The cycling stars of today and tomorrow will head to the southland this weekend, for the Luces Brothers Cycling Classic Memorial. It's the 13th edition of the competition and this time it will act as a qualifier for the Easter Grand Prix. Organizers of the event say it's bound to be a feast of entertainment for the fans.

00:00Cycling in the South is back. The Luce's Brothers Memorial Cycling Classic promises to be bigger
00:06and better when the race begins on March 20th at the Ian Attlee Cycling Track Skinner Park San Fernando.
00:12The objective of hosting the Luce's Brothers Memorial Classic is not only to celebrate the
00:21memory or the life of Noel and Kent but it's also to promote youth development and to have some
00:30community engagement within the Southern Committees as a means of trying to revive cycling and having
00:37some good fun family activity in the San Fernando area. This time around the event will be used as
00:43a qualification meet for the Easter Grand Prix. To be more specific, Trinidad and Tobago Cycling
01:06Federation President Rowena Williams indicated it's a qualifier for national cyclists to earn
01:12selection on the national team for the Easter Grand Prix. It is expected to be a partnership
01:17event which may be a permanent fixture moving forward. Based on the timing it is very close to
01:24Easter because it's around this time Noel Pass we always try to commemorate his um his event around
01:31this time so it falls right in line just before the Easter International Grand Prix so it's something
01:38that we look forward to and we work closely with the Trinidad and Tobago Cycling Federation so is as a
01:44partnership and they asked if they could use our event as a qualifier. The event which is hosted by
01:49Rig Tech Sonic Cycling Club will feature some of the top cyclists which would have participated in the
01:55recently concluded elite cycling championships in Chile where TNT won six medals. Try not to be biased we have a

02:03team for Mr. Polido he's very good in the 500 very strong just came back from my games in Chile

02:12Panam championships and um he brought back him at my family and he was one of the leading guys out

02:20during the first lap and he's very good at the 500 as well. Cyclist Zion Polido will have his hands

02:27Jadion Neves, Liam Trepte, yeah, Akeel Campbell, Terry Woods, they um that was the team that made up the
02:37team pursuit at the recent Panam championships and in as the sprinters we'll have people like Sindel Samaru
02:47Daniel James. Some 39 events will be on the cards the last event will feature a 13 lap race around

02:54Skinner Park track. For an event that's been running since 2013 Fronten indicated that they are filled
03:00with pride as they continue to honor the legacy of Noel and Kent Lucis who would have been happy to

03:06development continue in the sport. For fans the event cost $60 for adults and $20 for children under 12.
