00:00Way, way up where the planets do the hula.
00:03Spin and shot till you find yourself on Zula.
00:06Let's take off.
00:07We're all ready to go.
00:09It's fun to learn with the Zula Patrol.
00:13Wake up, Gorgah.
00:14It's time to play.
00:16Come on, Captain Bula.
00:18It's welcome the day.
00:19Where's that cedar?
00:21Ready to go.
00:22Wizzy and Wig are good to glow.
00:26Beakers bobblin' turnin' blue.
00:29Molto's makin' somethin' new.
00:32Way, way up where the planets do the hula.
00:35Spin and shot till you find yourself on Zula.
00:39See you around, oh, Submission Control.
00:42It's fun to learn with the Zula Patrol.
00:45Way, way up where the planets do the hula.
00:48Spin and shot till you find yourself on Zula.
00:51See you around, oh, Submission Control.
00:54It's fun to learn with the Zula Patrol.
00:58Ah!
01:06Aloha, space kahunas.
01:08There's nothing like drifting through the universe on a warm solar breeze,
01:13listening to the gentle music of the spheres.
01:18So much for gentle music.
01:21But what is the villainous dark Trudus Fortress of Trudutu doing in the solar system?
01:29Oh, it's a lot warmer in this neck of the galaxy, eh, Traxie?
01:36A perfect spot for my newly remodeled fortress.
01:41This remodeling fever of yours has given me a headache.
01:44And it's all because you've been watching that new TV show on the Villains Network, Trading Hideouts.
01:51Hmm.
01:52Hmm.
01:53There's still something missing.
01:55Something that says, I'm Dark Trudur and you're not.
01:59Ah!
02:00I know just what I need.
02:03Ah!
02:04Ah!
02:05Ah!
02:08Ah!
02:09That's it, Wizzy!
02:10This is going to be one cool ice sculpture!
02:13And the coolest part is, we're doing it together!
02:16Wow!
02:17I've never looked so big!
02:19Or so cool!
02:21Hey, everyone!
02:22Check out our ice sculpture!
02:25Quite eye-catching. Very impressive, indeed.
02:35Huh? I don't get it, Cedar. What happened?
02:39You carved it on ice that can suddenly move because of pressure from below.
02:45In other words, you built it on a glacier.
02:50Yup, I'm a glacier, all right. Just call me Chip.
02:54Glad to meet you, Chip. Uh, Molto, what's a glacier?
02:59That's a very good question, Wizzy. I'm so glad you asked it.
03:04Let's check the Moltopedia.
03:07You see, in some places on Earth that are really cold, more snow falls than melts.
03:14Then it must really pile up.
03:16Huh? I get it, Gorga. The weight of the upper layers of snow pushes down on the lower, pressing it
03:24into a layer of ice at the bottom.
03:26Wow. That looks just like a river of ice.
03:31Exactly. It's a slow-moving river of ice called a glacier.
03:38Woo-woo! Look at that! I guess all that pressure can cause a lot of jerks in the ice.
03:45You said it! No wonder our sculpture fell over.
03:49Hey, what are all those black lines?
03:53Those black lines are actually animals. Fascinating animals called ice worms.
04:01They live inside glaciers and come to the surface at night.
04:05They're about the size of your pinky's fingernail. But some glaciers have as many as seven billion of them.
04:14That's more than enough ice worms to go all the way around the Earth.
04:19Wow! That's an extremely large number of worms!
04:24They're an example of extremophiles. Creatures who have learned how to live in extreme, or very difficult, conditions to survive.
04:34You mean extreme like if it's really, really, really cold?
04:38Precisely! And studying ice worms has led scientists to think about the possibility of life on some very cold planets.
04:48Wow! I thought my ice sculpture was cool. The glaciers are really cool!
04:53Cool? Ho-ho-ho! Yes, indeedy!
04:57You know, at different times in Earth's history, Earth was covered with glaciers.
05:03But as the temperature warmed up, most of them melted and disappeared.
05:07Gone! Finito!
05:12Well, I'm sure glad you're still around, Chip.
05:16Haha! Me too!
05:18Okay, now I get what a glacier is. But I still don't get how glaciers move.
05:26Hey! That tickles!
05:30Careful, Gorga! What are you up to?
05:33Or down to?
05:34Huh?
05:36Perhaps he wants to show us the answer to Wig's question from the inside out!
05:40Then what are we waiting for?
05:47Wow! You've got ice worms, Chip!
05:51Doesn't everybody?
05:52Looks like you've made some new friends, Gorga!
05:55Hi, Zula Patrollers! I'm Squirby, and this is Bristles.
06:00But I thought you only came out at night!
06:02We crawl to the surface at night, but the rest of my buddies and I hang out down here in
06:08the daytime.
06:09Oh! I'm freezing! How do you all live in such a cold place?
06:13Are you kidding? This is our idea of Warb and Toasty!
06:17Maybe you can tell us how glaciers move!
06:20Ready, Bristles?
06:22Boop-boop!
06:24Boop-boop!
06:25Boop-boop!
06:26Our glacier moves a little bit each day
06:30And picks up rocks and stones along the way
06:34It slides and creeps along the valley floor
06:38And then it slides and creeps a little more
06:42We love our glacier, it's really nice
06:47Nothing says home like a big slab of ice
06:52Others may shiver
06:53And others may freeze
06:55But we think it's cool below zero degrees
07:01Yay! Good job!
07:03Oh! So that's how you move, Chip!
07:06You slide and crawl!
07:07That's right! I slide and crawl along and I pick up a few rocks and shrubs
07:12Kinda like a mob does
07:14Here's what I look like as I carve my way through mountains
07:18Sometimes big pieces of me break off as I move
07:27Let's measure how fast a glacier really moves for ourselves
07:31What Wiz and Wig will find out is that they move very slowly
07:35From just a few inches to a few yards a day
07:38Scientists keep track of this movement by putting poles in the glacier and in the ground nearby
07:44Then measuring the distance between them every day
08:00It only moved two inches since yesterday
08:03That is slow
08:04Let's go tell Motto
08:06Guess what we found out
08:08Whoa!
08:09Whoa!
08:11What's all that movement?
08:13I don't know
08:14This doesn't feel normal
08:17What glacier coming up?
08:19Soon it will be the best part of my headquarters
08:22If there's anything left when you get there
08:25Gula!
08:26I don't think we're on Zoua anymore
08:29Somehow we're being towed into space
08:31And something tells me glaciers don't travel well
08:34Uh oh! This is not good
08:36We're getting closer to the sun
08:38And it's starting to get warmer
08:40Chip, you're heating up!
08:42And so are we!
08:44Off with our coast!
08:46This can't be good for me
08:48Or my little ice worms
08:50We can't survive if it gets too warm
08:53Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear
08:55We must stop whatever is pulling the glacier nearer to the sun
08:59Not whatever!
09:01Whoever!
09:01Doc Trudor!
09:03We're being towed toward his fortress of Trudertude!
09:06Trudor!
09:07I should have known
09:08This is a job for the Zoua Patrol
09:11Whoa!
09:18A giant ice sculpture of me!
09:21It'll be the perfect thing for my fortress of Trudertude!
09:24Hmm, time for a lunch break
09:26All you ever think about is food!
09:32Chip! Are you okay?
09:34Not really!
09:35I'm heating up!
09:37My poor ice worms are getting too warm!
09:40Don't worry Chip!
09:41We're going to get you and your ice worms back to Zoua!
09:44We're going in after Trudor!
09:46You three better stay out here with Chip!
09:50Follow my lead!
09:51I move like a cat!
09:53In and out of shadows!
09:55Silent as the night!
10:01Don't worry!
10:02I'm sure Boola is making progress!
10:05Zeno, help!
10:06We're stuck in a trap!
10:08Okay, maybe not great progress!
10:10Hey, I've got an idea!
10:13Can you and your worm buddies help me with a little sculpture makeover?
10:18Well, well!
10:20The Zoua Losers!
10:22Looks like you'll be staying for a while!
10:27Dark Zoua!
10:29Come aside!
10:31Now!
10:33Huh?
10:36You have awakened me, the ice monster!
10:40From my glacial sleeve!
10:43Return me to my home!
10:46Return me!
10:47Return me!
10:47And my Zoua and friends!
10:49To our home at once!
10:51Or you'll be sorry!
10:54Okay!
10:55I'll do anything you say!
11:01Well, I'm back home!
11:03But not exactly in one piece!
11:06Not to worry Mr. Chip!
11:08My multomatic ice maker will replace your glacial ice in no time!
11:12Ha ha ha ha!
11:16Cool!
11:17Way cool!
11:19Another mission accomplished for the Zoua Patrol!
11:22Not easy with Hawaiian music in the soundtrack!
11:26Now it's time for a nice cool lemonade!
11:36Time for a multi-moment!
11:38Do you remember what a glacier is?
11:41A card game you play with two pigs and a duck!
11:45Ha ha ha ha!
11:46Ha ha ha!
11:46What?
11:47Not exactly!
11:48Here's a hint!
11:50Hey!
11:51That's cold!
11:52If I had tea, they'd be chattering!
11:55A glacier is a huge river of ice that forms in places where it's very cold!
12:00And it moves very slowly, sliding along and moving rocks with it!
12:05No more!
12:06Ha ha ha!
12:09Right, Gorga!
12:10Let's not forget the tiny ice worms that scientists have found living in glaciers!
12:16Leading them to consider the possibility of life on very cold planets!
12:21Hey!
12:23Maybe we should call you Gorga the Glacier!
12:26Or Gorga the Vacuumola!
12:29Ha ha ha!
12:30That cracks me up!
12:33Ha ha ha!
12:33Bye for now!
