00:00The largest and most extreme ice and snowstorm that many have seen in recent years is on the way.
00:08This storm is going to impact over 200 million.
00:10It's going to shut down travel, air travel, especially Sunday and Monday with lingering impacts into Wednesday.
00:18Freezing rain, power outages.
00:20How about heavy snow from the plains into the northeast?
00:23And oh, by the way, lots of record cold in the wake of this storm.
00:27We begin with the ice.
00:29That's going to be extensive.
00:30From Texas toward the Carolinas, those dark pink shading showing you where the ice may be the most extensive.
00:36There will be a lot of sleet around Dallas, Charlotte and Raleigh.
00:41And we do think there's enough ice in Atlanta to possibly shut down travel.
00:46We're talking from Memphis toward Dallas Saturday, Saturday night into the Carolinas Saturday night in the Sunday.
00:53And of course, power is going to be a huge concern.
00:56You can see the dark red area showing you where we think there's going to be widespread power outages.
01:02There's at least going to be localized and regional power outages across a large chunk of the southern United States and into the mid-Atlantic.
01:11And look at the cold as we get in the Sunday where many may be without power.
01:17That freezing line goes all the way down in the Louisiana and parts of the southeast.
01:22Then we have the snow, heaviest snow for lots of locations that we've seen in quite some time.
01:29Look at the large area of 6 to 12 inches with that middle blue.
01:34Then we have the dark blue.
01:35You can see that across south-central Pennsylvania into New England.
01:39Within that dark blue area, over a foot of snow.

01:48We talked about the travel being a problem with the airports.
01:53Here with this heavy snow, lots of problems on the roadways.
