00:00Good morning. Changes are definitely on the way, but for many of us today will be another sunny one and
00:07probably the warmest day of the week also.
00:09We've already seen the clouds spilling into western areas, so a different day here.
00:14Some heavy showers around through parts of Northern Ireland, drifting up the western side of Scotland and a sprinkling of
00:19showers for Wales too.
00:20These likely to turn a bit heavier as the afternoon wears on.
00:23One or two showers possible across parts of southern England as well, but much of the southeast, the Midlands, East
00:28Anglia, northeast England and eastern Scotland will be dry with plenty of sunshine.
00:34It's the possibility, increasing chance of some heavier showers getting into parts of the Midlands in particular come this afternoon.
00:41Now the winds have been pretty brisk across the south through much of this week.
00:45A switch in wind direction though is bringing a different feel to things.
00:49It's still quite warm across these central and eastern areas, in fact probably the warmest day of the week, 25,
00:5426 in the London to Cambridge area.
00:57Not as warm further west because there's more cloud around as well, but particularly in the east on this east
01:03coast where that wind has been bringing a chill for much of the week from the North Sea.
01:06It will feel quite a bit warmer than it did yesterday.
01:09That's what this map is showing, temperatures compared to yesterday.
01:12So quite a bit warmer in the east.
01:14Notice how the change in wind direction also bringing a warmer feel in south Devon, whereas many other western areas
01:19with more cloud will be as warm as yesterday, but still probably feeling quite humid.
01:25With these heavy showers drifting north through this evening, still one or two downpours possible over northern England and southern
01:32Scotland before that all shifts out of the way through the night.
01:35Some lighter showers coming into northwest Scotland, otherwise many places will become dry through the night with lighter winds made
01:42it a bit misty and murky, but it shouldn't turn too chilly, quite warm and humid air in place.
01:47And that's how we start the weekend.
01:49So the weekend's going to be a messy mixture.
01:51Now for many it'll probably start dry and a large part of central and eastern England will be dry and
01:56fine throughout Saturday.
01:57But showery rain will be spreading into Scotland and Northern Ireland and the potential for some heavy thundery showers coming
02:04up through parts of Wales and southwest England.
02:06And then later in the day, all eyes down further south, where we could also see some heavy thundery showers
02:12drifting up as we head into the evening time.
02:14But as I said, for a good part of northern and eastern England, much of the day will be dry.
02:18Not as warm as today, but still feeling pretty warm and humid as we see those temperatures with a bit
02:24of hazy sunshine getting into the low 20s once more.
02:27Cooler, where we've got the cloudier conditions spilling in from the west and those heavy showers perhaps becoming a bit
02:33more widespread as we go through Saturday night and into Sunday.
02:36It is a messy picture, as you can see, from the pressure chart, but there is an area of low
02:41pressure sitting over us.
02:42That'll generate further heavy showers during Sunday and as it gradually pulls away.
02:46Monday looks drier for much of England and Wales, but notice cooler air is pushing in at the same time
02:52as well.
02:53So it will be turning a little fresher as we go through the long weekend.
02:57There will be some showers, but there will be some fine weather as well.
03:00The devil will be in the detail.
03:01So stay up to date.
