A tragic road accident in Bengaluru claimed two lives after a car allegedly driven under the influence of alcohol rammed into a two-wheeler near the Wakf Board office under High Grounds traffic police limits on Saturday night.

The deceased have been identified as Zubair Ahmed (42) and Abdul Munneer Pasha (16), who were reportedly riding in accordance with traffic rules when the accident occurred.

According to police, the accused driver, identified as Ayyappa, was driving a Volkswagen car in an inebriated state. He allegedly entered a one-way road from the wrong direction at high speed and collided head-on with the victims’ two-wheeler.

The impact was severe, resulting in the instant death of both riders.

Officials from High Grounds Traffic Police rushed to the spot and carried out a preliminary inspection. The accused was taken into custody, and medical examination reportedly confirmed alcohol consumption at the time of the incident.

A case has been registered against the driver, and further legal action is underway.
