00:00And you're near the Mall of America there in Bloomington, Minnesota. So what's going on, Mr. J. Jack?
00:06Yeah, so I was here for this big-time winter storm this weekend in Minneapolis.
00:12Actually, I started off to the west. You mentioned the Canadian Prairie.
00:14I started up in Canada and came through North Dakota.
00:16It was actually not too bad. Very windy up in North Dakota, but no snow up there.
00:20As I came down Saturday night, I came into Fargo and started getting those heavy snow showers in Fargo.
00:25And after I got past Fargo and eastward, we had snow all day yesterday.
00:31And then into the night, we had some snow, and those strong winds came through.
00:35It was blowing drifts around.
00:37So this morning, I took a drive down south because they did have the interstates shut down.
00:42I-35 south of Albert Lee, Minnesota, was shut down.
00:46And then I-90 westbound out of Albert Lee was shut down due to the storm.
00:51And those were shut down until late this morning.
00:54And now, finally, those roads have opened back up.
00:56So things are starting to get back to normal here.
00:58You know, you see the Mall of America back here behind me.
01:00You know, the snow is starting to melt off because we do have those strong, that strong March sun.
01:06So as soon as that sun gets out, stuff's starting to melt here.
01:09The roads are starting to get better.
01:10They were a bit icy this morning, but that sun's helped make things a little bit better.
01:14Of course, it is still below freezing, so I expect tonight, you know, the stuff that's melting,
01:18it's going to freeze back up tonight and cause additional problems tomorrow morning.
01:22Back to you guys.
01:23All right, good stuff there, Aaron.
01:25Pretty amazing.
01:25So, you know, with this storm, what's the one thing that's going to stick with you the most
01:28regarding what you've witnessed with this one so far?
01:33You know, there was a substantial amount of lightning being produced by this storm just
01:37south of here, just south of the Minnesota border down in Iowa.
01:42I watched it, that lightning take off to the, race off to the east.
01:45And then as it continued to go to Green Bay, producing that thundersnow, thundersleet, it
01:50was kind of in that mixed precip area.
01:52So a very large amount of a lightning thundersnow in that storm.
01:57So that was pretty, pretty memorable.
01:59You know, this is a classic, that winter storm, a classic winter storm and late spring, late
02:04winter, early spring.
02:05You know, we're just a week away from spring here.
02:07So it was that clash between the cold sector and the warm sector, winter and spring.
02:11And, you know, it was a very big time storm system.
02:14In fact, I've heard reports that this was their biggest event, snow event here in this
02:18area for the season.
02:19So back to you guys.
02:20All right.
02:21Good stuff, Aaron.
02:21I know for some in Wisconsin, especially the greatest March snow event in several years
02:27as well.
