We are officially in the peak of road running in T&T with as much as six events spread across two days to choose from this past weekend.

There were three on Saturday and another three on Sunday featuring elite and fun runners.

00:00Alex Ikisa and Nicolas Romani met again in the Sugar Rush 5K. Romani this time
00:05would enjoy the sweeter hand with a time of 15 minutes 37 seconds, 9 seconds
00:10ahead of Ikisa. Note that 16-year-old Isaiah Alda came third in 16 minutes 50
00:15seconds. For the women, Annika Bailey took the top spot in 20 minutes 14
00:20seconds ahead of Cougars Naila Kerr 20 minutes 41 seconds and April Francis 21
00:26minutes 32 seconds. Francis ran two races on the day. She won the CIBC 5K
00:32for women which started at 4 p.m. on Saturday before running over to the
00:36Sugar Rush 5K which started at 4.30 p.m. Tafari Waldron did as expected and won
00:43the CIBC 5K in a time of 14 minutes 49 seconds. He's inching closer to his track
00:48record on the road. Colin Pereira took second spot in 15 minutes 57 seconds
00:54followed by David Schweitzer in 16 minutes 12 seconds. Schweitzer then
00:59returned on Sunday morning to clinch the QRC Blue Chancellor 2.2 mile run in a
01:05speedy time of 12 minutes 52 seconds. Wannawicks Omari Thompson took second
01:10spot in 13 minutes 4 seconds and Isaiah Alda returned as well to seal third
01:15spot in 13 minutes 57 seconds. Bailey carried her legs to another win in 16
01:21minutes and 5 seconds. Kaylee Ford 7 seconds behind her and Leah De Freitas
01:26also completing the course in under 20 minutes. Over to Santa Rosa Park for the
01:32hardest mile. It was difficult to tell who would win and their winning time on
01:36this surface as seen in this amateur footage.
01:42On soggy sand a quality field has sunk their feet into this novelty race
01:51put on by the Trinidad and Tobago Masters Association in conjunction with
01:56the Arima Race Club and the winner turned out to be 24-year-old Keron Ali
02:01who galloped to victory in 5 minutes 22 seconds ahead of the 6 foot 5 inches
02:07tall runner Philip James of 5 minutes 24 seconds and defense force runner
