00:00So we do this each and every Monday, a little weekend's best, weekend's worst.
00:05And I'm going to kick mine off.
00:08I'm going to kick this thing off with my weekend's best.
00:12And listen, this one's a little tougher here, Clinton Tyler, because not all of it is the best.
00:18But the spirit of it, to me, is the best.
00:22Pete Crow Armstrong, one of the stars for the Chicago Cubs, played center field for them,
00:28played center field for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic, really had a breakout season last year,
00:36was one of the top players in the National League.
00:39He was playing the White Sox in Chicago, and they were on the road.
00:44And the White Sox, you know, man, they try to get money anywhere they can.
00:47They got those little outfield, behind-the-fence suites now where you can watch the game from that angle.
00:56In the suites, they got the chain link.
00:58Field-level suites, baby.
00:59Yeah, man, field-level suites.
01:01And they're in there drinking, and they're having a good-ass time.
01:03Oh, yeah.
01:03That sounds like fun.
01:04Be honest, when you're down there in them suites, most of them, you can't see much of the action anyway,
01:07so all you do is just drink.
01:08Drink.
01:09I sat in one of the Cowboys game one time, and it was the worst ever.
01:12Really?
01:13Oh, it was awful.
01:13You probably just limited what you could see.
01:15You were eye-level with everybody's hamstrings that's on the sideline.
01:18And they don't even know you're back there.
01:19But go ahead.
01:20But.
01:22Some plays, though, you get up and close, right?
01:24There was a play at the wall, and Pete went to go to try to make a big catch and
01:30just missed it.
01:31And the right fielder came over and threw it in.
01:35But Pete was sitting there, and you could see, was sitting there in frustration.
01:39And there was a young lady.
01:41She came from distance, running over.
01:45She's got a drink in hand.
01:46And she is just giving him the thumbs-down signal and just telling him,
01:52You effing suck, Pete!
01:54You effing suck, Pete!
01:56You effing suck!
01:58She's driving me.
01:58She is giving it to him.
01:59And Pete is sitting down there facing her.
02:01And there's a guy that's down there.
02:03And they're close.
02:04A guy, I don't know if he's with her, but he's trying to stop her a little bit.
02:08Now, I don't condone what Pete said.
02:11Maybe Pete probably went too far with what he said, Clint Tyler.
02:16But my man Pete turned to her, and he said,
02:20Shut the F up!
02:23Suck my effing!
02:29That was his response.
02:30Now, I think Pete's going to get a hefty fine.
02:34I think Rob's going to fine him, and he should get fined.
02:38See, we'll see.
02:39And in reality, just for the record, he should not get fined.
02:43What they should do is fine that gal and not let her back in that stadium.
02:46Yeah, but also fine him for telling that young lady to do that as a player right there.
02:54You can't do that.
02:55But the spirit of it is, I love the fact that a player just came back and went right back
03:02with her.
03:02I do.
03:04I think fans, I've been guilty of it.
03:07Fans roll in here and just say whatever the hell they want to say to these cats.
03:10Fans, and they're thought to, hey, just don't respond, just ignore it.
03:14No, they're humans.
03:16And you caught him in that time, and then maybe he shouldn't have told you to do what you need
03:21to do.
03:23But I really appreciate him going back at her and she experiencing what humans actually have.
03:31When you go out and say something crazy like that to somebody, somebody's going to respond to you.
03:35They ain't going to just stand there and act like you're not saying anything.
03:37Well, you damn sure risk it.
03:38And I enjoy it.
03:39I do, too.
03:40I enjoy it the hell out of it.
03:42I think he's okay with what he says.
03:44I know you do.
03:44But maybe he could go in a different direction there.
03:49But no, I appreciate it.
03:50There was no verbal abuse there.
03:51There was no physical abuse there.
03:53No, she is not a victim.
03:55Just told her it's one way to shut her up.
03:58It did not, but she continued to go.
04:00I'm saying it would be.
04:01It may be.
04:01Literally, it would have been.
04:02I know it would be.
04:04All right, your week hits best.
04:06Aaron Rye.
04:08PGA Tour, man.
04:09The PGA Championship was this weekend.
04:15Not only did he win the tournament, obviously, and win the, what would I say it was, three
04:19plus million dollars, I think.
04:21Oh, the PGA, yeah.
04:22Something big.
04:23It's a big, big money deal.
04:25And he got all the exemptions that came along with it, obviously, for the next five years,
04:30I believe, but he goes out there, and I think it was on 17, but he sinks a 46-foot
04:37putt to
04:38really put the rest of the field to sleep, and they gave him a big enough lead going to
04:4318, and it was all over, but the crime for the most part.
04:48But even more so, Ron, I don't know if you saw this story.
04:50You know, he's catching a lot of hell because he's a two-glove guy.
04:53Two things that are kind of frowned upon at that level of golf is two gloves and individual
04:59iron head covers, right?
05:01And he does both of them.
05:03And I'll be honest with you, I'm one guy that I don't really care about the two gloves.
05:10I didn't really want to beat him up about that, but the iron head, the individual iron
05:14head covers, I'll be honest, I looked at it and was like, what's he doing, man?
05:16What are we doing here, right?
05:18But then, being the open-minded man that I am, Ron, I let him explain it.
05:26And then I got some new evidence, and I'm going to be honest with you, I get down with
05:31it.
05:31I like it.
05:32I'm a bigger fan because of it.
05:33The gloves, he's from England.
05:35He's from England.
05:36Weather's cold over there a lot, so he grew up having to wear two gloves.
05:39It was so cold, he got accustomed to wearing two gloves, so he wears two gloves.
05:43And it's a little bit of a, what do you call it, a little bit of an ode to his
05:51history and
05:51his upbringing and how he played over there, so he just plays with two gloves.
05:56The iron head covers, right?
05:59His dad, his dad ultimately wasn't very well off, but spent a lot of money and worked long
06:04hours to provide for Aaron Rye's golf equipment.
06:09Right?
06:10So he paid a lot of money for these clubs, so he cleaned his kids, his son's club every
06:13night, like cleaned them, took a lot of pride in them, and put the individual head covers
06:17on there.
06:17And so, again, as a little bit of an ode to the way his pops took care of him and
06:22his
06:22pops believed it should have been done, he still today uses those individual iron head
06:28covers.
06:29That's why he uses them.
06:30That's why he does it.
06:32So, at first, I was like, yeah, I'll be honest with you, I'll probably judge you on both of
06:35them.
06:36The club head, the iron head covers more so than the gloves, but both of them, I would
06:40have judged you.
06:41When I heard him talking about it, I was like, that's slick.
06:43That's good.
06:43Well done.
06:44So, not only the win, not only the long putt to win in dramatic fashion, but also the taking
06:51a bunch of heat from the golf community and everybody on social media, and then going
06:57ahead and just the transparency of explaining why you do what you do, and coming out on the
07:01flip side of it, and what I believe is beautiful.
07:07All right, my weekend's worst, the Ronda Rousey fight.
07:14You too?
07:14I don't know what I mean.
07:16People kind of pulled in and hadn't seen her fight in a minute.
07:19She hadn't been in a fight since 2016.
07:23Her opponent, Hill, hadn't been in one since 2009.
07:28I mean, there might have been some kids, some people who work here in high school in 2009.
07:34But, this thing was the main event, it was on Netflix, I'm going to flip it on, it was
07:40the main event, and they went 17 seconds.
07:45And it wasn't even like a Mike Tyson knock somebody's move out, where you're like, damn!
07:52Like, all right, that's a 17 seconds.
07:54Nah, man, she rushed her, got a couple of shots, went down, broke her little submission
08:01attempt, and then put her in the arm bar, all in 17 seconds.
08:04And that lady tapped out so quickly, it was just over.
08:08And it was just like, I'm with you.
08:11I'm with you, Ron.
08:12I was, I was, Ronda, the name drew me.
08:16I was like, yeah, I'm interested.
08:17I can get, I can watch.
08:19And it was, it was not good.
08:21And, and Ronda afterwards said, I didn't want to hurt her.
08:25And that's exactly what it looked like.
08:26She took her down, threw a couple of wild punches at her, and boom, boom, boom, she's in that
08:32arm bar, and it's over.
08:33And old gal's tapping out.
08:35Yeah, no, at least old girl afterwards said, I wanted to fight, I wanted to actually feel
08:39it, I wanted to, I wanted to punch, I wanted to, I wanted to fight, and I didn't get to.
08:42Ronda was like, I'm glad I didn't have to hurt her.
08:45I was like, man, boy, y'all duked my ass.
08:46I was in, Ronda Rousey, I've been thinking about it for a week, I was like, and I thought,
08:50and I saw it on social, I was like, hey, let me kick over there, I found it right in
08:53time, nine minutes, countdown.
08:55I said, hell yeah, let's ride.
08:56I watched some of the other fights before it, boy, it was just.
08:59Come on, man.
08:59I mean, you couldn't even sit down and get comfortable before that thing.
09:01Come on, man.
09:02It was like, it wasn't even thrilling.
09:04It was just like.
09:05Well, it was just one of those.
09:06It looked like they came together almost.
09:08Bingo.
09:08Yes.
09:09Yes.
09:10Yes.
09:11I mean, old girl tried to save it with, I wanted to fight, I wanted to get hit, I wanted
09:14to punch.
09:15Check it, Ronda, there was no, I didn't want to hurt her.
09:17Well, damn, what'd y'all do, talk about it before the fight?
09:19I mean, it got, it was quick.
09:21All right, what's your week, Ed's worst?
09:22It's easy.
09:23I can't, I'm sorry.
09:24I know we like to usually kind of get away from the big, big, big three around here.
09:28Hey, Joe ain't escaping this one, man.
09:29I sat my ass on that couch Sunday afternoon, wanted to watch them Astros, see if, hey, man,
09:35you want to?
09:36Can you sweep the Rangers?
09:38Can we start digging up out of this hole, right?
09:43And I sit down, no Altuve, find out pretty quickly it was an injury, no Paredes, no Paredes
09:49in the lineup.
09:50You mean to tell me, Christian Walker, you've dug the hole that you're in.
09:54You yourself has mentioned how many times it's important to play consistent ball and do this
09:59and do that and dig out this.
10:01Christian Walker is literally the only non-outfielder that was on the field opening day that's healthy
10:10right now.
10:12And you pick that day to be the guy that, the day that Paredes don't play?
10:19You got no Pena.
10:20You got no Correa.
10:22You got no Altuve.
10:24You got no Diaz.
10:25You got no Hunter Brown on the bump.
10:27You got no Jake Myers in center field.
10:29And you decided that's the day.
10:32You got a chance to sweep the Rangers and keep this momentum rolling.
10:37Instead, you roll that lineup.
10:38You roll a lesser lineup out there for load management purposes and you get your ass whooped
10:42eight to nothing or whatever it was.
10:44That was a no-brainer for me.
10:46Gave my boy Pete, gave him zero, zero run support in a game where he was pitching pretty
10:52well until, you can argue, Wills came off late.
10:57No Pena.
10:58Come on, man.
10:58Joe Espada.
11:01That's why I ain't buying no tickets, man.
11:03You're on the verge of me not even turning the damn TV on.
11:05That was an interesting decision to hold Paredes out of this game.
