00:00Good morning. For those of us after a change in the weather, I can perhaps offer you something a bit less cold, a bit less wet this weekend, but it's far from a dry weekend.
00:12The showers already into parts of Wales and southern England will slowly drift northwards.
00:17We've still got this nagging wind feeding in the cloud and the rain into eastern Scotland.
00:22It does mean again that western Scotland, like it has been for most of this month, receiving some shelter, so largely dry and bright here and a drier day for Northern Ireland also.
00:32For England and Wales, you'll be dodging the showers. They'll be spinning around an area of low pressure.
00:38You can see the swirl there on the winds, but the winds coming up from the south, so trying to bring milder air.
00:43And although it's not especially mild, certainly a different wind direction for these coasts along the North Sea will make it feel quite a bit milder, I suspect, for southeast Scotland and northeast England, 7 to 9 degrees Celsius.
00:55Still, that wind will be noticeably bringing a chill to parts of northern Aberdeenshire and the Northern Isles.
01:01But elsewhere, it's slowly turning a bit milder.
01:03And in the south, between the showers, brightens up, could reach 10, 11, maybe even 12 degrees Celsius.
01:09As we go through Saturday nights, you'll notice the showers continue to spiral around, so nowhere can be guaranteed dry this evening.
01:17If you are heading out, the showers may well return to the east of Northern Ireland for a time, which again is one of those areas that's been particularly wet,
01:24along with eastern Scotland and the southwest of England.
01:28All areas likely to see some further showers during Saturday night and into Sunday morning with enough of a breeze, enough of cloud,
01:35and temperatures will be holding up at about 6 or 7 degrees Celsius.
01:39So not a cold start to Sunday, quite a grey start, a lot of mist and low cloud, certainly for England and Wales and outbreaks of rain across Scotland.
01:47That's where the main focus for the showers will be on Sunday.
01:50Notice we will get some, I suspect, into the west, which has, as I mentioned, been the driest part of the country over recent days.
01:57It's elsewhere, again, it may brighten up a little bit, some sunny spells, but we will see further showers coming in.
02:04Hard to pin down exactly when, exactly when.
02:07I'm hopeful that there won't be as many, so as I said at the start, something a little bit drier, perhaps during the course of Sunday,
02:13and maybe cheering up a little bit with a hint of sunshine here and there too, but generally staying fairly cloudy.
02:19But it will be turning a bit milder, temperatures in the south holding out at 10 or 11 degrees, but further north, more likely to be 8 or 9, perhaps even 10 degrees Celsius.
02:28And again, that wind is still noticeable across the far northeast, but elsewhere on the east coast, the wind changing direction should bring at least something of a milder feel.
02:37There is more cloud and rain lurking behind me out in the Atlantic that may well come into the early part of next week.
02:42But, you know, let's not worry too much about that at this stage.
