After years of hard work, Bula, Zeeter and Multo have finished building satellites. Taking a well-deserved break, they enjoy an afternoon in the wilderness. Dark Truder takes advantage of their absence to steal all of Zula’s satellites so he can become “Rula of Zula”. Without Zula’s satellites, Zula becomes helpless, and our heroes become lost in the wilderness.

00:00Way, way up where the planets do the hula.
00:03Spin and shot till you find yourself on Zula.
00:06Let's take off.
00:07We're all ready to go.
00:09It's fun to learn with the Zula Patrol.
00:13Wake up, Gorgah.
00:14It's time to play.
00:16Come on, Captain Bula.
00:18It's welcome the day.
00:19Where's that cedar?
00:21Ready to go.
00:22Wizzy and Wig are good to glow.
00:26Beakers bobblin' turnin' blue.
00:29Molto's makin' somethin' new.
00:32Way, way up where the planets do the hula.
00:35Spin and shot till you find yourself on Zula.
00:39See you around, oh, Submission Control.
00:42It's fun to learn with the Zula Patrol.
00:45Way, way up where the planets do the hula.
00:48Spin and shot till you find yourself on Zula.
00:51See you around, oh, Submission Control.
00:54It's fun to learn with the Zula Patrol.
01:05Space, there's lots of stuff out here, and it's never messy.
01:10Too bad I can't say that about my room.
01:13Let's see. Show us.
01:15It's taken years of hard work, but we finally finished.
01:19Ta-da!
01:20Here's my communications satellite.
01:23And my weather satellite.
01:27And my global positioning satellite.
01:31Wow!
01:32Whoa!
01:34What are satellites?
01:36Good question.
01:37Let's take a look in the Molto-pedia.
01:42Come on!
01:45A satellite is an object that orbits or travels around a planet.
01:50The moon is Earth's natural satellite.
01:53What about those things?
01:55They look like the satellites you Zeta and Molto built.
01:58That's right!
01:59They're what we call artificial satellites.
02:02Artificial satellites are built by Earth scientists and engineers,
02:07who use rockets to send them into orbit around Earth and other planets.
02:12Why?
02:12What do artificial satellites do?
02:14Many different things.
02:17They help scientists study space, and lots of modern devices depend on them.
02:22Communication satellites, like the one I built, send signals to TVs, radios, satellite phones,
02:29and some cellular phones.
02:31When you see someone talking on the phone, they're sometimes getting a satellite signal from
02:36a satellite in space.
02:37Those are called satellite phones.
02:40Satellites like mine show ship captains where they are in the ocean.
02:43With devices called global positioning systems.
02:47GPS for short.
02:49Cars can also have a GPS, or global positioning system, to help drivers find their way from
02:55one place to another.
02:57And there are even some that you can carry around with you so you don't get lost.
03:03Weather satellites, like the one I built, take pictures from space and send them to
03:08weather stations on the ground.
03:10Weather reporters you see on TV can then tell you if a storm is coming or if it's going to
03:17be sunny.
03:18And the picture of Earth they stand in front of is taken by a satellite.
03:25Satellites are cool!
03:27Yeah, I wonder what it would be like without them.
03:30And we're going to put ours into orbit with all the others.
03:33When Ralphie's rocket depot delivers the rockets to launch them into space.
03:37They'll be here in just a few hours.
03:40I for one could use a little break.
03:43I think we all deserve one.
03:45Hey, how about a hike in the forest?
03:47Yeah, we can be back before the rockets get here.
03:51Ah, sunshine, fresh air.
03:54Got my GPS, so we'll know where we are and where we're going.
03:59My weather monitor shows sunny skies.
04:02Got my satellite phone. Let's go.
04:09Now what?
04:10While those do-gooders go hiking through the woods, I can finally take over Zula.
04:17Well, if that's all you needed, you should have told them to take a hike years ago.
04:21Hmm.
04:23This hike is a fabulous idea, Bula.
04:27Ah, so invigorating.
04:30Let's go this way.
04:34Wait for me.
04:36My handbeams, this is fun.
04:39Without their satellites, Zula will be mine to control.
04:43Bye-bye to satellite phones.
04:45Okay, and so what did she say?
04:47Well, then what did he say?
04:49And then what did you say?
04:53Say something.
04:55So long, weather reports.
04:59Ah, my signals are gone.
05:01Toodle-oo, television.
05:02And now let's hear it for the Bowling Stones!
05:07Oh dear, the sadness.
05:10When I'm finished, I'll be the only one with a satellite.
05:14Trudy, with that kind of power, you'll be the Roller of Zula.
05:19And maybe even get my own TV show.
05:25Hello?
05:26Bowler, darling, all of Zula's gone fluey.
05:29Fluey, I say.
05:30Every satellite signal has stopped transmitting.
05:33Without my favorite TV show, all I can do is count bunny shapes in the clouds.
05:40We'll get your TV signal back, Iris.
05:42This is a job for...
05:45H-hello? Hello?
05:47My GPS isn't getting a signal.
05:50Actually, none of our devices are.
05:53We've got to get back to headquarters right away.
05:55Well, without the GPS, how can we be sure which way to go?
06:00We'll rely on our basic pioneering skills.
06:03Let's go, Zula Patrol!
06:05Hey.
06:06Ah!
06:07Hmm.
06:10Hmm.
06:15Oh, my stars.
06:16Isn't this where we started?
06:19You've been going around in circles for hours.
06:22Team, it looks like...
06:25We're lost!
06:27My satellite is the only one left orbiting Zula.
06:32And you know what that means, Traxie.
06:35It's time for Zula's newest show.
06:38In fact, it's Zula's only show.
06:42Here's Doc Truda.
06:44Attention, Zulians!
06:46From now on, the only television shows you'll watch will be starring...
06:51Me!
06:51Na-na-na-na-na-na!
06:54Blue-la-la, Zula!
06:56The best you'll ever see!
06:58Who am I talking about?
07:00Why, little old fabulous me!
07:09I never thought before about how much satellites help us.
07:12But now that they're gone, I miss them.
07:15We still have Bula Zetas and Molto satellites.
07:19Back home? On the ground?
07:21Yes! But the rockets to launch them have probably been delivered by now!
07:26If only we could tell someone to go ahead and launch them!
07:30Iris!
07:31All I have to do is get a message to her.
07:34She said she was looking at the clouds.
07:36You're going to send her a message with clouds?
07:39Not with clouds. With smoke!
07:43Smoke signals!
07:44Like when you, Iris, and I were Zula Scouts!
07:47Right! We're going to need to find a Zulean smoke pit, a rock, and some water!
07:52This is a job for the Zula Patrol!
08:08Hey! I found a Zulaan smoke pit!
08:11Great teamwork, everyone!
08:14Now we pour some water into the Zulaan smoke pit, then set the rock on top for a moment.
08:19Now all we have to do is tell Iris with our smoke signals to put the satellites in orbit!
08:25I hope she remembers the smoke signal's preservable mechanism!
08:3083 bunny-shaped clouds, 84 smoke signals!
08:35Dear Iris, that's me!
08:37Go to Zula Patrol headquarters!
08:42Way to go!
08:51The rockets should be releasing our satellites into orbit right now!
09:03My GPS is getting a signal!
09:06Yay!
09:08My satellite phone is working!
09:10My weather tracker, too!
09:12And oh my! A major rainstorm is headed our way!
09:16We need to warn everyone!
09:18Then there's even less than no time to lose!
09:23Headquarters is that way!
09:27Thanks for helping, Cyrus!
09:29Bula!
09:30All the satellites are gone!
09:32It's Darktruder!
09:33Oh!
09:34Darktruder?
09:35I should've known!
09:37We're on our way!
09:39How can you tell if an elephant's been in your refrigerator?
09:43His footprints are in the butter!
09:46You are correct, sir!
09:48Uh-oh!
09:49Trudy, are you sure you took all the satellites?
09:52What?
09:53How'd they get there?
09:55And another one's coming our way!
09:57That's no satellite!
09:59That's the Zula Patrol!
10:02Looks like the Darktruder show is about to be cancelled!
10:05I'll be back... someday!
10:11Aren't we going after him?
10:13We'll take care of him later, Wizzy!
10:15Right now, it's more important that we get the satellites back in their orbits!
10:26Oh!
10:26So what did she say?
10:29And what did he say?
10:31And what did you say?
10:32And what did you say?
10:34My monitors are working!
10:36The signal's back!
10:40Oh, darling, that's more like it!
10:43Thanks to satellites, I can enjoy the show!
10:47We drew pictures of all of your satellites!
10:50This way, even though they're in space doing their job, you can still see them!
10:55Thank you!
10:56How lovely!
10:59But we still can see them!
11:01We can?
11:02Yes!
11:03If you know the right place to look, you can see satellites from your own backyard!
11:09How?
11:10See that point of light slowly moving across the sky?
11:14It looks like a star!
11:15But it's actually a satellite!
11:18Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight!
11:22I wish I may, I wish I might, see a shiny satellite!
11:33Hello there, Knowledge Seekers!
11:36It's time for our Molto Moment!
11:38Do you know what these devices have in common?
11:41You got them in a yard sale!
11:45No!
11:46Do you know?
11:48Ha!
11:48You're right!
11:49These devices depend on artificial satellites to work!
11:54What's a satellite?
11:55A satellite is an object that orbits or travels around a planet!
12:01The Moon is Earth's natural satellite!
12:04Artificial satellites, like these, are built by Earth's scientists and engineers!
12:11Artificial satellites send signals that make all these devices work!
12:15What are you doing?
12:17I'm going to use satellite technology for something really important!
12:22Hello, Italy!
12:24One large pizza with extra pepperoni, please!
12:28Ha ha ha ha!
12:30Sounds delish!
12:31Ha ha ha!
12:32See you next time!
12:33It's the next time!
