00:06The weekend is a bit of a messy mixture.
00:08There'll be some cloud, some rain, but also some sunshine.
00:11We've got stripes of weather really out to the west of the UK.
00:15Weather systems gathering but pushing up towards Iceland.
00:19A nose of high pressure bringing some sunshine today.
00:23And a week-old weather front providing some rain and some snow overnight
00:28across parts of northeast England.
00:30That is fizzling out and will continue to dry out across northern England.
00:34But at the same time, we will see some outbreaks of shallery rain coming into southeast England,
00:38perhaps pushing into parts of East Anglia and across into Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
00:43So turning a bit damp in the southeast, turning drier in the northeast of England.
00:47A lot of cloud for England and Wales.
00:48But compared to yesterday, much brighter for western Scotland and northern Ireland.
00:53Beautiful day here with some sunshine.
00:54It is a little bit breezy in the far north.
00:57Temperatures in the sunshine, 8, 9, maybe 10 degrees Celsius.
01:00We're only looking at 7, 8 or 9 degrees in this cloudier zone over northern England.
01:05Some places here were into the teens yesterday.
01:08So that's quite a big drop.
01:09It feels quite a lot colder than yesterday over a good part of England and Wales.
01:14In the southeast, we might still squeak into the teens, particularly for Kent.
01:18But elsewhere, there will still be these outbreaks of rain,
01:20making for a damp evening rush hour across East Anglia and the home counties.
01:24That too should fizzle out as we go through the night.
01:27So many places becoming dry.
01:29We'll keep a lot of cloud across the south.
01:31That will keep the temperatures up.
01:32But for north Wales, northern England, southern and eastern Scotland, we will see clearer skies.
01:38And that will lead to a frost.
01:40Towns and cities dipping down close to freezing rural spots a few degrees below.
01:44Perhaps not quite as cold in the far northwest where there'll be more breeze and a bit more cloud sticking
01:49around.
01:49The cloudy skies, though, on Saturday, likely again to be across the south.
01:54We are going to see some outbreaks of rain.
01:56A bit of uncertainty about how persistent the rain is.
01:59But we are likely to see some across the Midlands, South Wales and southwest England.
02:03So it could be a bit of a dull and a damp Saturday here.
02:05But as I said, a bit of a question mark about that.
02:08May see some brighter skies at times in the southeast.
02:10But much of the Midlands, southwards will be overcast.
02:14A bit brighter for north Wales and northern England on Saturday.
02:16We'll see some good spells of sunshine and another fine day by and large for Scotland and northern Ireland.
02:22But still quite breezy in the far northwest with a weather front just threatening some rain at times in the
02:27western Isles.
02:28With a bit more sunshine, it'll probably feel a bit warmer tomorrow over northern England and north Wales.
02:32Nine or ten degrees likely here.
02:34We could still again get up to 11 or 12 in the southeast.
02:37But in this duller zone, that's not going to feel very pleasant.
02:41But we could get up to 11 degrees, say, in southern Scotland and northern Ireland in the sunshine.
02:45So quite a bit of sunshine on here through Saturday.
02:47Again, well, we've got the clear skies on Saturday night.
02:50Temperatures will be falling.
02:51But the cloud is just pushing back further north at this stage.
02:55That weak weather front just ageing its way during Saturday night and Sunday back into southern Scotland.
03:02And we've still got this weather front wiggling its way around close to the western Isles.
03:06So that could bring some outbreaks of rain here on Sunday.
03:09A grey day again for much of England and Wales.
03:12But certainly for northern England, north Wales and southern Scotland, much more cloud on Sunday compared to Saturday.
03:17And there will again be some outbreaks of rain in here.
03:20But a bit of uncertainty about the persistence and how heavy that rain is going to be.
03:25The southeast and east Anglia may brighten up a little bit on Sunday.
03:28So something a bit brighter here.
03:30Could see some blue sky.
03:31And if we do, temperatures will really jump up and respond again getting into the teens.
03:35Most places 10 or 11 Celsius.
03:37So it is a bit of a messy one this weekend.
