Midnight Kidnap Bid Foiled: Family Fights Off Armed Gang in Rajasthan Village

A shocking attempted abduction in Raniadeshipura village under Kalyanpur police station limits in Balotra district created panic late Wednesday night, after a group of armed criminals stormed a house but were forced to flee due to the family’s resistance.

According to reports, around 10–12 masked men arrived in two Scorpio vehicles and targeted the house of Narayanram Patel. The accused allegedly barged in and attempted to abduct a young woman from the house.

However, in a dramatic turn, family members acted swiftly and courageously confronted the attackers. Using sticks and household items, they resisted the gang, disrupting what police suspect was a pre-planned operation.

Caught off guard by the resistance, the criminals fled the scene. While escaping, they reportedly fired two rounds in the air to create panic in the area. The gunshots alerted nearby residents, who quickly gathered at the spot.

No injuries were reported, but the incident has left the village shaken.

Police recovered a magazine (ammunition clip) dropped by the accused at the scene, which is expected to be a key piece of evidence. CCTV footage from the area has also captured the incident, and efforts are underway to identify those involved.

Senior police officer Vikas Kumar reached the spot with a team and conducted a detailed inspection. A blockade has been set up in nearby areas, and search operations are ongoing.

Officials stated that the attack appears to be well-planned, and assured that the accused will be arrested soon. Meanwhile, the incident has raised serious concerns about safety and security among local residents.
