00:00If you want to join our kind, then you can't know where we live.
00:06Welcome to Mojo Plays, and today we're taking a look at 10 things that only true fans noticed in Season
00:132 of Fallout.
00:15Whoa! Back to the internment camp, posers! Turn around and start walking or I will shoot!
00:22Before we begin, we publish new videos all week long, so be sure to subscribe to Mojo Plays and ring
00:27the bell to be notified about our latest videos.
00:31Fisto!
00:32You can't begrudge a man for filling the void, can you?
00:36Fully integrated security technotronic officer active and reporting for duty.
00:42By now, you've probably heard some fans freaking out about some random Protectron appearing in the show.
00:48Indeed, the fifth episode of Season 2 shows a brief scene where the snake oil salesman sits down for a
00:54date with a rather filthy-minded Protectron.
00:56Oh, a looky-loo, eh? Go watch from behind a shrub or something like a civilized pervert.
01:05Now, where were we?
01:08This robot is none other than Fisto, a strange and risque machination featured in Fallout New Vegas.
01:16Players were able to meet Fisto in Cerulean Robotics located within Freeside, so fairly early in the game.
01:23And yes, you can hire Fisto for his, um, services, if you're into that kind of thing.
01:30Circles active!
01:35Clancy Brown
01:36Mr. President, thank you for doing the right thing, son.
01:41No, we're not counting the actor himself exactly. We all know who Clancy Brown is.
01:46The guy's a legend in the world of entertainment, having voiced Dr. Cortex in Crash Bandicoot and Lex Luthor in
01:52a number of DC Comics related products.
01:54But the special thing about his appearance in the Fallout TV show is that he does have a bit of
01:59history with the franchise.
02:01Way back in 1997, Brown voiced Rhombus in the original Fallout game.
02:06I am Rhombus, head of the Paladins. I train those willing to learn.
02:12Rhombus was not a US President, but a Paladin serving the Lost Hills chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel.
02:19The hub and the boneyard are south, mountains are east, and desolate wasteland north.
02:25Whoever goes there never returns.
02:29Giddyup Buttercup
02:36Granted, the Giddyup Buttercup toy has already made an appearance in the Fallout TV series. Sort of.
02:42The sixth episode of season one showed a newspaper that mentions a lawsuit involving the toy pony.
02:48We finally get a proper look at it in the sixth episode of season two, when Lucy visits her old
02:53bedroom.
02:54Next to the head of her bed sits a yellow Giddyup Buttercup.
02:58Gotta say, it's a lot smaller than what the ads indicated.
03:02Now Giddyup Buttercups can't resist the taste of Nuka-Cola, so check all our refreshment stands.
03:10F-E-V
03:17There were a handful of times throughout season two where characters mention or allude to a mysterious disease known as
03:25the Forced Evolutionary Virus.
03:27This was a bioweapon created by West Tech Corporation, meant to alter a being's DNA in however way it sees
03:34fit.
03:35Throughout the Fallout games, the virus has been responsible for creating super mutants, floaters, and, more infamously, centaurs.
03:51Judging from the way Thaddeus has been slowly mutating throughout the show, we have a strong feeling that the serum
03:56he drank was the F-E-V, and he's now on his way to becoming a centaur.
04:01You sure?
04:02Your arm fell off.
04:04You know, if you just give me a few minutes here, I bet I can sort it out.
04:08If I can get the finger on the trigger, then I can-
04:11Patrolling the Mojave
04:13Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.
04:20Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.
04:24In the beginning of season two's second episode, we get a glimpse into the final hours of Shady Sands.
04:29Unbeknownst to the town's residents, a caravan is approaching with a man repeatedly saying,
04:34Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.
04:38An ominous uttering in hindsight, but this phrase does actually come from Fallout New Vegas.
04:44Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.
04:47Players may recall some instances where NPCs that aligned with the NCR would sometimes pass by the player with that
04:54phrase.
04:55For some reason.
04:57Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.
05:00The Poster Board
05:06In the seventh episode of season two, we see Chet begin to unravel Stephanie's devious deeds,
05:11and slowly discover that she is not who she appears to be.
05:15The breaking point was a diversion tactic she employs to get Vault 32 to forget about Woody's sudden disappearance.
05:22When Chet discovers he is getting married to her the next day, we can see the poster board filled with
05:27other Fallout iconography and references.
05:30Two posters show Vault Boy and his sniper and ninja perk appearances.
05:34There is also a notice regarding a lost book called Dean's Electronics,
05:38which is an actual item you can pick up in New Vegas and the other mainline games to greatly increase
05:43your repair skill permanently.
05:45Then start dragging the river for me.
05:49War never changes.
05:51War never changes.
06:06War never changes.
06:14We've heard this line delivered by famed actor Ron Perlman several times and several times more when replaying the games.
06:21War. War never changes.
06:25Well, we managed to get to season two's sixth episode before it was finally said.
06:31When confronting his wife about her role in the bombs dropping, Cooper says the phrase,
06:35but in a way to tell Barbara that he knows everything and that he's trudged through the path of violence
06:41and horror before.
06:42And he'd rather not do it again.
06:44War never changes.
06:47Helios One.
06:49Hey man, went in Rome.
06:51This power plant was one of the coolest locations in Fallout New Vegas,
06:56next to the Sunset Sarsaparilla factory in the town of Prim, of course.
07:00Helios One was once regarded as the dawn of a golden age with its solar power infrastructure,
07:05but its development was never officially finished on account of the bombs dropping and wiping out most of humanity.
07:12So what does this have to do in the show?
07:13Well, eagle-eyed viewers may have spotted this in the third episode of season two.
07:18As Harkness and Maximus are flying across the desert,
07:22they pass by a large building just hidden beyond the mountains.
07:25Yep, that is Helios One just sitting right there in the distance.
07:38Uranium Fever.
07:51For New Vegas fans, season two was probably perfect in how it incorporates familiar locations and imagery from the 2010
07:59game.
08:00But there was some love for Fallout 4 fans as well, and the second support group meeting was the best
08:05moment of the bunch.
08:06Reg's support group is gorging on rations, and in a moment to liven up the party, Reg hops on the
08:12piano and fantasizes an entire snack-fueled dance party.
08:17Uranium Fever was such a fitting choice for this moment, and a polite nod to Fallout 4 fans, as the
08:30song was a massive hit among players back in 2015.
08:33The song also may indicate that season three may be moving us to the Commonwealth.
08:38Or maybe we will in season four.
08:41Uranium Fever has done and cut me down!
08:50The Frozen Zayden.
08:56Holy shit!
08:58When the Brotherhood of Steel discover Area 51, they find a ton of items and technology from before the war
09:04that have been preserved here.
09:06Along with a classic car, they find a frozen alien carcass until they shove it to the ground and completely
09:12ignore it because
09:13Hey! A real icebox!
09:16A real f***ing icebox!
09:19Ha!
09:21Hardcore Fallout fans know that that corpse was no generic alien corpse.
09:26No, the Brotherhood had found remnants of the Zaydens.
09:30These extraterrestrial beings have appeared in every Bethesda published game from Fallout 3 onwards.
09:36And they do indeed look like the corpse we saw in the show.
09:39However, you may need to obtain the Wild Wasteland perk in Fallout New Vegas if you want to encounter them
09:45yourself.
09:53Was there another detail you noticed in Season 2 of Fallout?
