A late-night argument between a customer and a delivery executive in Bengaluru reportedly turned violent, leaving the customer with a fractured nose. The incident occurred around 2 am on March 7 at an apartment complex in Koramangala.
According to police, the victim, Paul J. Vithayathil, had placed an order through the quick-commerce platform Blinkit and was waiting at his flat for the delivery.
Investigators said the delivery executive allegedly went to the wrong location inside the building while trying to complete the order. When Paul contacted him and asked him to come to the correct floor, an argument reportedly broke out.
Police identified the accused as Tanush, a delivery worker from Ejipura. Authorities said he later reached the customer’s residence, where the dispute escalated.
During the confrontation, the delivery executive allegedly punched the customer in the face, threw the ordered items and fled the spot.
The injured customer sought medical treatment, where doctors conducted examinations including an X-ray of the nasal bones. The reports confirmed a fracture in his nose.
Due to the severity of the injury, Paul later travelled to Kerala to undergo surgery.
Based on the complaint and medical findings, police first registered a Non-Cognizable Report (NCR) and later converted it into an FIR. The accused delivery executive was subsequently tracked down and arrested.
Police have contacted Blinkit for details related to the delivery worker, and further investigation into the circumstances leading to the altercation is underway.
