00:00Today I'm offering you a simple and economical homemade gratin.
00:04A hard-boiled egg and spinach gratin.
00:07This is a perfect recipe for easy batch cooking
00:09and to cook with what we already have in the freezer and cupboards.
00:13And above all, it's a dish that makes everyone love spinach.
00:18I start by taking out the frozen spinach.
00:20I put them in a pan with a very small amount of water.
00:23so that they defrost gently without sticking.
00:27While they're heating up gently, I'll prepare the sauce.
00:30In a saucepan, I sauté a chopped onion
00:33in a tablespoon of olive oil.
00:36When the onion is nicely browned, I add a carton of tomato paste.
00:46and herbs from Provence.
01:03I grate 3 cloves of garlic.
01:06Here, I use lacto-fermented garlic,
01:09but fresh or powdered garlic works very well.
01:21I then add a small carton of fresh cream
01:23and I let it simmer for 5 minutes.
01:31To thicken the sauce, I take a teaspoon of cornstarch.
01:35But you can also use cornflour.
01:41I mix it with a little cold water.
01:42to obtain a very smooth liquid.
01:54This is a perfect dish for batch cooking.
01:57for two meals or even to take to work.
01:59And this proves that simple ingredients
02:02can also make a delicious dish.
02:13Then I pour in the sauce, mixing well to avoid lumps.
02:33As soon as the sauce thickens, I turn off the heat.
02:42In an ovenproof dish,
02:43I start by putting down the spinach.
02:45which I mix with a little sauce.
02:54I then place the hard-boiled eggs on top.
02:57and I pour the rest of the sauce
03:06and I cover it with grated cheese.
03:08I put it in the oven just long enough to brown the cheese.
03:11because all the ingredients are already cooked.
03:14You get a creamy gratin,
03:15tasty and really very simple to make.
