00:00We are one month away from the draft.
00:02You and I did not see this yesterday, but many people did,
00:07and huge sweeping inferences have come from it.
00:10The Browns putting out the one month from now post on social media.
00:15Got a big, beautiful look at Joe Thomas in his heavier days, right?
00:20You got a great look at Miles Garrett, the number one pick.
00:25Gosh, that hairline was so 10 years ago.
00:27You got a great look at Nordonia's own Denzel Ward, right?
00:32The number four pick in the very next draft.
00:34No Baker, by the way.
00:35I was surprised about that one.
00:36He was also a number one pick.
00:37And then the fourth slide, was it Carson Swessinger?
00:41No.
00:41Was it Ronnie Hickman?
00:42No, he's undrafted.
00:43That'd be weird.
00:44That would be weird.
00:44Was it...
00:45It's him on his couch.
00:46Was it Diabate, who they let go for no reason?
00:49No.
00:50It was Jador Sanders.
00:52Three first-rounders and a fifth-rounder,
00:54and many people have many takes about this.
00:56And what are these many takes?
00:58The many takes are, see, this is the Browns saying they're moving ahead with Jador Sanders.
01:02Instead of what seems more realistic, which is just a social media person being like,
01:05hey, anytime we put Jador in any sort of graphics that seems to do particularly well,
01:09why don't we do that here?
01:11Like, they're not tipping off who the week one starting quarterback is
01:14through a social media post in late March.
01:17Yeah, they're tipping off who's going to start week one
01:19because their quarterbacks are Jador Sanders, Dylan Gabriel, and Deshaun Watson.
01:23I, too, have the powers of elimination.
01:27Oh, hey, you stink.
01:28Eliminate.
01:29You are the worst trade in NFL history.
01:31Eliminate.
01:31Ah, hey, I guess it's Shador.
01:33Now, I don't know if you're Dylan Gabriel, if you're like,
01:35shoot, I was drafted ahead of him.
01:36I couldn't even get any love in this.
01:37Maybe that's reality.
01:38If they had done it with Deshaun Watson, maybe we'd be like,
01:41oh, that was really out of left field,
01:43considering it wasn't even drafted with the team.
01:45But I guess they're trying to prop that up for some reason.
01:47I did love the debates today.
01:48If you're Carson Swessinger, are you upset?
01:51Does that cool Cali bro look like he's upset by anything?
01:55Only when he was benched for the first three years of his career at UCLA,
01:58and he thought he was better than that than he was.
01:59Yeah.
02:00That's like the one thing he does in every interview is talk about how he was
02:03benched for three years at UCLA, and he's disgruntled about it.
02:06That's his only gripe in life in general.
02:08All right.
02:09So you got benched for three years needlessly by Chip Kelly,
02:12or the Browns didn't include you in a social media post.
02:15Neck and neck.
02:16Which one is it, Carson?
02:18Neck and neck.
02:19But the Browns aren't particularly good at, I would say,
02:23maybe sending out the messages or understanding the messages
02:25they're currently sending.
02:26Can I put it that way?
02:27I drove by the stadium this weekend,
02:29and on the second tier of banners that they have, Nick,
02:32three out of the four banners are of players that aren't on the roster anymore.
02:36There's a banner of Batonio.
02:37There's a banner of Teller.
02:39There's a banner of Njoku.
02:40And then Denzel Ward is just sandwiched in between.
02:42That part of the messaging in the offseason sometimes just gets a little missed.
02:46Yeah, the funniest thing about that is, just real quick,
02:49Deshaun's actually on the roster,
02:51and they got to taking that one down as quick as possible.
02:55Yeah, yeah.
02:55When did they take it down before last season?
02:59Wasn't it last summer that they took it down?
03:01I don't remember the specifics on it.
03:04I do remember them taking it down, though, and I remember that being a deal.
03:06But, like, I mean, if I had recall on that, I would be a real sick person.
03:10I wish I had recall on that because I would like to be a real sick person.
03:13I just, one of my favorite things about these conversations is acting like there's that much.
03:20I want everyone to put the Browns in the, like, within the framework of your own work.
03:26I'm not saying there's no communication between all the many tentacles of whatever corporation you work for or I work
03:32for.
03:32What I am saying is, it's usually a pretty loose game of telephone,
03:37and we tend to find out things later than, like, the idea that Andrew Barry was like,
03:42hey, 21-year-old in social media, when he goes to post, it's one month from now.
03:48Can we give that guy, like, a little bit of a heads up on what's going on?
03:52Yeah, yeah.
03:52Shador's got to be one of the four.
03:54Don't care who the other three are.
03:55Yes.
03:56Like, literally nobody.
03:57We don't even tell national people what's going on.
03:59And we certainly don't tell any local people, but the guy that may or may not be making more than
04:04minimum wage doing this job,
04:05let's get that guy involved.
04:06Yeah, he's 21.
04:07The guy with absolutely everything to lose in this scenario, let's get that guy involved.
04:11He has three X's in his TikTok account, and we have to let him know our plan so he can
04:16properly bait fans.
04:18So, it's not that I, I do, I want to clear something up, because I think sometimes people hear our
04:24takes on Shador and Deshaun,
04:26and they definitely hear a dismissive connotation from how I talk about him, and that's totally fair.
04:32I am dismissive about the idea, because I think Deshaun as the number two in this competition is totally in
04:38serious.
04:38Yeah, but that's so much heavier weighted towards Deshaun in this than it is Shador.
04:41But, the one thing I don't want to dismiss, like, I guess maybe here's the thing.
04:47I take everything that organization is pushing through reporters with a grain of salt.
04:54So, it's not that I don't think Shador versus Deshaun is going to be the reality.
04:58It's not that I don't think they're going to draft a quarterback, or that, like, I guess my point is,
05:04this organization says things to reporters all the time.
05:08That don't add up.
05:09And quite frankly, they abuse the trust of those reporters, because they make those reporters look really foolish
05:15by telling them things that patently aren't true, to basically play the smoke and mirror game.
05:20Yeah, they're constantly the wild card, is how I've always put it.
05:22They're just a wild, Andrew Barry loves to basically make all reporters and media people look stupid at the end
05:28of the day.
05:29And it's like, well, how do you know that?
05:30Well, look at the most recent big decisions that he's had to make.
05:33The draft last year, he just sent everybody on a completely different excursion than what ended up happening.
05:39And then the coaching stuff with Todd Munkin.
05:41Literally nobody until the morning of, and it's because we saw horses being moved, had Todd Munkin being the head
05:46coach.
05:46Like, this is the game that they play.
05:47And so, I think when it comes to the question, are the Browns preparing us for Shador to be the
05:52quarterback through the media?
05:53The answer is possibly.
05:55But this could also be a giant red herring.
05:57Not the Shador part, but just this being the quarterback battle.
06:00Like, there's still, I think once we get to the week of the NFL draft, if this is your quarterback
06:06room, then it is going to feel like, all right, it's these guys and whoever you may or may not
06:11draft.
06:11But I think there's still time to make a move for Dylan Gabriel to get him off the roster.
06:17Which, honestly, I think might be one of the things, slow playing the Browns, adding any other quarterback to this
06:22roster.
06:22And the other thing is, we're still in the, I mean, what was it?
06:25Kenny Pickett was traded, I think, a week before the draft.
06:28I think Joe Flacco was signed, I think, the week of the draft last year.
06:31They were both in April, yeah.
06:32This is where I think, and I think this is intelligent, if the Browns are playing it this way, the
06:40Browns are slow playing this to see if anything shakes free.
06:43So, I think they're still playing the choose-your-own-adventure side of things.
06:48So, I think when we go looking for definitive statements, I think that's really foolish to do, because the Browns
06:54have proven time and time again,
06:56they owe you no honesty and no clarity on what their actual plans, and this is why you always have
07:03to dig deeper and think for yourself about what do they really want out of all of this.
07:08Well, and just when you think you have them, then they all of a sudden swerve.
07:10But on that point, though, like, what do you think is really going to happen?
07:12I also, I don't want to discredit anybody that's come to the conclusion that what they think right now, that
07:17it's Shador and it's Deshaun as being a logical choice,
07:20because it is, in many ways, a logical choice.
07:22If you're thinking about 2026 the way that it's being presented, that they think about 2026,
07:27which is, basically, if Shador does something, then great, and if he doesn't, then you're in line for 2027.
07:32Like, I understand that logic just the same way I understand that Andrew Barry could just throw a curveball
07:38and just all of a sudden make some big move that nobody sees coming.
07:412-1-6-4-7-4-0-9-2.
07:43I think the Browns are still waiting to see if anything else shakes free,
07:48and that they can continue to fall back on Shador or Deshaun,
07:52because if nothing shakes free, they can just move forward with that
07:55and have the, oh, no, this is our plan all the time after the draft,
08:00if that's how things settle out here.
