00:00With the TNT great race taking place in two weeks, the boat show and parade was held on
00:05the Emancipation Day holiday along Arepita Avenue and Adamsmith Square in Port of Spain.
00:10Many vessels were on display ahead of this country's most prestigious powerboat race
00:14which starts from the foreshore and ends in store B. And making the boat show more entertaining
00:20was the presence of fans which obviously brings more life to any sporting event.
00:25Xtreme measures races in the 70 mile class and the owner Jonathan Tardier was delighted to be a part of
00:31the occasion on the avenue.
00:33I mean the boat show is an integral part of the great race and as always we enjoy it, we
00:39enjoy the parade part of it,
00:40bringing the boat down to meet with the people personally, let them come across and let them know that at
00:46the end of the day
00:46you know we all regularly remember it just like the rest of them and interact, let them see the boat,
00:52see what's inside and stuff and as usually vibes, vibes is always great.
00:56The boat tyrant races in the 95 mile class with Gordon Dadleish being one of the part owners.
01:02And how fired up was he ahead of race day?
01:05We are 100% confident. Last year we had a bit of a failure which led us to rebuild two
01:11engines.
01:12Right now one is not in the boat, one is still being worked on and we're meticulously putting it together.
01:17All the engines are going to be fresh and everything is going to be run through and we're ready for
01:22them.
01:22Also competing at the great race is Outlaw in the 80 mile class with driver Robert Lobo and throttleman Justin
01:29Wattman.
01:30And Lobo was quite optimistic going into the race.
01:33Right now we kind of broke down the boat last year and basically built it from the ground back up.
01:40So with everything being everything I think we are we are fairly in a very good position going into the
01:49race.
01:50Once everything goes together we are very confident with the boat this year.
01:55We only acquired it with my truckman Justin. We acquired it last year.
02:00The great race is on August 15th with the starting time being 7.15 a.m.
