A shocking case has emerged from the Loni area of Ghaziabad, where a 32-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his in-laws, just a year after his interfaith love marriage.

The deceased, identified as Nitin Kumar (also referred to as Nitin Rathi), had married Muskan in 2025 despite opposition from her family. The couple had reportedly been facing ongoing tension since the marriage. Muskan, who is currently nine months pregnant, had recently returned to her parents’ home following a dispute.

According to the FIR lodged at Tila Mod police station, Nitin was called to the Banthala area on March 30 under the pretext of resolving the dispute. His brother Amit Kumar alleged that Nitin was taken in a car by his in-laws, including father-in-law Mehruddin and uncle Asif Ali, along with other associates.

During the journey, suspicion arose, and after stopping near a deserted stretch in Bhandeda village, the accused allegedly attacked Nitin. Amit managed to escape and alerted police, while Nitin was reportedly strangled and left unconscious near a culvert.

Police rushed Nitin to hospital, from where he was referred to GTB Hospital in Delhi, where doctors declared him dead.

Based on the complaint, police have registered a murder case and arrested two accused—Mehruddin and Asif Ali—while search operations are underway to nab the remaining suspects.

Atul Kumar Singh stated that multiple teams have been formed to trace the absconding accused and that the investigation is being carried out seriously.

Following the incident, enraged family members staged a protest by placing the body on the Loni-Bhopura Road near Banthala flyover, causing a traffic jam for nearly 30 minutes. Police later pacified the protesters and restored normal traffic after assuring strict action.

The incident has sparked outrage and raised concerns over violence linked to interfaith marriages and family disputes.
