00:00I am here in Saint Cloud, Minnesota underneath a cloudy sky and that is because an additional
00:06inch of snow is possible here across the region tonight and that is in addition to all that
00:13snow that fell this weekend across Minnesota into Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of
00:18Michigan.
00:19Now my coverage started Saturday night way back by Fargo where snow began to fall there
00:24and I tracked the snow all the way to the Twin Cities region.
00:27Now Saturday night into Sunday morning, heavy snow was falling and gusty winds was blowing
00:33that snow all around causing drifting problems and near impossible driving conditions and that
00:40did prompt the interstates to be shut down.
00:42I-90 westbound out of Albert Lee, Minnesota and I-35 southbound into Iowa were both shut
00:49down because of the terrible driving conditions out there.
00:52Now in the Twin Cities region, especially in the southeastern part of the state, about
00:57a foot of snow fell and more as you moved eastward into Wisconsin and talking to residents here,
01:03they've told me that this is the biggest snowfall event they've had of the season.
01:07Now temperatures are cold right now.
01:09We are below freezing and it is going to stay below freezing tonight but we should see a warming
01:15trend begin tomorrow and warming continue into the weekend.
01:18So folks here in Minnesota can get a little bit of a taste of spring.
01:23Reporting for AccuWeather, I'm Aaron J. Jack.
