00:00Hello, good afternoon. A day of two halves for many of us, a sunny start, but cloud will spread in
00:06through this afternoon and rain will soon arrive as well.
00:09This is the satellite picture from this morning. We were down to minus three across parts of Cumbria, so a
00:14very chilly start, much milder down to the south and west.
00:17That's because we've got this cloud as a result of these weather fronts all in association with this large area
00:22of low pressure out to the west of the UK.
00:25And that will swing in these weather fronts through today, bringing pulses of rain, not particularly heavy rain, but quite
00:31persistent rain in some areas, particularly across the high ground, across more western areas of the UK.
00:37The far north and the far east actually should remain largely dry, if not fairly sunny through much of the
00:43day.
00:43And here it will be quite a warm afternoon, temperatures reaching the mid-teens, if not a little bit higher
00:49across parts of the far southeast.
00:51For most of us, 15 to 13 degrees, so fairly mild for the time of year, certainly milder than yesterday,
00:57but we're not going to see too much in the way of sunshine, unfortunately.
01:01Quite brisk winds will develop as well across more western areas up to the northwest as well overnight tonight.
01:08And the rain will turn heavier across parts of Northern Ireland, West and Scotland as well through the early hours
01:13of Wednesday.
01:14So most of us will see a spell of wet weather.
01:18But those concerned with frost need not worry overnight tonight, it will be a considerably milder night across the country.
01:25Temperatures in double digits for most of us to start the day, exceptionally mild for the time of year.
01:31But another damp and overcast day to come on Wednesday.
01:34This time we could see some heavier rain through around lunchtime into the afternoon.
01:39You can see this band of heavy rain pushing eastwards, brings some gusty winds as well for a time.
01:45So a fairly unsettled spell of weather to push across the country.
01:49Then once that band of rain does push through, it's a cold front, it will actually turn fresher behind it.
01:54So temperatures will fall away across parts of the southwest of England as well as parts of Northern Ireland, down
02:00closer to 10 or 11 degrees.
02:02But to the east will be as high as 18, possibly 19 degrees.
02:06You can't really see it here, but the far north of Scotland could see temperatures in the high teens.
02:10So potentially a fairly warm and bright day for these areas as the rain doesn't arrive until later on in
02:17the day.
02:18And then from Wednesday evening onwards, we're into a case of showers.
02:21Some brighter spells, some clearer skies through Wednesday evening once again.
02:26So a slightly fresher night to come once again, but still relatively mild through the rest of the week.
02:30You can see them mild there staying with us through Wednesday into Thursday.
02:35But we continue to see further spells of low pressure, wet weather until the end of the week at least.
02:41There are signs it could turn a bit drier and brighter by the weekend, however.

02:48Bye bye.
