A media worker was seriously injured in a brutal attack in the Delhi Gate area under Kotwali police station limits in Ghaziabad on Sunday night, after being allegedly assaulted by a group of over 10 youths.

According to reports, the victim, identified as Akash, who is associated with a Hindi newspaper, was attacked on the street when he stepped out during an argument nearby. The accused allegedly surrounded him, chased him, and then pinned him to the ground before beating him with sticks.

Eyewitness accounts and CCTV footage show the attackers creating chaos on the road for nearly 10 minutes. During the assault, they also allegedly fired in the air with pistols and issued death threats before fleeing the spot.

The injured victim was rushed to a district hospital, where doctors confirmed multiple serious injuries, including a fractured wrist, a broken leg, and rib injuries.

Police have registered a case based on the complaint and are identifying the accused using CCTV footage. Rajkaran Nair stated that strict action will be taken and any negligence by police personnel will also be investigated.

Questions have also been raised over the delay in police response, as officials reportedly reached the scene later.

Authorities have clarified that individuals from different communities are involved, and action will be taken against all accused.
