00:00Hello again. Some subtle shifts with the weather over the next 24 hours, but a continued wintry threat for sure.
00:08We continue to have Met Office yellow warnings in place for snow and ice.
00:11Now, the snow showers are easing away from the east coast of England and easing off in Wales and southwest England.
00:17Further flurries are possible here.
00:20Continued risk of snow over northern Scotland and for southern Scotland, northern England.
00:24You might just wake up to a covering here on Tuesday morning and things could get slippery in Northern Ireland as temperatures fall down below freezing.
00:32That won't be as cold for Scotland and Northern Ireland as we go through the night compared to Sunday night into Monday because there's a bit more cloud in here.
00:40But for England and Wales, for many places, a hard frost, minus three, minus four.
00:44That's towns and cities, rural spots, minus eight.
00:47And where we've got snow lying on the ground, well, we could even get to minus double digits.
00:51So a cold start to Tuesday and a continued risk of ice and snow in places.
00:57Now, the warnings look like this.
00:59Met Office yellow warnings.

01:04The heaviest snow through Tuesday likely across northern Scotland.
01:07The snow showers are easing in eastern England, but it could well be icy here Tuesday morning where we've seen the snow flurries.
01:13And the same goes for Wales and southwest England.
01:16Potential ice risk for Northern Ireland.
01:17And as I mentioned, southern Scotland, central Scotland, parts of northern England may wake up to a covering of snow as we see thickening clouds coming in here.
01:26But as this cloud is thickening, it is bringing milder air.
01:29So it's going to be a messy mix across Scotland.
01:32There will be some rain mixed in.
01:33Not everything is going to be snow, but certainly across northern Scotland, particularly over hills, further heavy snow as possible through the day.
01:40For Northern Ireland, we'll see some outbreaks of mostly rain coming in.
01:44That may well edge into northern England and parts of Wales later.
01:47Some snow here over the hills, but at lower levels, this will be more rain.
01:51And for a good part of England and much of eastern Wales, it's a dry, fine Tuesday.
01:56Some sunshine, but it will be staying on the cold side.
01:59Notice the winds shifting coming in from the west.
02:02Hence why it is slowly turning milder.
02:04But then in northern Scotland, the winds are switching back to a northerly.
02:07Hence why there's a continued risk of heavy snow here into Tuesday evening.
02:12And why temperatures struggle to get much above freezing.
02:15Whereas elsewhere, we should, certainly in western areas, see those temperatures a bit higher than they have been.
02:19Might even get up to the dizzy heights of seven or eight in the far southwest.
02:24Now, this zone of wetter weather will push southwards.
02:28Again, mostly rain at low levels.
02:31But some snow is possible over northern England, perhaps into the Midlands as we head into the first part of Wednesday morning.
02:37And there's the risk of some snow for a time over east Anglia and perhaps even the southeast through the early hours of Wednesday morning.
02:44But generally turning back to rain.
02:47Elsewhere, we'll see some clearer skies.
02:49And temperatures again will drop off.
02:51But it won't be as cold.
02:53In fact, large parts of England and Wales just about staying above freezing in urban areas.
02:58But it's still going to feel cold.
02:59The winds still coming in mostly from the north, bringing a chill and a continued likelihood of wintry showers in eastern Scotland, northeast England.
03:08Again, around coasts, mostly rain.
03:10But inland and over hills, there could well be some snow mixed in with that.
03:14For a good part of the country, though, Wednesday, again, dry and bright with some sunshine.
03:19Temperatures again below average, but a little bit higher than they have been to start the week.
03:23Notice behind me there's another zone of wet weather coming in.
03:28And as we go further ahead, we have to look out into the Atlantic.
03:32One week weather system kind of fizzles out as we go through Wednesday night and into Thursday.
03:37But later in the week, we do have to keep our eyes on this weather system developing as it approaches the UK.
03:42Quite a bit of uncertainty on its track.
03:44It could be further north.
03:45It could be further south.
03:46But how that interacts with the cold air sitting across the UK will determine the type of weather we see Thursday night and into Friday.
03:55It does have the potential for being disruptive.
