00:06I am so excited that we are in this room with Erin because she is our good luck charm. This
00:11is the winner's room. We are all gonna win a challenge. It feels like it's like so cool to
00:16be able to like kick off the season with first win. It is so wild being the first winner. It
00:23wasn't like this like amazing surprise but I was up against some other people where their stuff
00:27was good too but either way. I'm just glad we're all still in here. Definitely. I don't know about
00:34the other ones but I was happy to be safe. I don't think safe is bad. It's not an option
00:39for me. I'm
00:39sorry to say it. That's ridiculous. Safe is better than going home but being on the top is even better
00:46than that. Good morning designers. Good morning. I am delighted to
00:57welcome a very special guest, the Chief Marketing Officer of Just Fab, Tracy Inglis. Tracy, welcome.
01:03Hi. We're thrilled to have you here. Thank you. Hi designers. I'm so excited to be here in New York
01:08City presenting you with your Just Fab challenge. Just Fab is my jam. Just Fab. On the island of
01:17Manhattan there are four million women and more who are getting dressed every single morning. Just Fab's
01:24goal is to make women of every age, every height, every size look and feel fabulous.
01:30And today designers, that's where you come in. Indeed.
01:40What's going on? Oh wow. There's a lot of them. Hey ladies. Here comes this army of women. I mean
01:47it's women coming from the left, from the right, from the north side, south side. Women coming
01:51everywhere looking like a video. Yeah. I wonder what this is. Oh snap. Oh my. These ladies like came out
02:00of
02:00nowhere. Even some of the women that were sitting on the bench started getting up. I was like oh
02:04I knew these women had something to do it. I knew it. Here we have 100 women of all ages,
02:12all sizes, and they
02:13are all fabulous. These are the kinds of women who shop at Just Fab. All women. We are fab for
02:22all.
02:23Your challenge is to create a look that could make any of these women, any size, any shape, any age,
02:29feel like the most fabulous version of herself.
02:31The challenge is to create a look that can speak to a variety of ladies. Wow. The everyday woman is
02:38a woman who is on the go. A mom, a businesswoman, a wife, and a woman.
02:43In a lot of ways it's myself. Please remember that versatility and diversity among your clientele does not mean humdrum.
02:52You are creating fashion. All right?
02:55That's the key because we are going to reproduce and sell the winning look on JustFab.com.
03:06I just graduated college and to get my outfit featured in Just Fab would be absolutely amazing.
03:13I'm excited about this challenge at the same time. I'm wary. I understand the meaning of that word because I
03:20can't Google right now.
03:21So designers, you have 30 minutes to sketch and then we're making our first trip to Mood where you will
03:26have a budget of $150.
03:28And this is a one day challenge. You will be presenting your work to the judges tomorrow.
03:33Good luck designers. I can't wait to see what you come up with.
03:36Let's get sketching.
03:39There's nothing more spectacular to me as a designer than working with the everyday woman.
03:46I think of my mom. I think of my stepmother. So I start sketching a pair of pants with more
03:52of a designed pleat and a basic tank top with a great sheer top.
03:57I am simply pumped.
04:03I'm designing a jumpsuit. When I do sketch, it's just to give me an idea of where I go. But
04:09I sketch and then I drape. It changes all the time.
04:14I'm seeing all these architectural wonders. The coat I'm going to make is transparent but also represents us being in
04:23New York.
04:23That's kind of influencing the decisions I'm making for my garment.
04:28All right designers, we are headed to Mood. Our first trip. Follow me everyone.
04:37All right designers, you have your budget of $150 and you have 30 minutes to shop. And your time starts
04:43now.
04:50I really wanted to go for volume with this dress. So I got neoprene in the two colors that I
04:55wanted. This beautiful coral red.
04:57And then also I guess this one too.
04:58And then this sort of baby blue for the base of the dress.
05:02I like this.
05:05Wait, are these real fur?
05:07Fox.
05:08Oh. Hmm. Okay.
05:10I'm like a dog that sees a squirrel.
05:12Squirrel? Squirrel?
05:13I had to make sure to stay focused.
05:16Oh, thank you very much.
05:18And I didn't even have time to really have a backup plan or anything like that.
05:25Time is up.
05:27Thank you so much.
05:28Thank you so much. Have a great day.
05:30Let's watch. Eyes here.
05:33All right designers, let's head back to the work room.
05:37Thank you Mood.
05:41Wow.
05:43Let's do this.
05:49All right, you have a lot of work ahead of you everyone. I will be back later for critiques. You
05:54will have a model fitting after that. And remember you have until one o'clock in the morning. All right.
05:59And tomorrow is our runway.
06:00Wow.
06:01I will see you for critiques later. Work, work, work. And enjoy the brother's sewing room. Thank you.
06:09How's your ankle?
06:11My ankle is actually good, man.
06:12It's Boston.
06:13I don't even know how. It's good because it was so bad last night.
06:16Right. Maybe because you slept on it and weren't.
06:19I did an African prayer.
06:21Right.
06:22I went to school for fashion in Paris for about six years and I stopped. I went on a modeling
06:28career for 15 years and I restarted designing about five years ago.
06:32I think I was like eight months pregnant when I, uh, when I entered fashion school. Nobody knew. And having
06:38a kid at 16 was the craziest experience of my life. It was tough.
06:44So my dad actually, um, find out a couple of weeks before I gave birth and, uh, I was no
06:51longer his daughter so he cut me off.
06:53He passed away in 07. We never talked. We never talked again since I was 16. I had to make
07:00peace with her.
07:02My dad was my best friend.
07:05I had to let him go.
07:10But it's all good today.
07:11Me and my daughter, we close. So I guess it was worth it.
07:20Oh, yeah.
07:21Kayton.
07:22Hi.
07:25How is everyone?
07:26Great.
07:28I'm eager to see what you're doing.
07:29Me too.
07:31So Alex, you were the first designer finished at Mood.
07:35Yeah, I ran through that place.
07:36But you really knew what you were doing. You were dogging and determined and this list is fantastic.
07:41Color-coded everything.
07:43Is this how you always work?
07:44Yeah.
07:45Well, my hat's off to you.
07:46I'm very OCD. If it's not perfect, it's not, it's not good to me.
07:50I wanted to kind of make a play of like a nice tapered pant.
07:54Uh-huh.
07:54That had a little bit of a structural quality to it.
07:56Okay.
07:57And then I'm doing a chiffon button-down and just a basic camisole underneath.
08:03Okay. And I think it's a really great pant design.
08:07What concerns do you have?
08:09I wasn't happy with my construction on the last challenge.
08:12Where did you see the flaws?
08:13I'm just a critical head.
08:15All right, but be careful. I mean, these are one day challenges.
08:18No.
08:18There's only so much you can achieve.
08:20How's our winner?
08:21How are you?
08:21I'm good. I'm eager to hear what you're doing.
08:23Who do you see the Just Fab woman being?
08:27So, I was really inspired by all of the women there today.
08:31The first thing I thought about was like how to kind of like maybe change like a garment
08:35so it could be worn two ways.
08:37So I kind of wanted to take this fitted top.
08:39Okay.
08:40And then like it could be like this sort of like tent dress, but then have this mechanism
08:45where like it'll be like a snap underneath this panel.
08:48Pull it over.
08:48Oh, so you could.
08:48You can wear it two ways.
08:49All right.
08:50I mean, I like your explanation.
08:52I get it.
08:53Tasha.
08:54Hey, boss man.
08:55Is that my nickname?
08:56Yes, your nickname.
08:58I'm very flattered.
08:58My Just Fab girl is the girl that's on the budget.
09:01What's the shape of the skirt?
09:02Just a straight skirt.
09:03I'm just wondering, is this personal enough?
09:06Hmm.
09:07I was going to do a play on menswear.
09:10Okay.
09:11And then just do like a button up shirt dress.
09:13Well, I have to tell you, I have a personal fondness for the shirt dress.
09:18Mm-hmm.
09:18And I love this riff on it.
09:20I don't know.
09:21Like the drop couch thing is totally my thing.
09:23I'm just worried how the judges are going to proceed that.
09:25As I say, throw the dice.
09:27If you play it safe, no one ever wins.
09:29Right.
09:29Got to take a chance.
09:30Right.
09:30I'm arrested immediately.
09:32You have a knit.
09:34My idea is urban kimono.
09:37I find in my own life that I need versatile clothing.
09:40I use that word repeatedly, versatile.
09:42This is going to be underneath a coat, a sheer kimono jacket.
09:46I'm going to have, almost mimicking this hole, a very small opening here that gives it a little bit of
09:52drama.
09:53I'm hoping my design will stand out to the judges, and I also hope the versatility of my design and
10:00my coat will be appealing to a lot of women.
10:02So, it's going to be a dress.
10:05I wanted it to have this structural piece in the back, so from the side, the judges will get like
10:11a visual of maybe even like a hood, but it's really not.
10:14Right.
10:14Because I don't want to be safe anymore. I have to like, get up there.
10:18I think that this black and white piece should be a separate.
10:24Mm-hmm.
10:25It just gives them more options.
10:28Given the innovation of the jacket, is the skirt too basic?
10:32Having this skirt that has this very screaming pattern, I think it's very basic.
10:39That is the right answer.
10:40I was going to do it in red, like a reddish orange, but the denim was speaking to me more.
10:44This design is so much more impactful executed in this denim.
10:50Okay.
10:51You have the potential here to really not people soft-solve.
10:57Laurence, how are you doing?
10:58Hi.
10:58Hi.
10:59Made a lot of progress.
11:00Yeah, I'm making a jumpsuit.
11:02How flattering will it be on someone who's petite, someone who's larger than a 12?
11:12That's a good question.
11:20Um...
11:20How will women of different sizes wear this?
11:25Um...
11:27I have to think about that one.
11:28Think about it.
11:29I've decided to go back and redesign my jumpsuit.
11:31I'm going to change the finishing of the sleeves and the bottom and change the drop cross.
11:35It was still a little drop, but a little less.
11:38Rick.
11:39Hi, Tim.
11:40Hi.
11:41How are you handling this challenge?
11:42So far, I'm plowing through it, I think.
11:46Okay.
11:46Being on the bottom last week helped me understand my weaknesses more.
11:51What I want to do while I'm here is grow.
11:54How would you describe your just fab woman?
11:56Funky, casual, not trying too hard.
12:00Okay.
12:00And modern.
12:01This is like the base of a jacket.
12:04I also have this leather that I was thinking of using as a shoulder treatment and then a pant.
12:10I wanted to do a, like, firm knit pull-on pant.
12:13Huh.
12:16You look worried.
12:18I think less is more with this.
12:20All right.
12:21All right.
12:21I'm going to let you get back to work.
12:22Thank you, Tim.
12:24So I want to do, like, an elongated bomber with a backwards kimono sleeve and then a dress.
12:30Could you see this as a coat dress?
12:33Yes.
12:34Why don't you?
12:35Okay.
12:36I'm making a jacket and some leggings.
12:39This mesh back.
12:41So it's an open back.
12:42Because I plan on doing a sports bra with straps in the back.
12:46Are you over-designing this?
12:48I don't think so.
12:49It's just looking a little like a cartoon.
12:53Can I ask you to hold this black textile up?
12:58Yeah.
12:58To cover up the green?
13:00Oh, yes.
13:01Okay.
13:03It looks more modern.
13:04Would you mind repeating that?
13:06It looks more modern.
13:09Good heavens, Kimber.
13:10You're all organized.
13:12Okay.
13:12Talk to me.
13:13I am not ready to meet Tim and listen to him critique what I'm doing.
13:18I am so not ready.
13:20This is what I'm going to do.
13:21A high-waste pant.
13:22Okay.
13:23And an asymmetric high-low top.
13:25These are options as far as my top is concerned.
13:30Okay.
13:30This is for the pants.
13:31Stretched in them.
13:32This is a great marriage.
13:34And you've already drafted your patterns?
13:37Started draping the pattern for my pants.
13:39I know once it's time for me to put it together.
13:41All right.
13:41I fold really quick.
13:42But then I'm going to let you do that.
13:44We have a long day.
13:45And I'm not worried about time.
13:47At all.
13:49I'll have it all done.
13:50All right, designers.
13:51I am very excited about what you're doing.
13:54You have done a lot of work.
13:56You have a lot more to do.
13:57Your models will be coming in very shortly.
14:00All right?
14:01And you know you have until 1 a.m.
14:03And we'll have our regular rhythm and beats tomorrow morning.
14:06Okay?
14:07And I will see you in the morning.
14:08All right?
14:09Work hard.
14:11See you tomorrow.
14:12Bye-bye.
14:13What time is it?
14:154.30.
14:15I have a lot of work.
14:18See?
14:19Woo!
14:22What's your name?
14:23Laif.
14:24La Isla Bonita.
14:25Can't even believe I get you.
14:26Look at her.
14:27I know.
14:28This particular thing.
14:30I know it's not that exciting.
14:31You're going to make it exciting, right?
14:34Yes, for sure.
14:35Awesome.
14:37There you go.
14:39I'll press everything out.
14:40Nothing's pressed at the moment.
14:42Bye.
14:50Down to the wire.
14:51Five minutes.
14:55Okay, guys.
14:56Time to go home.
14:56Bye.
14:57Bye.
14:58Oh, God.
15:00Oh, God.
15:02We're gonna have to wait.
15:04Yeah.
15:05We're gonna have to wait.
15:06We're gonna have to wait for you.
15:06We're gonna have to wait for you.
15:07All right.
15:09Bye.
15:10Bye.
15:14All right, let's get to work.
15:18I just have, like, so much to finish.
15:20I just want my to be right.
15:22I don't care about anything else.
15:24I actually sewed my top inside out, and I'm like,
15:28what the am I going to do now?
15:30I don't have time to make another top.
15:31I'm so crazy at this moment,
15:34because I still got to do my pants.
15:36Ah, .
15:38Hi, Tim.
15:39Good morning, designers.
15:41Good morning, Tim.
15:42Another quiet room, which I love.
15:44But is everyone all right?
15:45Yeah.
15:46Yeah.
15:46Your models will come in soon.
15:48You will have two hours to send them
15:50through the Sally Beauty Studio
15:51and the Mary Kay Color Design Studio, all right?
15:55This is our Just Fab Challenge.
15:57So use the Just Fab Accessories wall very thoughtfully, okay?
16:03And I will see you a little later.
16:05All right, thank you.
16:06Thank you, Tim.
16:08Thanks, Tim.
16:13The models are here, guys.
16:15Morning.
16:16How are you?
16:17Great.
16:18Almost done.
16:18Look at this.
16:20I think it's perfect.
16:21Yeah.
16:22I'm happy.
16:23I think we'll have you put on the dress.
16:25All to the end.
16:26Perfect.
16:27Okay.
16:28Just want to see what the bucket's for.
16:30Laurence's jumpsuit is the bomb.
16:32I would wear it.
16:33My daughters would wear it.
16:35It's really cool, just like her.
16:42What do you think for the lip?
16:43I'm thinking all-in lip.
16:45This is amazing.
16:46This gel matte lipstick,
16:48because it's like the color of her skin almost.
16:51Yeah.
16:51Perfect.
16:52Nice. I like it.
16:52Thank you so much.
16:53I want it to look like it's achievable at home.
16:57Using just the black pencil like this,
17:00in two seconds,
17:01it starts to create that little smoke.
17:04I love that.
17:05I kind of want to focus on the eyes.
17:06I think that's like my thing.
17:07My dress is like a teal.
17:09This is called a dure.
17:10That's awesome.
17:14Okay, so who is your Just Fab girl?
17:16The cool hipster fashion intern.
17:18Just some strands of hair hanging,
17:19because she's wearing a scully.
17:20She has a little beanie on.
17:21Yeah, beanie on, and I want to braid to the side.
17:24So let's do a fat fishtail.
17:25Okay.
17:26Kind of break it up.
17:27Yep.
17:27Beautiful. I love this.
17:30I love all the curls up right about there.
17:33No problem.
17:34A center part slicked back into a low button.
17:37Off her face.
17:38Off her face.
17:38Okay.
17:38Because she has that structure.
17:39I would use this texture here,
17:41and let's just contain it.
17:42Yeah.
17:43Perfect.
17:45I feel good about it.
17:46They look good.
17:47Yes.
17:48I know the construction isn't the best,
17:50but I know it's not the worst.
17:52I really feel good about it.
17:54Designers, you and your models and I
17:56are going down to the runway.
17:59All right, everyone?
17:59Okay.
18:00Off we go.
18:02Laurence, you ready?
18:03All right.
18:04Done.
18:11Hello.
18:11Hello.
18:13Hello, everybody.
18:14Hi.
18:15And welcome to the runway.
18:17As you know, in fashion, one day you're in,
18:19and the next day, you're out.
18:20There are 15 of you here, and after tonight,
18:22there will be 14.
18:24But this challenge, Just Fab, asked you to create looks
18:28that would make any woman feel like a million dollars.
18:31And you were to design a fashionable look that would be fab
18:35for all.
18:35And the winner of today's challenge will have their look
18:38reproduced and sold on justfab.com.
18:42All right, let's say hello to our judges.
18:43First, we have creative director of Brooks Brothers Women
18:46and Fashion Designer, Zach Posen.
18:48Hello, designers.
18:50Creative director for Marie Claire Magazine, Nina Garcia.
18:54Hi, everyone.
18:54And today's guest judge, actress Nina Dobrev,
18:58starring in the upcoming Triple X return of Xander Cage.
19:02Welcome.
19:04Hi, guys.
19:06And as you know, Tim is your mentor and will not be judging
19:09your looks.
19:10We have an anonymous runway show, so we the judges will not
19:13know who made which look.
19:14All right?
19:15Let's start the show.
19:23My heart is just pounding, but I think she looks dope.
19:27She looks how I wanted her to look, so I feel good.
19:43I'm feeling very confident about the look.
19:45She's working the runway.
19:46I feel my garment definitely is something that a normal woman
19:49would wear.
19:51I like your play with the pattern.
20:04I feel that my pants are absolutely on point.
20:07I know that this is the Just Fab woman.
20:11I couldn't be happier.
20:22I feel great about this.
20:23It has just enough street funk, but it also has enough structure
20:27for someone who is kind of scared to try something different.
20:33I love that.
20:43I'm loving it.
20:44It's really girly.
20:46She can put on sneakers.
20:46She can put on heels.
20:47Whichever one she choose to do.
20:51I think it really does represent me and the everyday woman.
20:55She looks amazing.
21:07She's so gorgeous.
21:09I'm feeling like the design actually might work.
21:14I know it doesn't look great, but I hope to slide by because at least I took a risk.
21:25I'm hoping that the judges see my aesthetic.
21:27I think it looks clean and polished.
21:30I love the jacket.
21:32It's very androgynous.
21:46The combination of the two pieces and the way I accessorized it, it really is about the
21:51complete look and that's what the Just Fab woman wants.
21:54I think the look is amazing.
22:06It is sexy, confident.
22:08My styling is on point.
22:10The clutch adds just the amount of texture and it picks up on the tangerine stitching as
22:15well as the shoes.
22:16I'm very happy.
22:19I want that dress.
22:26She's very modern.
22:27She's very hip.
22:28I do have a pop of color in there that hopefully the judges will notice.
22:34I actually feel really good about this look.
22:44I'm loving the look.
22:45I'm loving how I did all the navies on top.
22:49The look is good.
22:50I'm confident in what I made.
22:51I love it.
22:54The beanie is on it.
23:05I made a look that I feel a lot of women could incorporate into their wardrobe.
23:11I feel good about it.
23:24I'm sending out something that feels me and everyday girl.
23:31It's nice.
23:32It's clean.
23:33I feel good about it.
23:42The movement of the jacket against the contrast of the two pieces are for me just amazing.
23:49It looks like a handmade delicious brand.
23:52It's simplicity but at the same time it's complex.
23:57It's absolutely wearable and beautifully made.
24:04I think I have the craziest look on the runway just because of color.
24:08I'm feeling very confident.
24:10We slayed this.
24:22Tonight we saw some looks that we really liked and some that we didn't as much.
24:27We have just learned which designer created which look.
24:32If I call your name, please step forward.
24:35Erin.
24:37Kimber.
24:38Alex.
24:40Laurence.
24:41Linda.
24:43Rick.
24:43Rick.
24:45If I have not called your name, congratulations.
24:48Your scores have qualified you to move on to the next round.
24:51You can leave the runway.
24:59The six of you have the highest and the lowest scores.
25:04One of you will be named the winner and one of you will be out.
25:09Let's bring out your models.
25:16Hi Alex.
25:17Hi.
25:18Tell us about your look.
25:19My woman in my head has always kind of been like this Upper East girl that's not afraid
25:25to get on a motorcycle.
25:26And because we were looking at all body shapes and all types of women, it went natural waist
25:31and it actually has a little bit of an elastic back.
25:34I really wanted to go with the sheer top so somebody can make it their own with a color
25:39underneath.
25:40I really like this look, Alex.
25:42I gave it a high score.
25:44I think it looked from head to toe really polished.
25:49I do love the bow very, very much.
25:51Yeah, me too.
25:51I do love the pants with the pockets very, very much.
25:54Yeah.
25:54I also like the sleeves.
25:55Just the way it drapes over and falls.
25:57It's really pretty.
25:58Yeah, it's very, you know, Uptown Upper East Side fantasy.
26:02I like the mystery that you created with textures and proportions and volumes there.
26:09Kimber, tell us about your look.
26:11With this being A-line and high-low, I thought of this being the everyday woman.
26:17Girls and women that either if they're slim or if they're heavy set or whatever, a lot
26:22of times the midsection is always a part that a woman wants to sit in.
26:27And so I love making the high-waist pants.
26:30I think that when the coolest thing on your outfit is the model's hair, we have a problem.
26:37In terms of fashion, it's okay.
26:40It shouldn't be okay.
26:41It needs to be fantastic.
26:43You know, as much as I agree with a lot of the things that you guys are all saying, I
26:47do disagree on a couple of things.
26:49Yes, it is hard to wear crop tops in general.
26:52She was considerate enough to put the pant higher.
26:55Also, the fact that there was a pattern on top, it does pop a little bit more.
26:59With the darker pant, it looks stunning.
27:03Laurence, tell us about your look.
27:04I was thinking about something cool that every woman could wear.
27:08So I came up with a jumpsuit, not too fitted.
27:10I figured if you have a little booty to hide, you could hide it in it or a little bit
27:14of belly.
27:15And I did a little opening, like a little collar in the back and a pocket and a drop pouch.
27:20Laurence, it is so easy and I feel like that is something that really any woman could wear.
27:26Yes, I mean, jumpsuits are no new invention.
27:30But at the same time, you did bring a lot of new little design elements to your jumpsuit.
27:35You know, I love having the little collar in the back.
27:38I love the pockets.
27:38I love how you styled it with the pumps.
27:41That is my kind of girl.
27:42I think you had some really interesting proportion play.
27:45You took something very utilitarian, you know, and played with themes.
27:49I think it's very fresh and current to the eye.
27:51It looks polished and sharp.
27:53Even the detail of the bottom, the ruching at the ankle, just gives it that little bit of edge.
27:59Linda, tell us about your look.
28:01I was thinking about the urban woman.
28:03The woman who may have had children and wants to make sure she shows the best parts of her body.
28:10I have three kids.
28:12I know my body's changed quite a bit.
28:14I was going for an urban kimono look.
28:17And so on the underneath, I chose a gray knit, which I thought was really beautiful.
28:22And I put a little peek boo in the top just to give some relief.
28:27Ms. Garcia, what do you think?
28:31Um, hmm.
28:32I do have a problem with your color palette.
28:36I also have a problem with your fabric for the kimono because it looks really shabby.
28:43I think a knit dress is a very hard item to wear, no matter what your figure is.
28:52I agree with you.
28:53Knit is so hard.
28:54I would not wear a knit either.
28:56Knit is so hard.
28:56Really, I really, I disagree.
28:58The knit gives some curves that I think look really beautiful.
29:01Can she turn around and take off the kimono?
29:03It's like the mundo.
29:04It's already droopy butt.
29:05It is all, this is a model and she's got a problem.
29:10It grows.
29:11Who is this girl?
29:12Where is she wearing this to?
29:13To the office?
29:14Where is she wearing it?
29:15Yeah, I mean going to the office and then picking up her kids afterwards and going out
29:18to dinner with her husband.
29:20Really?
29:20No one is going to lunch and just picking up her kids in school.
29:22You know, I was going for it.
29:24Sometimes things don't work.
29:25You got to try those things.
29:27Brick, tell us about your look.
29:29The first thing that I thought about was the girl.
29:32And I thought of one of my friends back home.
29:35She works nine to five and she has a really good, funky, eclectic aesthetic.
29:42And it's always hard for her to find a blazer to wear.
29:45So I thought, huh, what if I made just a really sharp, like fit and flare jacket with flattering lines
29:53that would work on a variety of body types and a pull-on pant that is like a chic knit
29:59and a graphic print.
30:01Well, last episode you had many personalities in one design.
30:07This time you have no personality.
30:10And the number one thing less flattering than a knit dress is knit pants.
30:17I thought these were cute.
30:19I would wear them.
30:20It's just hard to wear.
30:22Can I see the back?
30:26I have so little to say.
30:30Oh God.
30:31I don't know.
30:32The first thing that popped into my head was mullet.
30:35Business in the front, party in the back.
30:36And it feels like it's business on the top and then couch party on the bottom.
30:41Yeah, she can't help make up her mind whether to go to work or be a couch today.
30:46Erin, please tell us about your look.
30:48It was really amazing to see these hundreds of women.
30:50I really took off on when Tim said, versatility.
30:54And I was thinking about different body shapes.
30:56So I kind of thought it would be cool if there was like an outfit that could change.
30:59So what I did is I made these flaps adjustable.
31:03Oh wow.
31:05Yeah, you can cinch it.
31:07Very smart.
31:07Yeah, you can cinch it at the waist.
31:09Charming.
31:09Yeah.
31:10Very.
31:10Really well done.
31:11I mean, I love the transformative quality of it.
31:14I think it's effective in the neoprene.
31:16Not the easiest fabric to wear for all body types.
31:21But I think, you know, it feels very high fashion.
31:23And I think you've made something very wearable.
31:26Can she turn?
31:26I want to see how it looks with the belt clothes from the back.
31:30Oh, I think it's excellent.
31:31Yes.
31:32Excellent.
31:32Even better.
31:33Even better.
31:34For me, this look really stood out when I saw it.
31:37And seeing it right here in this sea of black and gray.
31:41And you brought us color.
31:43And I think that's a fun dress.
31:45Yeah.
31:45And if I were shopping online, that look would go on my cart immediately.
31:52That's my goal.
31:54A lot of women, I would wear that.
31:56Thank you, Erin.
31:57Thanks.
31:58Okay, we've heard what you had to say.
32:00We're going to bring out your models, have a little chat.
32:03And then I call you back onto the runway.
32:05Now you can leave the runway.
32:12The winner of Project Runway will receive $100,000 to launch their line.
32:16A year's supply of Sally Beauty products, along with $25,000 in cash, travel and hotel
32:22accommodations to inspiring destinations around the world from best Western hotels
32:26and resorts.
32:26A new Lexus IS from Mary Kay, an entire year's worth of beauty products for their fashion shows
32:32and professional makeup artist services for their debut show.
32:35A complete sewing and crafting studio from Brothers Sewing and Embroidery.
32:39And the winning designer and model will receive a fashion spread in Mary Claire magazine.
32:44Hi, Tim.
32:45Hi, Heidi.
32:46Hello.
32:47Hello, Zach.
32:48Hi, Tim.
32:48Hello, Nina and Nina.
32:49Hello, ladies.
32:51So, Sharika wearing Aaron.
32:54Wow.
32:55Really cool.
32:56I mean, it does look great close up.
32:58I wish she would have done this on the runway.
33:01I really do.
33:01That was a great surprise.
33:03Well, what I thought was really cool when she did belt it is I thought there was a really
33:06fun play and something inventive with silhouette.
33:09It's adorable.
33:13We have Terza wearing Laurence.
33:16I love this.
33:17Yeah.
33:17I want it.
33:19Can I take it off your body right now?
33:20Anyone switch?
33:21I love this.
33:23Also, look how slick and well made this is.
33:25Really nice.
33:26She's very talented.
33:27Very talented.
33:28Very talented.
33:28Very talented.
33:31And we have Brit wearing Alex.
33:33I love that.
33:34I mean, this boy can sew.
33:36Wouldn't it have been so much nicer to put a little sparkle somewhere?
33:41Yes.
33:42You know, like in a bodysuit or something that would kind of catch.
33:46It just didn't happen.
33:47Right.
33:48You know, it's good.
33:48It's good.
33:49It works.
33:49It's effective.
33:50It's beautiful, actually.
33:54Paola is wearing Kimber.
33:55Paola, come on out.
33:57Yeah.
33:58Mmm.
33:59I don't like that.
34:00I mean, the hem on this.
34:01It doesn't look so well made.
34:02What happened with that hem?
34:03Why is it so curly and wavy and warped?
34:06And what size are you on top?
34:08Eight.
34:08So imagine a B and C.
34:09That's what I said.
34:10I said a woman with a larger bust, it's going to be hard.
34:16And we have Meandra wearing Linda.
34:18To me, this is the worst.
34:20Yeah.
34:21Yeah, it's pretty high up there.
34:23I have a question.
34:23Is this on purpose?
34:25Shred it?
34:25Actually, I think it is.
34:26Yes.
34:26Yes, it is.
34:27It is.
34:28God awful.
34:30Who wants to wear that?
34:32I know.
34:33Ooh.
34:33Well, she was trying to add a modernity to it and something.
34:37She thought.
34:37She thought, but it's really unfortunate.
34:39This is bad costume.
34:41Strange choices of fabric.
34:44Why would you pick this knit fabric and this color?
34:46That was not the good choice of fabric.
34:48Not the right choice of fabric.
35:00Not the smartest.
35:01The jersey.
35:03Jacquard jersey.
35:04It's just very lackluster.
35:06I mean, the only thing I would say is at least these two pieces look well made.
35:11But I have to say, Heidi, this is the second time we see him.
35:15No, I know.
35:16But when I look at this next to this, to me this is worse.
35:19I agree.
35:19This has absolutely no personality.
35:22This one at least, I could sort of see her personality.
35:25There was risk here at least.
35:26This is like nowhere's land.
35:30Which one today is worse to you?
35:33I think they're equally bad.
35:37Thank you, judges.
35:38Thank you, Tim.
35:40So is it between Laurence and Aaron?
35:44Laurence and Aaron.
35:45Laurence and Aaron.
35:46I love Laurence's look.
35:47I mean, hers looks like a designer jumpsuit.
35:50This made me sing.
35:51I thought it was very special.
35:52I would totally wear it.
35:54She got the versatility.
35:55She got the different body shapes and ages.
35:58It just looks so cool.
36:00But I think Aaron was the only person that we saw that was a transformable piece.
36:05She was a standout color.
36:07With the most memorable piece on the runway today.
36:11Right.
36:12So let's talk about the two worst, Brick and Linda.
36:16To me, Linda is the worst.
36:18Honestly, I really just don't even think there's much to talk about within these two looks.
36:22It's just this cover on Linda's.
36:24I'm not sure what to think about the cover.
36:26Linda.
36:27Burn it.
36:27Looks like someone just made it in an hour.
36:30At least Brick's, sad as it is, at least it looks well made.
36:34I don't know.
36:34It's an armhole and a dart.
36:36Brick designed another civil outfit.
36:38Okay.
36:39So we've made our decision.
36:43Let's bring them back out.
36:52Designers, some of you did an excellent job today.
36:56And as you know, only one of you will be the winner of the Just Fab Challenge.
37:00And to deliver the fabulous news, please welcome back Tracy Inglis.
37:06Hi, everyone.
37:07Hi.
37:08Hi.
37:08We are thrilled that you took this challenge and really created looks that are fab for all.
37:13So it's my pleasure to announce that the winner of today's challenge is Laurence.
37:28Laurence, your look will be reproduced and sold on justfab.com.
37:34I feel fabulous.
37:36I feel just fab.
37:38Thank you so much.
37:40I'm lost for words.
37:41It feels surreal.
37:43Congratulations, Laurence.
37:44Your look was the most fab of them all.
37:46And as you know, you will have immunity for the next challenge and cannot be eliminated.
37:51You can leave the runway.
37:53Thanks.
37:54Seriously, I'm super happy.
37:56And I know you can see it on the outside.
37:57But it's just a confirmation that I made the right move coming into this competition.
38:02Are you the winner?
38:04Well...
38:04You're gonna be selling on Just Clap.
38:13I just need a minute to take it in.
38:14Yeah.
38:15Yeah.
38:15All right.
38:20Aaron, Alex, you're both in.
38:23Congratulations.
38:24He leads the runway.
38:34Kimber.
38:37You're in.
38:38He leads the runway.
38:44Linda.
38:46Brick.
38:47One of you will be out.
38:53Brick.
38:58You're in.
39:00Barely.
39:02You can leave the runway.
39:04Thank you all so much.
39:12Linda, I'm sorry that means you're out.
39:14Thank you very much for the opportunity.
39:16And I will take your criticisms.
39:18I really will.
39:20Auf Wiedersehen.
39:22Thank you very much.
39:23Good luck to you.
39:24You know, it just wasn't enough.
39:26I'm disappointed more in myself that I should have executed it better.
39:30I made a series of decisions that were not the right decisions.
39:37Awww.
39:38Linda.
39:42It's a, it's a, no, no, no.
39:47Thank you guys so much.
39:49Come here.
39:53We're gonna miss you terribly, Linda.
39:55I will miss you guys.
39:56Thank you guys so much.
39:58All right.
39:59So I'm gonna send you to the work room to clean up your space.
40:02Oh my God.
40:02Bye.
40:04I came to Project Runway because I really believe that my second career as a fashion designer.
40:12And I still believe that.
40:13I mean, I'm really disappointed that I'm going home.
40:16But I would not change this experience for anything.
