When Bula reads about a “vanishing lake” in Zula’s tabloid newspaper, Zeeter tells him that it is impossible for all the water in a lake to simply “go away”. After Multo teaches the team about evaporation and vaporization, they decide to check out the “vanishing lake” for themselves. It turns out that the lake is hoax perpetrated by the nefarious villain, Dark Truder, whose ultimate goal is to make all the water of Zula disappear by vaporizing it. He traps Truder, Multo, Bula and Zeeter, but they manage to escape, thanks to their knowledge of evaporation and vaporization. They’re too late to stop Dark Truder from removing all the water from Lake Zula, however it turns out the joke is on Truder - when he learns the hard way that vaporized water turns to rain.

01:06Space. Wait a minute. I'm not in space. I'm underwater. All right, who's the wise guy?
01:16Water! That's the key, Traxie. Once I control all of Zula's water, I'll rule Zula.
01:24Face it, Trudy. Every one of your big plans goes kaflooey. Who can forget your ultimate doomsday device that unleashed
01:31the awesome power of the...
01:33Eh, what was it? Mayonnaise.
01:35Look, all I'm saying is maybe you should aim a little lower. Instead of trying to take over all the
01:41water on Zula, try just one ocean or a couple of seas or maybe a bathtub in Cleveland.
01:47But this time, my master plan cannot fail.
01:52Presenting my newest invention. The Maltomega Magnifying Glass.
01:58Huh?
01:58Wow! It makes things look a lot bigger than my magnifying glass.
02:04And when placed right, a magnifying glass can focus light on an object and heat it up.
02:11Ah, magnified magnificence.
02:14That's incredible.
02:16Why, thank you.
02:17No, I meant this story in the Zula Tattletale.
02:20Look at this. The monster Big Toe. Twins born 90 years apart.
02:26And the vanishing lake, whose water can vanish in an instant.
02:31Baloney, hooey, and impossible.
02:34Zeter, I'm sure there are logical explanations for all these things.
02:38All the water in a lake just disappearing?
02:42I don't believe it.
02:44Water disappears all the time through evaporation.
02:48Hmm. I forgot. What's evaporation again?
02:52To answer that, let's check the multopedia.
02:59When you mop the kitchen floor and come back an hour later, the water is all gone.
03:06And right after a rainstorm, the sidewalk is all wet.
03:10But the next day, it's dry.
03:12What happened to all that water?
03:14The water evaporates, which means that it turns into a colorless gas, which rises into the air.
03:21There's water in the air?
03:23Absolutely. We call it water vapor.
03:27When water turns into vapor, we say it evaporates.
03:31Let's take a closer look at a drop of water.
03:35Look at these tiny bits of water.
03:37They're called water molecules, and they're always moving.
03:42When the molecules up here at the surface of the water are moving fast enough,
03:47they break free and become vapor, rising into the air.
03:52But since it's only happening at the water's surface,
03:56it takes a while for all the water to turn into vapor.
03:59Which is why it takes time for evaporation to happen.
04:03Can you make it happen faster?
04:06Although evaporation can happen at many different temperatures,
04:10heat will make it happen faster.
04:13And if you want to turn water into vapor really fast, you can vaporize it.
04:18Vaporizing happens when all the water molecules move quickly,
04:22not just the ones at the surface.
04:25One way to do that is with a lot of heat,
04:28like when water boils and turns into steam, a gas.
04:32So water turns to vapor, a gas, when it evaporates and when it's vaporized.
04:38You've got it.
04:39In fact, evaporating is really just a slow kind of vaporizing.
04:45Because with evaporation, only the water at the surface is vaporized.
04:51Okay, so water can evaporate and be vaporized,
04:55but a lake is too big to vaporize in seconds.
04:58At least, not naturally.
05:00Then there has to be a logical, scientific explanation for it.
05:05Why don't we all go to the Vanishing Lake and see for ourselves?
05:09Splendid.
05:09I'll bring my Moto Mega Magnifying Glass to look at things closely.
05:16Souvenirs!
05:17Get your souvenirs!
05:20Vanishing Lake mug?
05:21Excellent choice.
05:22Hey, this postcard of the lake is blank.
05:26Of course!
05:27That was after it vanished.
05:29That'll be ten slinkles.
05:31Oh, I only got five.
05:33Yeah, so!
05:35What do you think of my plan now?
05:38What, selling overpriced chachkis at a phony lake?
05:41What happened to taking over all the water on Zula?
05:45It's all part of my master plan.
05:49Oh, so there's still time for you to blow it big time.
05:52Hey, you!
05:53When does this lake vanish?
05:54Coming right up!
05:56Hee-hee-hee-hee!
06:01Come on!
06:03We're just in time!
06:09Wow!
06:10The lake really vanished!
06:13That was way too fast for evaporation.
06:15But that huge puff of steam might mean that it vaporized.
06:20But how?
06:21I don't see how it could have happened naturally.
06:24Yeah!
06:24And right on schedule!
06:26Maybe it's not so natural!
06:30Evaporation, vaporization, where did all the water go?
06:35Where did all the water go?
06:37First way's lower, temperature's lower.
06:40The second makes a better show.
06:42The second makes a better show!
06:44Evaporation, a transformation of water turning into gas.
06:50The explanation for vaporization is when this happens very, very fast!
06:58Let's check around.
07:00Look for anything suspicious.
07:03Huh.
07:04It's starting to look like rain.
07:06Look!
07:06Zula's stretchy trees!
07:08Hmm.
07:09That's odd.
07:10They don't usually grow near lakes.
07:13Let's take a closer peek.
07:15Huh?
07:16What's this?
07:17A secret entrance!
07:20Ha!
07:21A giant heating element under the lake!
07:25The lake is being vaporized!
07:28Who would do such a thing?
07:30I would!
07:32Ah, Truder!
07:34You always seem surprised.
07:36All right.
07:37Now that you've caught us, go ahead and explain your nefarious plan.
07:41And why should I?
07:43Villain rule number five, brag about your plan to your prisoners!
07:48Drat!
07:49She's right!
07:50Okay, here it is.
07:52Making this little lake vanish was just a test.
07:55Today, I'm going to make all the water in the Zula Reservoir vanish!
07:59But that's the main water supply for Zulopolis.
08:03When Zuleans want water, they'll have to come to me!
08:09It's cute the way he believes it, huh?
08:11So long, Z-losers!
08:13I gotta go refill the lake with a hose!
08:16Takes forever!
08:19Hello!
08:20Villain rule number 12A!
08:22You forgot to leave the key just out of reach!
08:25Oh!
08:25Right!
08:26Sorry!
08:28If only we could reach the key!
08:31Hmm...
08:32Take a look!
08:33This cage is hanging from a cable that runs up to a pulley, then down there to that big vat
08:39of water!
08:40Quite fiendish!
08:42The cage won't lower as long as the vat of water is heavier than we are!
08:46What if we could make it lighter than we are, by evaporating some of the water in the vat?
08:52Good idea!
08:53But evaporation is gradual!
08:55That could take months!
08:57But the hotter the water gets, the faster it evaporates!
09:00If we could somehow heat the water...
09:02My multomega magnifying glass!
09:05Great idea!
09:06Now we just need to get it in the path of that sunbeam!
09:11It's working!
09:13Keep it up, Zeter!
09:15Just... a little... more...
09:19Now, to stop Trooter!
09:21This is a job for the Zula Patrol!
09:25And now, with a mere pull of a lever, all the water in this reservoir will be gone!
09:31There'll be no more water for Zulopolis!
09:33This is my greatest, most magnificent...
09:36Hold it right there, Dark Trooter!
09:38Oh!
09:39I never get to finish my victory speeches!
09:42Try shortening them.
09:44Say goodbye to the reservoir!
09:47Ha ha ha ha ha!
09:51I did it!
09:53I win!
09:54I win!
09:54I win!
09:55I made all the water disappear!
09:58If Zulopolis wants water, they'll have to make me King of Zula!
10:02And there's nothing you can do about it!
10:06Actually, we don't have to do anything!
10:09The laws of nature will do it for us!
10:13What do you mean, Molto?
10:14Even though we can't see the water anymore, it's still there!
10:19Truda just vaporized it, which means he turned it from a liquid to a gas!
10:25And what happens to water when it becomes a gas?
10:30Um...
10:30It rises into the air!
10:32And forms clouds!
10:33Correct!
10:34And when the clouds cool, the water vapor...
10:38Turns back into a liquid!
10:40Which then falls back to the ground and...
10:45Hooray!
10:46Exactly!
10:48Vaporization doesn't really get rid of the water.
10:50It just changes its form from a liquid to a vapor.
10:54It won't take long for the reservoir to be full again.
11:04Uh, Trudy, next time you come up with a brilliant master plan, don't.
11:09And there you have it!
11:12Proof that if you don't know about evaporation and vaporization, you're all wet!
11:22It's time for our Molto moment!
11:24We're here to talk about where water goes!
11:28We're ready to go where water goes!
11:30I think Molto's talking about water going from a liquid to a gas!
11:36I don't know how to pack for that!
11:38You don't have to!
11:39Evaporation can happen almost anywhere, at nearly any temperature!
11:44Water molecules are always moving!
11:46When the molecules at the surface move fast enough, they break free into a gas and rise into the air!
11:54That's evaporation!
11:56But since it's only happening at the water's surface, it takes a while for all the water beneath the surface
12:03to turn into gas!
12:04Which is why evaporation happens gradually!
12:08It's gonna be bedtime soon!
12:10Is there a way this gonna happen faster?
12:13Yep!
12:14Through vaporization!
12:15That's when all the molecules, not just the surface ones, move faster and faster, like when water boils!
12:22The hotter the water gets, the faster the molecules move, the quicker they turn into vapor!
12:28Wow!
12:29That vapor is hot stuff!
12:31It certainly is!
12:33Ha ha ha ha!
12:34It's hot!
12:35Ta-ta-aah!
12:36It's hot!
12:36The hotter the cycle.
