00:00You can text in with your weekend's best.
00:02The best thing you've seen all weekend doesn't have to be sports-related.
00:05Or the worst thing you've seen all weekend doesn't have to be sports-related.
00:08I probably could have had my weekend's best on the last segment.
00:13Again.
00:15You're proud of yourself, aren't you?
00:16My 15 yards, man.
00:18You think you covered 15 yards?
00:20No, probably 12.
00:2112.
00:2212 in a tight space.
00:2312 in a tight space, baby.
00:25Flash.
00:25That ladder work, that ladder work got you.
00:27Had to get around Nicholas, too.
00:28I mean, it was an impressive.
00:34I'm still an athlete.
00:35Still in there.
00:36Still in there.
00:37But that could have been my weekend's worst, but I got another.
00:40Text yours in, and we'll try to read some that we see.
00:44All right, Clint, you kick it off.
00:46What's your weekend's best?
00:47What's the best thing you saw a weekend?
00:49Brian Abreu.
00:51Brian Abreu.
00:53I know I try to get away from what the Astros, the main deals here,
01:02but I can't get away from Brian Abreu right now, man.
01:06I mean, the fact that he went in there and got six outs,
01:10the fact that it was a high-leverage situation,
01:12the fact that Cam then goes out there and hits it off the wall
01:18and wins the game, I think that –
01:22I mean, I told you before, I feel sorry for the guy.
01:25So this is part of – for him as well as for me.
01:29And I know it wasn't pretty.
01:30I know there was – I think he hit a batter.
01:31I think he loaded the bases, got up with a double play.
01:33I think he – I mean, I know the error I saw was –
01:36it looked like 50 cents throwing it to first base.
01:40I thought he got fouled.
01:40It wasn't easy, but that makes it even better for me.
01:43It was like he – it wasn't like just go out there
01:45and get three straight punch-outs
01:46and then get a punch-out and a double play or something in the second.
01:49I mean, it was – he fought through some stuff in a high-leverage situation
01:52and came out all right on the other end of it, and we won the game.
01:55He needed that as bad as I've ever seen an Astros player needing something.
01:58I mean, he was in line with the last Abreu that we saw.
02:02Like, every time that dude didn't get a hit, I was like,
02:04God dang, he needs to come out of this funk, doesn't he?
02:06Like, I just felt sorry for him.
02:08So, I got to go – I got to go with Brian Abreu.
02:11And listen, I hope that this is something, as you said earlier,
02:20that kick-starts him and maybe he got some success.
02:23Honestly, I don't know – I don't know what level of success is success for him.
02:29The last time he pitched before that game, Clint, he did strike out the side.
02:34Now, he did give up a run, and he gave up two hits and two walks.
02:37But he did strike out the side, and maybe there was some positivity there
02:41because he seemed to be excited with striking out the side.
02:45And then this one – like, if you look at it, Clint, he goes two innings,
02:50one hit, no runs, one strikeout, one walk,
02:55and two innings of them kneeing him, that's a pretty good line.
02:59Now, mixed in there was an error he caused and a hit by pitch.
03:04And, you know, there were some other things in there.
03:06There were some struggles.
03:06There were some things in there.
03:07Now, the one thing for me is did he get put in that spot
03:12because they wanted to put him in that spot?
03:16This was the plan to put him in that spot to grab two innings?
03:19Or was this a situation of, hey, we have been using our bullpen a lot.
03:26We had a bullpen game, and we used guys the day before and the day before that,
03:30and we were kind of left with we've got to use him here.
03:33I mean, they could have probably found a different space to use him, Clint.
03:37Not at, hey, the end of the game here part of it
03:39because he could have obviously given up the loss
03:41when he pitched in the ninth and the tenth inning.
03:43So if this is a deal of, like, he's brought back into it, back into the fold,
03:47then that is a real big piece.
03:50Yeah, look, I'll be honest with you, it doesn't matter to me.
03:53I mean, it doesn't matter.
03:56Whatever situation that resulted in him being forced into that high leverage situation
04:03and having success, we needed it.
04:05We needed it desperately.
04:07I mean, if the Astros have any chance of making any noise this year at all,
04:14you're going to have to get a ton of guys healthy, no doubt about it.
04:16The bats are going to have to stay hot.
04:17Brian Abreu is going to have to factor into the eighth inning, seventh to eighth inning,
04:21something like that.
04:21He's going to have to be a piece that comes around
04:24and gets back to what he's capable of doing.
04:26And so that was just huge on the Astros' front right there.
04:29Again, I think we'll see in this series, do they put him out there in this series?
04:33Yeah.
04:34Like, is this an every fifth day or just last resort when we use him?
04:37So big for him, Brian Abreu, getting things done.
04:42All right, my weekend best.
04:44Shout-out to John Lopez, who won him some cash this weekend.
04:48All right, he was betting on that race at Churchill Downs, the Kentucky Derby,
04:56and he won Golden Tempo, who was, what was he, 23-1 odds.
05:00He was able to win.
05:02And Cherie DeVoe, I believe is how you say her name,
05:05she was the first female trainer to ever win the Kentucky Derby.
05:11And her celebration was full of energy and just out there.
05:18I mean, she's on the top of the thing, and she is just shaking and rocking
05:21and going and jumping.
05:23And I was like, go ahead, go ahead.
05:24So congratulations to her making history, making John the OG a little cash
05:32and upsetting everything at the Kentucky Derby.
05:35So congratulations, best thing I've seen, that celebration.
05:38Boy, I've watched it multiple times.
05:40I thought she was going to jump herself right over that railing.
05:42I'm not a huge, like, Kentucky Derby guy.
05:45Like, the horse races I need to be at.
05:47I did it a lot at Oak Lawn and Hot Springs, which, by the way,
05:49if anybody has any vacation urges, somewhere close to drive six and a half hours,
05:57that is a great trip to Hot Springs during the racing season.
06:01I'm not a huge, huge fan here, but I do love the post, really horse racing,
06:10but the post-Kentucky Derby for sure.
06:12When the camera is over the top of the track and it traces,
06:17like they put the highlight arrow on the horse that wins
06:21and he starts in the back if he comes from behind.
06:24Yeah.
06:24I love that angle.
06:26I don't know if you've seen that yet with this horse.
06:28He started from the back.
06:29I mean, it was wild.
06:31I mean, then the path that he had to take inside and kind of weave
06:34and then swing way outside and the ground that that horse can make up
06:38on a pack of horses like that is wild, man.
06:40So, yeah, that was a big shout-out to Cherie DeVoe.
06:44That was the first woman to ever do it, first female to ever do it.
06:47That's big.
06:48All right, what's your weekend's worst?
06:49Once again, I've got to stay right here.
06:51I've got to stay right here with our big pro sports.
06:53Hate to do it in this segment, Ron, but I've got to do it.
06:55The Rockets.
06:56And it's really my feeling of the Rockets this weekend.
07:01It's the fact that I wasn't even mad about it.
07:07I thought when the Rockets lost, it was going to be disgusting fashion
07:10and I was going to be disappointed.
07:12I mean, I don't know if I'm just numb to it or what exactly.
07:17Clint, you thought it was over after game two.
07:19You thought they might get swept.
07:20Yeah, but I think maybe it just set in for me, Ron, of what we're up against.
07:30I just don't think this is a quick fix.
07:33I don't think this is – I mean, short of firing the head coach
07:38and cleaning the house with the young guys and bringing in a bunch of –
07:41getting whatever you can in return for them.
07:43I don't know that this is a quick fix.
07:45I think the Rockets fan in me was hoping that these guys could keep the –
07:51have the identity of playing great defense and the gritty and the grind
07:54and all that to a level that you could win a series
07:56and you could come back from 3-0, at least take it to game seven,
07:59and to know that that was just a flash in the pan.
08:01I think I just as a fan, like, all of the wind was taken out of my sails
08:04and it wasn't because it was the performance.
08:06It wasn't the loss.
08:07You know what I mean?
08:08It was more like – I just don't think any of these guys are hit.
08:10I think you've got some good players, but I just don't think any –
08:15I don't think any of them are, like, key pieces to a championship-caliber roster.
08:24Yeah, maybe not the top ones.
08:27I mean, I just always said, you know, get me two through seven,
08:31get those guys right, and then go get your big superstar.
08:35I thought you had it, yeah.
08:36And I just – I don't know that we have a legit two.
08:39I think you've got some threes with some serious flaw in their game.
08:44I just – I feel like the wind was taken out of my rocket sail
08:48with that performance, man.
08:49All right, my weekend's worst is Jalen Brown.
08:53Jalen Brown of the Celtics, they not only gave up a 3-1 lead
08:58and lost to the 76ers and lost game seven at home,
09:02they – he then, the next day, Clint, went live on social with a video,
09:11and he had a video breaking down Joel Embiid's flops
09:16and all the calls that the refs blew in the series.
09:20Was it at least accurate?
09:22Some of it was.
09:24He called out Joel Embiid for robbing and said the refs needed to be investigated.
09:30Did a video of it.
09:31Did a video afterwards.
09:32Hey, man, you lost.
09:35Like, you lost.
09:36Don't sit around here and do a video.
09:37You just look.
09:38You just look super bad.
09:40And the worst part is – and I will just grab somebody like Tyler
09:44who doesn't watch basketball on a nightly basis, not the NBA like that.
09:49Tyler, if you just had to guess, why did the Boston Celtics lose this series?
09:54If you know the Boston Celtics.
09:56Probably because they missed an ish ton of three-pointers.
09:59Go look at the games and you can see how many threes they've made
10:02and how many they've missed.
10:03And it's been that way over the last three years.
10:06They won a title doing it, and then they've gotten themselves bounced out.
10:10They just kept shooting the damn things, and they just kept missing.
10:14And every time they lost in this series, which was four times,
10:18they shot terribly from the field from three.
10:21And when they won, they shot well.
10:23Some of there's some officiating stuff, sure, there.
10:25But you don't go on.
10:26You don't go on and have it mapped out and ready to go
10:30to then go talk about they should be investigated.
10:32Man, take your ass home.
10:35You got to be kidding me with that.
10:37I can't believe he did that.
10:38I can't believe he went and did that.
10:40I haven't seen it yet.
10:41He had his glasses on in there.
10:42It's about eight minutes.
10:43It's about eight minutes of it.
10:45It's about Joel Embiid flopping, and the refs needing to be investigated.
10:49Wild.
10:50Wild.
10:50You think he'll get fined?
10:52Probably.
10:52I think he just needs to keep that between himself.
10:54Yeah, yeah.
10:54Wild.
10:54Wild.
10:54I'll see you next time.
