31 January - National morning forecast presented by Alex Deakin.
Transcript
00:00Morning. It's a messy picture this weekend. There'll be some sunny spells. Most places
00:06will also see a little bit more rain and quite a bit of cloud. Certainly seen some heavy
00:10outbreaks of rain through the night. A swirl you can see here. That's an area of low pressure
00:14that's going to sit over us and dominate our weather. But it won't be raining everywhere.
00:19Parts of eastern England may well see some sunny spells. And with some shelter from this
00:23southeasterly wind again. Like it has been for much of the past week, western Scotland
00:28doing OK for dry and bright weather. Whilst eastern Scotland stays dull and stays damp
00:33with a bit more snow to come over the tops of the mountains. Showery rainfall most of
00:37the day for Wales and parts of northwest England. Some showers in the southwest, but generally
00:41things turning a little drier here compared to all the rain we've had over recent days
00:46and nights. Temperature-wise, close to the average for the end of January 7 to maybe 10 Celsius
00:52with a bit of brightness across the south. It certainly feels colder than that on some
00:55of those North Sea coasts with that nagging wind. Continues to feed in cloud and outbreaks
01:00of rain at times. We'll see some wet weather working its way into these eastern areas.
01:04After a largely dry day, eastern counties of England will see some rain through this evening
01:09and overnight. But generally tending to work its way out into the North Sea by dawn. A few showers
01:14then developing elsewhere. Some clearer skies developing over Wales and again western Scotland.
01:19But as the winds ease, it's likely to turn quite misty and quite murky. Quite a grey,
01:25drab start to February. Not especially colder. Temperatures mostly holding up at four or five
01:30degrees. Sunday's weather is still messy. There's quite a few showers around. A grey start for many
01:36eastern areas with some outbreaks of rain. We continue with a brisk wind and rain at times in
01:42the far northeast. Bit of a difference on Sunday for tomorrow. This weather-front ringing cloud
01:47and rain to Northern Ireland initially may brighten up later come the afternoon. That rain will push
01:52into western Scotland. So a different feel here certainly by Sunday afternoon. Some of that
01:56showery rain perhaps working back into Wales and northwest England. But generally things turning a
02:01bit drier and perhaps a little brighter as we go through tomorrow across a good part of England
02:05and Wales. Again can't promise huge amounts of sunshine generally staying cloudy. And generally
02:10those temperatures close to the average seven to ten degrees Celsius. There are developments in the
02:16Atlantic which means we are likely to see more wet weather as we go into next week. You want to
02:21keep up to date with that particularly across parts of the south and west. So stay up to date
02:26with the forecast. Best way to do that. If you're watching this on YouTube just hit subscribe.
