00:00Good morning, it's another sunny Sunday to come in many parts of the south, but a different
00:04story further north, quite a soggy morning in parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland and
00:09Northern England, courtesy of this slow-moving cold front that's going to be just drifting
00:12southwards as we go through the course of today.
00:15But the rain will gradually turn more showery and more intermittent as we go into the afternoons,
00:20so any heavier bursts tending to also die away as well, turning much brighter across
00:24many parts of Scotland with some sunny spells, but there will still be a few showers across
00:28the north, although nowhere near as windy or as wet as it was yesterday.
00:32On the cool side though, perhaps once again across northern parts of Scotland, but generally
00:36in the south, temperatures higher compared to yesterday, so the heat really building across
00:40the southeast of England, temperatures into the low 30s for some of us, and with light
00:45winds it will start to feel quite hot.
00:48Now across northern England and Northern Ireland, still the chance of a few showery outbreaks
00:51of rain even into the sea evening, but many places turning increasingly dry, a few showers
00:55perhaps persisting across northern and north-eastern parts of Scotland through the course of tonight
00:59as well, and staying quite breezy.
01:01But for most it will be a dry end to the night, and if we do see any fog patches,
01:06they're most
01:07likely down across the southwest of England.
01:09It's in the south then that we'll start to hold on to the heat after today's high temperatures,
01:13so temperatures not falling much below 16 to 18 degrees Celsius in the main towns and
01:18cities.
01:19But a fresher feeling night to come further north, temperatures widely falling into single figures
01:23across Scotland and Northern Ireland in the countryside.
01:27So Monday dawns on a dry note for many.
01:30The sunshine will quickly lift those temperatures, particularly in the south, and whilst there
01:33will be a bit of a build-up of clouds as we go through the course of the day, particularly
01:37across northern England and Scotland, many places will stay dry, just the chance of a
01:41few showers still affecting the very far northeast of Scotland, and here it will remain quite
01:46breezy and also a bit cool for the time of year.
01:49Feeling a little bit warmer, though, compared to today for Northern Ireland and Northern
01:53England in particular, with more on a way of sunshine.
01:55And despite temperatures in the south not being quite as high as today, we'll still reach
01:59the mid to high 20s quite widely, so it will still feel very warm indeed.
02:04Now temperatures are only set to rise even further as we go through the coming week.
02:08There's plenty of dry and sunny conditions on the way, high pressure dominating.
02:12Even across the north we'll start to see temperatures reach the mid-20s in Scotland and Northern Ireland,
02:18but it will be England and Wales that really once again see the peak of the heat.
02:22So temperatures here are expected to rise to the mid-30s Celsius, perhaps in the hottest
02:27spots by Wednesday and indeed on Thursday.
02:30And eventually we'll also start to see the humidities lifting as well, so some more uncomfortable
02:33nights for sleeping and some hot days are once again on the way.
