00:00We do this every Monday, Weekend's Best, Weekend's Worst.
00:03It doesn't have to be relegated to sports, but whatever it is for you,
00:08Weekend's Best, what was your Weekend's Best, Weekend's Worst, send them in.
00:12We'll read some of the ones, especially the ones inappropriate.
00:15We'll read those on the air.
00:18We like a little nasty here on the drive, so that's all right.
00:21I'll kick it off, Clint.
00:22My Weekend's Best, you know, it's tough because the best player in the world
00:29and the NBA and in basketball is, you know, not really a, you know,
00:36an interesting guy, not somebody who is, you know, out in front.
00:40You know, he just plays ball and chills out, and that's the Joker, Nicola Jokic.
00:47But, boy, he had him a moment on Friday night, and this is going to be a meme.
00:52Have you seen this, Tyler?
00:54Yes, the stare down.
00:55Oh, my God.
00:56God, that dude is nuts.
01:00Like, he looks – everybody talks about him and his brothers a little crazy,
01:03and they might whoop some ass.
01:04Like, that stare down he gave to Lou Dort, who tripped him,
01:09in which he said later after the game felt like it was an unnecessary play.
01:13He got a hold – I think somebody – the old Arkansas boy.
01:16The old Arkansas boy.
01:18Williams, the other Jalen Williams.
01:19He came over and got – and then, I don't know what Jokic did.
01:23Jokic had a maniacal, psychotic look on his face.
01:27Holy smokes!
01:28That it was – that he just held it there.
01:30Like, looks like what one of the people that are on Dateline is about to do right before they kill
01:36the person.
01:37That's the look that he had on his face.
01:40When they catch a killer on camera?
01:41When they catch it right before – I mean, but that was the best.
01:44I was like, damn, that boy is nuts.
01:48Well, I wonder if they got over to that bench and said, boy, man, he looked like he might –
01:52like, I'm talking to the OKC bench.
01:53Yeah.
01:54They look like he might – he's going to lose his mind.
01:55Yeah, it was – he was awfully comfortable, it seemed, in that moment to just –
01:59Did he?
01:59Yeah.
02:00I mean, that was – I'm with you.
02:02I think he actually had a hold of Williams when he did it.
02:05That's what, like, kind of took me aback because Williams did – I mean, he's not –
02:08I don't remember him in Arkansas or anywhere being a real confrontational guy.
02:11You run up there and grab that big fella and you look that dead nigh.
02:14I feel like that moment makes a lot of people think twice.
02:21Hell yeah, it does.
02:22And not to – also to know his brothers are nuts and they're like the Gronkowski brothers.
02:27Yeah, you got two seven-footers in his stands that are ready to go.
02:30Like, I remember when – two other crazy twins, the Morris brothers, when they tried to try him
02:37and those brothers were in the stands and they were ready to –
02:40they were apparently going to try to meet up somewhere and square off.
02:43I don't know about that one from Marquis on that one.
02:46That may be – I know they took on the Kansas football team one time in the courtyard,
02:49but I don't know if this is the same thing.
02:52Have you heard that story?
02:53No, I've not.
02:54Them two go back-to-back?
02:55Uh-uh.
02:56They stood up and they go back-to-back and like 20 other football players, they all fighting in the
03:02courtyard.
03:02Good God.
03:03Beaumont, he said, hold up, what was her name?
03:07Well, exactly.
03:09No question.
03:10He said, I can't remember, but I think she ran track.
03:14No doubt.
03:15That's my best of the week.
03:16That's great.
03:16What's your best of the week?
03:18Best of the week.
03:19Them Arkansas boys at the Combine.
03:21Look, I've got to be real careful calling them Arkansas boys because they were transfers and short-term players.
03:27I don't know if anything – I don't know if there are real college players from the standpoint of committing
03:31to a school anymore.
03:32But two fellas that wore that damn razorback on their helmet the last time you saw them play, they absolutely
03:39showed out at the Combine.
03:40Quarterback Taylin Green went 4-3-7 into 40.
03:4343-and-a-half-inch vertical.
03:4511-2 broad jump.
03:46A couple, I think, were records for quarterbacks, but look, there are some severe flaws in his mechanics.
03:54I've watched it for two years, throwing the football.
03:56I don't know if he can play the quarterback position with those flaws mechanically, but I look up, Ron, and
04:03I see – what's my man's name that quarterbacked at –
04:07he quarterbacked at Arkansas the last year, but he quarterbacked at Florida, Felipe Franks?
04:12No.
04:12I look up, and Felipe Franks is out there playing for the Falcons still, doing different things, playing receiver, playing
04:18special teams.
04:19But, I mean, Taylin Green, who, by the way, if you – I've always thought this stylistically.
04:23Now, I didn't know he was going to run that well, but stylistically, he looks just like Matt Jones, the
04:28quarterback that was a quarterback.
04:30No, Arkansas.
04:31Or not Kentucky, Arkansas.
04:32He was – I mean, he was a quarterback and then got drafted number 23 overall in the first round.
04:37He flamed out in the league, obviously, because it was a terrible idea to draft somebody that – but you
04:41talk about a quarterback that's 6'6", that can go 4'3".
04:45They're somewhere in the league for Taylin Green.
04:48But then Mike Washington, Jr., running back, was at Utah, and he ended up at Arkansas.
04:55Big joker.
04:56Big back.
04:574'3", in the 40-yard dash.
04:5939-inch vertical.
05:0010-8 broad.
05:01He was the highest rated, some rating that they put together, 92 was his score, the highest scoring running back
05:07at the draft.
05:08Well, there were some pretty good running backs out there, I think, competing.
05:10A lot of folks were asking me about Mike Washington at – would he be a fit here in Houston?
05:18I know he would have been what I think they like here in Houston, a bigger downhill back that'll lean
05:24on you, kind of a one-cut back.
05:27Yeah.
05:28What round are they talking about for him?
05:30Man, I don't know.
05:31I have no idea.
05:32I saw some stuff we could possibly get into the second round, maybe.
05:35I mean, he's a big joker.
05:37Well, up there, yeah.
05:37I mean, he's a big dude.
05:38I want to say he's 6'2", 6'3".
05:43He's special.
05:45But I think he's going to be a better fit in one of them zone schemes where they're just –
05:50he is a true –
05:51when you talk about Petrino's offense, you know, he's a track runner, not track as in the sport, track as
05:58in the train track, right?
05:59I mean, they want you to, you know, stay on that path, that exact track until you got one cut,
06:06one direction or the other, in some of that wide and outside zone scheme.
06:10I think he'll be ideal for that in the league.
06:13I think he'll be fine either way, but I think he'll be ideal for that in the league.
06:17Y'all know I love Arkansas.
06:20He's probably not going to be here given the David Montgomery move, but –
06:25They still may draft one.
06:26Yeah, I mean, he's a big – he's a horse now.
06:28He's exactly what they would like in terms of how they play.
06:30Maybe not round two or three, but they'll probably still draft one.
06:33All right, someone on the text line weekend's best.
06:35My girlfriend winning an all-star cheerleading national championship.
06:39Well, congratulations to your girlfriend.
06:42Oh, wow.
06:45Congrats.
06:46Yeah, I'll stay there.
06:47I'll stay there.
06:48Yeah, that's good.
06:49Yep.
06:49I hope you guys had a great time afterwards to celebrate.
06:54That's a cheerleader.
06:56Hey.
06:56The contortion.
06:56Yep, you're right.
06:57Easy.
06:58I'll stay right there.
06:58All right, my weekend's worst.
07:02I had a – I had to have a come-to-Jesus meeting with my youngest son,
07:07Nicholas, before his baseball game.
07:10I don't know where he gets this from.
07:14I would consider myself a humble guy.
07:18But I heard him at his last practice running around saying,
07:23I'm the best player on the team.
07:25I'm the best player on the team.
07:27That's in front of his teammates.
07:29Then he – we were in the dugout getting ready for the first game.
07:34He was doing it again.
07:36And I had to help him with his cleats.
07:38And I had to bring him in.
07:40I said, hey, man, stop doing that.
07:42First off, you're not.
07:43I said, you're a good player, but you ain't that good.
07:46Right.
07:47Just calm down a little bit.
07:48And I said, and you don't know, baseball, this game is a way of humbling the best.
07:54All right?
07:54So calm down, man.
07:55Chill out and stop doing that in front of your teammates.
07:57It's rude.
07:59He then proceeded to lead off with a triple.
08:04Hit a single and then hit a three-run homer in the last inning.
08:09Caught a foul pop-up.
08:10He's six.
08:11Caught a foul pop-up.
08:13And caught it right, too.
08:14Didn't just – didn't underhand it.
08:16Went up and caught it right.
08:17And then ran a kid down and tagged him at home plate as the cutoff man.
08:22And so that whole come to Jesus, keep yourself humble thing just, I believe, went for not.
08:28Well, he tested it real quick.
08:29Did he go back to it?
08:31Yeah, man, you can't tell – couldn't tell him nothing.
08:34Couldn't tell him nothing.
08:35I promise you, and I know this may sound mean to some people, but I think some parents – maybe
08:41you're not there yet, Clint.
08:42Some of you all may know when you get a little cocky little son of a gun like that, I
08:47was hoping for a couple of strikeouts.
08:51I wanted him to learn that a little bit.
08:53I wanted him to get back – I wanted him to strike out a couple of times.
08:59Yeah, I don't –
09:00And he hit that ball opposite field, and it rolled all the way.
09:02I mean, I think –
09:04That was not an overthrow home run.
09:08He was rounding third when they picked the ball up in the outfield.
09:10Right.
09:11Well, for what it's worth, I'll give you my two cents.
09:15I think what you do is, son, if you really are the best player on a team, you don't need
09:22to tell people about it.
09:22They know.
09:23All right?
09:24And then after he goes out –
09:26Because I think Jordan is.
09:27I think Jordan is slightly better.
09:29Well, then he goes out there and plays like he does, and then you say, see, son, that's what I'm
09:33talking about.
09:33Now, shut the hell up and keep playing ball just like that right there.
09:36I wanted to go pit.
09:38It was coach's pit.
09:39So you could strike him out?
09:40Yes.
09:42I wanted to.
09:43Oh, man.
09:44I wanted to, man.
09:45I said, this just went to hell in a half.
09:47I asked him, man.
09:48What the hell is he listening to?
09:49I said, nothing.
09:50Okay, Dad.
09:51Yeah, sure.
09:51Got it.
09:52Got it, Dad.
09:52Watch this.
09:53All right.
09:54Hey, what's your weekend?
09:55What if he came to come bang his dad?
09:57What'd you say, Dad?
09:58Told you.
10:00My weekend's worst.
10:01My weekend's worst is the NRG parking attendant that wouldn't let me walk through the yellow lot.
10:07Me and the wife went to the cookout Friday night,
10:12and we parked directly.
10:14Couldn't have center punched the yellow lot.
10:16The yellow lot was the only thing between us and the front door of the cookoff.
10:20And we were just going to walk.
10:22You know, they got areas that are roped off for pedestrians.
10:25Hell, we walked out, walked right through it.
10:27I get all the way.
10:28I asked one guy.
10:29He's like, man, ain't nobody going to stop you, man.
10:30Go on through there.
10:30You ain't supposed to be going through there.
10:32I get all the way to the gate, and the dude's like, steps out square in front of me and
10:36the wife.
10:37Hey, no, can't let you walk through here.
10:38I mean, take him his job real soon.
10:40And I know you.
10:40No, can't let you.
10:41Meanwhile, there's 42 parking attendants standing in the road, by the way.
10:45I know you went back and forth with him.
10:46No, I didn't.
10:47I just kind of looked at him like, man, are you serious?
10:49And he said, yeah, man, you got to go.
10:51I mean, he was a real prick.
10:52Rules are rules, man.
10:53I mean, I feel, but he was a real prick.
10:55And I felt like, the bad thing about it was, I felt like he was showing out for his buddies.
10:59You know what I mean?
10:59Like, I felt like it was one of those, like, let me get this one.
11:01I'm going to get this one.
11:02And so, he was a real prick.
11:03And then, when we turned to walk off, some lady down, about two little, two kiosks down from him,
11:11said, hey, hey, y'all, look, if you go this other direction, it's a lot shorter.
11:15And so, she pointed us the right direction.
11:16But that prick wouldn't even want to.
11:18So, he definitely gets my weekends worse.
11:21And then, the second thing, weekends worse, I'm tired of looking at that Iams commercial
11:25with that big boxer that they freeze frame in the crap position.
11:31I've seen it four times in here this morning.
11:33I mean, it's the dog food, Iams.
11:35It's the dog food.
11:36And it's just the dog walking around out there in the middle of the field,
11:39and all of a sudden, he hunkers it.
11:40But he doesn't actually take the dog.
11:41No.
11:41But he's sitting, he's in dump position.
11:42Yeah, he's in, he is hunkered.
11:44I mean, he is hunkered up now, and they freeze frame it.
11:47And it's a, it's a, help your dog have nice, comfortable craps.
11:51But, I mean, come on, man.
11:52I mean, like, I've seen it three or four times today.
11:56It's the position of, if you see me, myself, and Irene Tyler,
12:00that that dog is just squatted in.
12:02Oh, yeah.
12:03It takes a dump on.
12:03Well, I feel like, of all dogs, I feel like,
12:05I feel like boxers are the, the, the hunchingest of hunching.
12:09You know what I mean?
12:09Like, like, they get, they get, I mean, bowed the freak up, man.
12:13And they look at y'all crazy with that.
12:15I mean, so it just.
12:17I thought for sure turds were coming out of it.
12:19No question.
12:20No question, man.
