the molecules slow down and start to attach to each other.
03:07And when those vapor molecules in the air squeeze together or condense, they turn into liquid water.
03:15That's condensation.
03:17It happens when the water vapor in the air gets cold during the night.
03:21The vapor molecules condense into water, morning dew.
03:26So anytime it's cold, there's condensation?
03:29Not quite.
03:31The air also needs at least some water vapor in it for condensation to happen.
03:37The more vapor in the air, the more likely there will be condensation.
03:41Oh, and you need one more thing.
03:44I know.
03:45Something for the water molecules to grab onto.
03:48Exactly.
03:49Something cooler than the vapor.
03:51Like a blade of grass or a flower petal or window glass.
03:56Or even a skateboard.
03:57Water vapor can even condense around dust particles in the air.
04:02That's how we get clouds and fog.
04:09But what happens to all that morning dew?
04:12Where does it go?
04:13I got it.
04:14It evaporates as the day warms up.
04:17It turns back into vapor.
04:20Excellent deduction.
04:22So evaporation is the opposite of condensation.
04:26In evaporation, liquid turns into vapor.
04:29But in condensation, vapor becomes liquid.
04:33Exactly.
04:36I get it.
04:37But how cool does it need to be before you get any dew?
04:41Huh?
04:42What was that?
04:45That was us.
04:46I'm Dooser.
04:48I'm Doodle.
04:49I'm Dewey.
04:49But you can call us.
04:51The dew drops.
04:54I, um, dig your cool groove.
04:57I think.
04:58Righteous.
05:00We think everybody else will too.
05:02If we could just get to the contest, we'll win.
05:06When we're gonna win.
05:09Contest?
05:10What contest?
05:12Huh?
05:13Where'd they go?
05:14I know.
05:15They've evaporated.
05:17I believe you're right.
05:18Which means they're still around, as vapor somewhere in the air.
05:24Water might change from liquid to vapor and back, but it's never really gone.
05:29Speaking of water, I'm thirsty.
05:32How about some orange juice?
05:42Hey, did you miss us?
05:45We sure did.
05:46But what contest were you talking about?
05:49Like the interstellar Bebop-a-doo-wop-a-thon, of course.
05:54Yeah, it's our dream.
05:56But it's just a dream.
05:58Cause it's way out in space.
06:00We don't have a way to get there.
06:02Well, why can't the Zula Patrol take you there?
06:05Cool.
06:06You do that for us?
06:08We just need to ask the other Zula Patrolers!
06:14There's where the contest is being held.
06:16We'll be there in no time.
06:18Roger that.
06:20Molto and I will keep the temperature just right to make sure the dewdrops stay liquid.
06:25This is a job for the Zula Patrol.
06:28Yeah!
06:28We've got to make sure they're in good shape to win.
06:31He he he!
06:32Not if I've got anything to say about it!
06:35I don't know.
06:36Those dewdrops sound pretty good.
06:38A lot better than your condensed dewwop group.
06:40Nonsense!
06:41Drippin' the Condensations can win this contest!
06:44Then I, as their manager, will rule the galaxy!
06:49Please!
06:50A bunch of droplet dropouts you found in an alley?
06:53Not in an alley!
06:54Ahem.
06:56In a gutter!
06:57Check them out!
07:01Hi, sounds like they already checked out.
07:04And now for the condensed doo-wop category,
07:07this year there are two contestants.
07:09First, Drip and the Condensations,
07:12managed by the legendary Colonel Tom Pruder.
07:23Where are the dewdrops going on?
07:27Oh, they're up next.
07:29We'd better go get them.
07:40A little heat should make you change your tune.
07:58Dooser?
07:59Hey, where'd they go?
08:01Isn't it kind of warm in here?
08:04The dewdrops must have evaporated again.
08:06And so have their chances to win, Fula Patrol!
08:10Whoa!
08:12I know that!
08:14Whoa!
08:15Colonel Tom Pruder is really Dark Truder!
08:19And he's not even a real Colonel!
08:21We're locked in!
08:22He's trying to make sure the dewdrops never get on stage.
08:25He must have heated the room in order to evaporate them.
08:28If we could cool this room,
08:30maybe they'd condense back to a liquid.
08:32But we can't get outside to reach the temperature control!
08:36But maybe we can!
08:38Through there!
08:41I'll turn the dial down to its coldest temperature!
08:44And I'll unlock the door!
08:47Cool air's coming out!
08:49But I still don't see the dewdrops!
08:50They probably just need some time to cool down and condense!
08:54But there is no time!
08:56The dewdrops will lose the contest if they don't go on stage, now!
09:01We know what to do!
09:03They need a cold hard surface to condense on!
09:08Hey, Wizzy-o!
09:09Like, are we going on or what?
09:18Let's hear it for...
09:19The dewdrops!
09:25It's condensation
09:28That makes us want to drip
09:30And when we turn to liquid
09:32It's really quite a drip
09:34It's condensation
09:36We're in a different class
09:39Cause now we are a liquid
09:41And we used to be a gas
09:43It's condensation
09:45As vapor we're so fast
09:47And even when we're chillin'
09:50We hang out on a glass
09:52It's condensation
09:54That makes the morning blue
09:56And though you might not see us
09:58We always can see you
10:02The winners in their category
10:04And the entire competition are the incredible dewdrops
10:09No!
10:09You no-talent drops in the bucket!
10:12I took you out of the gutter
10:13And you let me down!
10:15Stop right there, Truder!
10:17You're guilty of evaporation without a license
10:19And impersonating a colonel!
10:22You'll never take me!
10:23Oh!
10:34Well, he got away
10:35This time
10:36But our mission was still accomplished
10:39Thanks to Wizzy and Wig
10:40I'll say!
10:41You two really saved the day for the dewdrops!
10:46Ah, we just made a really cool group
10:48A little bit cooler
10:50At least until you got down to the right temperature
10:52To condense into dew
10:53I'd call that the dew point
10:55That's exactly right!
10:57The vapor in the air condenses into liquid
11:00At a temperature we call the dew point
11:04That's way cool!
11:06Yeah, Wiggy-o!
11:07Like the coolest!
11:09Summer in solar flares!
11:11They're evaporating again!
11:13Uh-oh!
11:13Gotta go!
11:14Thanks again!
11:15You folks are the best!
11:17Like, don't worry
11:17We'll show up again some misty morning
11:20Or even sooner, Wiggy-o!
11:23And so the Zula Patrol finishes another adventure
11:27And Mom finished cleaning out my room
11:35Welcome to the Molto Moment!
11:37Today we discovered that condensation
11:40Is what happens when a gas, like water vapor
11:44Turns into a liquid
11:45Now, how does water vapor condense?
11:49I condense!
11:51Watch these moves!
11:53Oh!
11:57That ice water is coined!
11:59Very!
12:00And temperature is one of the things that causes condensation
12:03It happens because the water molecules in the air slow down!
12:07Down!
12:10As they cool down!
12:11Then they squeeze together and become liquid!
12:15But the air has to cool down to a certain temperature
12:18For the water vapor to condense!
12:21We call that...
12:22The dew point!
12:24The dew point!
12:28Uh, guys!
12:29Maybe we should stick to science!
12:33Bye for now!
12:34Bye for now!
12:34Bye for now!
12:34Bye for now!
12:35Bye for now!
