A helicopter-like drone crashed into a wheat field in Nandpur village under the Saifai area of Etawah district on Friday evening around 6:30 pm, triggering panic among local residents.

According to officials, the drone crash occurred during a test flight being conducted by LAT Aerospace with prior permission from the Civil Aviation Department. The UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) reportedly lost control due to a technical fault and fell into the field.

The unusual helicopter-like appearance of the drone created fear among villagers, leading to a large crowd gathering at the spot. Locals immediately informed the police.

Police and fire brigade teams rushed to the scene, cordoned off the area as a precaution, and ensured public safety. Officials also initiated an on-site inspection.

Additional District Magistrate Abhinav Ranjan Srivastava confirmed that the test flight was authorised from the Saifai airstrip and clarified that no casualties or property damage were reported. He termed the incident a technical accident and ruled out any major security threat.
