00:00So, I saw this, and look, before you say, hey, why are you just piggybacking off some rando on social
00:08media?
00:08It's not some rando.
00:10It's someone who Deion Sanders has quote tweeted, has sometimes endorsed his tweets.
00:17So, these are, some of these individuals are very close to Shador Sanders.
00:21And so, I never ascribe things that they say as to things Shador thinks.
00:26All right.
00:27But I've seen the father and the coach of the Buffaloes sign off on a lot of these tweets.
00:32So, I think they're totally relevant to your quarterback.
00:35But I saw this yesterday.
00:37This from Hova76 talking about the comparisons between Shador and how he was treated pre-draft to Fernando Mendoza.
00:49And this series of sentences, in quotes, tries to underscore how one quarterback prospect a year ago was not being
01:00treated fairly.
01:01But now, how Fernando Mendoza, who's going to be taken number one overall by the Raiders, is being treated totally
01:07different.
01:07And I just think it's fan fiction.
01:10All I've seen for the last month is people pick apart Fernando Mendoza and his flaws and how he's not
01:17a Trevor Lawrence.
01:18He's not a number one overall pick material.
01:21How, if it was any other draft, him and all his flaws.
01:25The fact that his stats are very weak compared to other first-round picks.
01:29How it was the running game that carried him.
01:32How he didn't even play that well in the biggest games.
01:34And that's not just Dan Orlovsky saying that, even though he's been dragged through the mud and rightfully so.
01:39Because he didn't have anything to back it up.
01:41He sounded like an idiot.
01:42I'm sorry.
01:43And I like Dan.
01:43Nice enough guy.
01:44I thought he was ridiculous.
01:45You're not on the Christmas card list.
01:47You can say whatever you want to.
01:48The guy's good at breaking down film and that's about it.
01:50So, go ahead.
01:51But I totally disagreed with the things that either way.
01:53Sounded goofy.
01:54Why do we have to, now that Shador is in the NFL, he has a chance to start for an
02:00NFL football team this year.
02:01As a fifth-round pick, he already has how many games under his belt?
02:05Seven.
02:05That's like a miracle.
02:06Do you know how many guys are drafted in the fifth or sixth rounds that never see the light of
02:11day?
02:11So, what's the issue?
02:12And now Shador is coming in and he has the opportunity to seize hold of a quarterback room and get
02:18a chance to start week one.
02:19Guys, why are we obsessing about other quarterbacks after him that won the Heisman, won the national championship, are going
02:29to be taken number one overall.
02:30And we have to make it out.
02:32I've seen he's bringing up race.
02:34Guys, the last three quarterbacks taken number one overall have been heavily scrutinized, too.
02:38Guess what?
02:39They're all black.
02:40They're all African-American quarterbacks that were taken number one overall.
02:43And they all get the equal treatment.
02:46These quarterbacks, they don't just fall out of the sky and then we obsess about them but then treat them
02:55as like angels.
02:56That's not what β I'm not seeing that.
02:58I'm seeing Fernando Mendoza get crushed for all the flaws.
03:02Weirdo.
03:03How is that going to work in the locker room?
03:05What is going on with him and how he's almost overdoing it at the pro day?
03:09As long as he is his authentic self, it'll go over well in the locker room.
03:13If that's how he is β like Russell Wilson is not the same person in the media as he is
03:20in the locker room.
03:21Richard Sherman will tell anybody that.
03:23And so will other former teammates of Richard Sherman.
03:26He's not authentic.
03:27As long as Fernando Mendoza is authentic.
03:30Now, I'd like to play along with you on this.
03:32You're going to hate me.
03:35Who's we?
03:37Who are you β who are you β
03:38What do you mean?
03:39Who are you talking to?
03:40I don't think Browns fans are doing this.
03:42I'm talking to β
03:43You said somebody on β
03:44No, it's not just somebody.
03:46It's fans.
03:46Somebody's one of Shador's people.
03:47No, no, this is not a fan.
03:49This is β this is some β ask the Shador people who Hova 76 is.
03:53He's not just a nobody.
03:54I don't know who that is.
03:55You don't know who he is, but they do.
03:57Go on YouTube right now.
03:58If you guys are interacting with the show, tell Ken who this dude is.
04:01Because he's basically spoken on behalf of the Sanders family before.
04:05And again, I told you, the dad, Deion Sanders, has signed off on a bunch of what I call fan
04:13fiction.
04:13But a lot of the stuff that he said.
04:15Also, he buried Kevin out the door and Shador's dad, quote, tweeted it and signed off on it.
04:21So, this is not just somebody.
04:23This is not just some random.
04:25People educate Ken on who exactly this is.
04:27I have no idea.
04:27But, again, I will say, if this is a person who β this is a person you're saying is close
04:32to Shador.
04:33Yes.
04:33Then what β
04:34He's in the inner circle.
04:35Okay, but you said we.
04:36You're just talking to people who are close to Shador.
04:38I'm talking about Browns fans.
04:39I don't hear Browns fans comparing him to Fernando Mendoza every day.
04:43Now, we have not spoken a lot about Fernando Mendoza.
04:46We haven't had a reason to.
04:46It's a non-starter for us.
04:49I thought a couple of times, well, the Raiders have a bunch of picks.
04:54If they weren't sure β but that's a conversation about Fernando Mendoza.
04:59I will say that I have heard some people pick apart Fernando Mendoza here.
05:03Because we got a month until the draft.
05:05That's how the draft works.
05:07That's how the draft works.
05:08Are these people new to the NFL in the draft process?
05:11But also β
05:12They get picked apart.
05:13That's the whole process.
05:14I don't think that Fernando Mendoza β if we're doing this, I'll play along with you on it.
05:18Because, one, I don't hear a bunch of Browns fans doing it.
05:21We're talking to Browns fans.
05:22What, the Shador fans, not Browns fans?
05:24I think that Shador fans are Browns β no, I think there's a bunch of people
05:29who don't care about the Browns who are Shador fans, yes.
05:31Wow.
05:32Yeah.
05:32Okay.
05:33If you're talking about people on the internet, yeah.
05:35They don't care about the Browns.
05:37The second he's gone, they're Browns fans.
05:38I thought they were here rooting for the best interest of the Browns.
05:42If Deshaun Watts β oh, the best interest of the Browns is the best quarterback who plays.
05:46If Deshaun Watts ends up winning that quarterback competition,
05:48you think those folks are Browns fans?
05:52Hell no, they're not Browns fans.
05:54So, I'm talking to Browns fans.
05:55So, I'll play along with you on this.
05:57I don't mean no disrespect.
05:59I have no idea who this person is.
06:01All right?
06:02But, if you're thinking that β if you're questioning which one was ridiculed more
06:08or picked apart more Shador Fernando Mendoza, it was absolutely Shador.
06:14Okay.
06:15With 100% it was Shador.
06:16Shador changed β him and his dad changed everything in college football.
06:20I agree with that.
06:21But, part of that is the fault of Shador.
06:26What?
06:26He decided to go against the grain with β
06:31I'm talking β
06:31Representing himself.
06:33Not the interview stuff.
06:35We played the audio from Todd McShay.
06:36No, I'm just saying β
06:37I'm not talking about NFL teams though.
06:39I'm talking about the fans.
06:39We can't act like the season ended a year ago for Shador Sanders,
06:44and then he was arguably going to go maybe number two in the draft
06:49and then just fell out of the good graces of 32 NFL teams out of nowhere.
06:55Stuff happened.
06:56We can't act like β
06:58We don't have a process for a reason.
07:00There is a reason that when your season ends and you have β
07:03now these guys have representation earlier β
07:05that they outline an entire scheme, an entire protocol for how to talk to NFL teams,
07:12how to go through the process, how to choreograph your pro day down to the last second,
07:19guess who screwed up all of this?
07:21Shador and his people.
07:22They did.
07:23And I think it's okay to admit it and then get past it.
07:27Other guys are going to have higher profiles now coming out,
07:29and they're going to do the right things.
07:30In fact, I've heard that NFL prospects have used the Shador experience as a β
07:39I hate to say it.
07:40Yeah, as a way to not screw up your draft prospects.
07:46As to not screw up with β
07:47A cautionary tale is the word you're looking for, term you're looking for.
07:50Absolutely.
07:50So I know you guys don't want to hear this.
07:53You think it's a grand conspiracy.
07:54You think all 32 owners got into a room and singled out one player and one player only.
07:59Again, I called that β
08:00I told you my theories on that before.
08:01I think that's fan fiction.
08:02I think you sound silly.
08:04I think you just got to get over it and admit the process was screwed up.
08:08He botched the entire thing, and now who cares?
08:11He's got an amazing opportunity to start for one of the 32 NFL teams,
08:14and you should be feeling blessed that he's even in that position for a fifth-round pick
08:19that also played as poorly as he did last year.
08:22That's an amazing opportunity that Shador Sanders has,
08:24and I think it looks really bad if you're sitting there dwelling out other guys.
08:28I mean, they're sitting here every day talking about how bad Jackson Dart is
08:32and Tyler Shook, and you'll see Shador is going to be the one guy to emerge.
08:36Maybe he will, but right now it's not looking great.
08:40It has not been off to a good start in his NFL career,
08:43and you just having to go off on Fernando Mendoza and other draft prospects
08:49to make you feel better about your situation,
08:51it's just going to make you look β it's going to make you look kind of small.
08:57You're going to have to show me during the break on all this, okay?
08:59All right, you want me to address this Shador question you asked again?
09:02Even though we've got opening day here and you're messing with people
09:04who know Shador personally, apparently, this is it?
09:07This is what you wanted me to do?
09:09I am trying to be fair, as you know I am.
09:12I'm not trying to be difficult, but I'm going to be difficult about this.
09:16I just don't think Shador fans or Browns fans need to worry about Fernando Mendoza
09:22and his pre-draft process.
09:24Yes, I don't think you need to worry about that.
09:26I think he's handling himself A-OK.
09:28I think Fernando Mendoza is the model of how you approach the pre-draft process,
09:35and the antithesis of that is whatever the hell Shador Sanders did last year.
09:39This is the same thing.
09:40I think it's OK to admit it.
09:41Hold on.
09:42Now, if you're a fan of a player, they're a fan of players.
09:47Now, even though that kind of β I'm going on 40 this year.
09:51I can't be a big fan of a player anymore.
09:55They're 20 years old.
09:57I'm done.
09:58The guys that I grew up loving, they're all in their 60s now.
10:02The guys I knew back in the day who are buddies, they're all around the same age.
10:07They're retiring now.
10:08Like, DeJuan Jones, great young man.
10:11I have an affinity for DeJuan Jones.
10:13Love the kid.
10:14But am I going to wear a DeJuan Jones jersey?
10:17No.
10:18It ain't going to happen.
10:19So this I can't understand.
10:22However, I have lived that life before.
10:24I have been a mega fan before.
10:26It happened to be when I was a child, and his father was playing for the San Francisco 49ers
10:30and then the Dallas Cowboys.
10:31I know before that and after that, but go with me on this.
10:34When his dad was playing for the Niners and Cowboys, he was like the only 49er I liked,
10:38and then obviously I liked him when he was with the Cowboys.
10:43As a super fan of his dad, maybe that carries on for some of them.
10:47But yeah, if I felt the same way and I felt that my favorite player got wronged,
10:52of course I'm going to make comparisons.
10:54Of course I'm going to do that.
10:56Like, I don't think it's very fair that he was drugged through all this last year
11:05and that if you were comparing other guys, like, Fernando Mendoza's number one with a bullet.
11:10Last year it was Cam Ward.
11:11So that I really can't share.
11:14But if we were having some conversation about Ty Simpson and he's shooting up the board,
11:18and it's not really like he is or anything, but we were making all these arguments,
11:21it's like, well, wait a minute.
11:22What the hell are we talking about here?
11:24Now, I look at a guy like Shador Sanders.
11:26Again, I just don't understand how you don't understand that super fans of players
11:32are going to feel wronged that their player is being scrutinized too much.
11:37Like, I saw the video that you told me about, okay, during the break.
11:41He's talking about patting the ball.
11:42Yeah, that was a big thing about Shador Sanders.
11:44Whoever this person is, I've never seen this person before, okay?
11:48Whoever you are and you're talking about Shador Sanders patting the football
11:52compared to Fernando Mendoza patting the football,
11:54well, I'm not sorry.
11:56I think this person on the internet is right.
11:58You're arguing with people on the internet?
12:00Fine.
12:00I guess I'm going to argue with you about people you're arguing with on the internet
12:03because this person is right.
12:05It was a silly-ass thing, people talking about patting the football
12:08when you have another guy patting the football.
12:09Plenty of other guys have patted the football.
12:11So if you're going to bring it up, I don't know about any of the other stuff,
12:14but if the question is, why was Shador Sanders being ripped for patting the football
12:19when these other guys aren't, hey, I think that that's one for Shador.
12:24Sorry.
12:25I can't help you, Tone.
12:27Wait a second.
12:28What?
12:28So first of all, I've seen Fernando Mendoza get ridiculed for all these things.
12:33I've seen Fernando Mendoza get ridiculed too,
12:35but I have not heard Fernando Mendoza get ridiculed for patting the football.
12:42I've never heard that.
12:43I've heard about him being corny.
12:45I've heard about, well, is he staring into the camera too much?
12:49I've heard so many different things about Fernando Mendoza.
12:51But when it comes to actually like playing the game,
12:54there's a couple of things there, but I'm never patting the football.
12:58That did kind of sound kind of cheap last year when we were arguing about that.
13:02I'm sorry.
13:03I'm watching him orchestrate a game-winning drive at Happy Valley.
13:06I don't see him patting the football here as he's throwing amazing balls
13:09into the back of the end zone.
13:10I guess you need to try to trade up and go after Fernando Mendoza because we're in the situation we're
13:15in.
13:15It's just kind of silly.
13:16I can't imagine being obsessed the next year when your guy, Shador,
13:22has an amazing opportunity to win a starting quarterback job, one of 32.
13:27I don't know how many other rooms he'd have a chance to,
13:30but here in Cleveland he absolutely has a chance with a new head coach.
13:33It's an amazing, blessed opportunity, and we're sitting here talking about,
13:37oh, Fernando Mendoza, why aren't you guys mad at him the way you're mad at Mike?
13:41Browns fans.
13:41Think of how silly you sound.
13:43It's even sillier when you're not talking to Browns fans.
13:46That's not a Browns fan.
13:47Well, it's people in Shador's corner.
13:51I don't care.
13:52Who have been co-signed by the father and head coach of the Buffaloes.
13:55It doesn't matter to me.
13:56This, but it definitely matters to them.
13:59Everybody's had goofballs in their corner.
13:59Baker had goofballs in his corner.
14:01Bernie had goofballs in his corner.
14:03Let the record show people in Shador that Ken Carman is calling Shador people goofballs.
14:08I don't know who this person is, but you're sitting there ripping all these people.
14:10Oh, so this whole segment was for you to get me ripped on the internet?
14:13Let the record show that's Ken Carman of Cleveland, Ohio, calling you, Hova, a goofball.
14:19I don't know who you are, man.
14:21I have no idea.
14:22I just think it's a giant waste of time to argue with people who are strangers on the internet,
14:26on the radio, with people in Cleveland who are actually Cleveland fans.
14:32Lord, patent footballs and all that other crap.
14:35Get me to 2027.
14:37I don't see Fernando Mendoza while he is torpedoing his way off bodies into the end zone in the national
14:44championship game to go ahead for good.
14:46I don't see him patent the football there.
