00:39good to be back in the bay for a few days and guys as usual there is always not just one or two things
00:47there's like 15 things with this team all the time so let's get into it yeah let's talk about uh the
00:54thing that's top of mind for everybody and it's pat spencer is it time to give steph curry some dnps
01:00mr dips pat spencer running around the floor the other night in philly and screaming on the the
01:11on that mf yeah was incredible but the key guys and the thing that absolutely cracked me up and
01:20showed that pat has the respect in that room is that the next couple days literally those guys are
01:27referring to pat in the locker room as that mf they're walking around and they're saying hey you
01:34know you're talking to that mf right and yeah everybody was smiling and feeling good but but they
01:40genuinely meant it because for a dude that has the background that pat does and to come in and play
01:47at the level that he is given the opportunity i think it's why it resonates with so many people
01:54and for his teammates to see him producing at the level that he is it just shows that they respect the
02:03journey that he's been on but everybody saw that clip it went viral it went all over the place
02:09to see the respect he has from his peers is pretty special yeah i i think that there's a lot going on
02:17here right and and in fact i want to play something for you and for everybody that pat said to stein and
02:23go because he was on about five hours ago on the station and that idea of when steph curry returns which
02:29i think is expected friday we'll ask you about that in a second here nick but when steph curry returns
02:34what happens to your role what's that conversation like with steve curry here's what pat said yeah he
02:40doesn't owe me a conversation uh we haven't we haven't chatted about it yet we got out of chicago
02:44um and then have you know a couple deserved days off we uh we've been traveling our butts off this
02:50year so we'll have practice tomorrow um so i'm you know we may may address it may not uh but ultimately
02:57you know my whole career has been built off of just staying ready so i'll be ready for whatever comes our
03:01okay he doesn't owe me a conversation what this makes me think of like go back to draymond going
03:09everybody has an agenda however that agenda needs to fit into the team concept sure pat has an agenda
03:16he would like to be confirmed as an nba player so that's his agenda but when you hear someone say
03:22on this warrior roster steve care doesn't owe me uh a conversation nick how does that resonate
03:30knowing all the other things that are also going on it's a huge reason why mark pat has the respect
03:39in the room it's a huge reason why when you play that clip and people start to learn more about pat
03:45spencer he's going to become so popular within the fan base the nba is full of egos they're full of
03:54agendas they're full of storylines there's always something going on pat busted his ass to get to
04:01this point in his career he's taken advantage of the opportunity that he's got in front of him
04:07and that type of story goes deeper than just a basketball team and of course the lacrosse stuff
04:15the way he got there that's impressive on its own but he's 29 years old i mean that's the other part
04:21to this i think that's what's so refreshing in general is his whole thing is i'm going to be
04:26ready to work and show up when my number is called his number finally got called a lot more in the last
04:33week we started to see it on that at florida trip in miami he played pretty well he's taking advantage
04:40of what's been given he's not expecting anything other than when he goes out there to light everybody
04:46up and his opportunity is right in front of him right now steph i would think comes back friday
04:53that's certainly the hope that the warriors have in what steve kerr has kind of discussed
04:59it depends on how he looks in practice the next couple days but pat has earned his way into that
05:05rotation and he's earned his way into minutes and mark to your point that's why this story especially
05:12with everything else going on on this team is resonating the way that it is so pat stays in
05:19and steph comes back theoretically on friday then who goes out is it just as simple as pods loses
05:25minutes and maybe buddy as well what do you see nick from the rotation going forward yeah i think that's
05:31what it boils down to dibs is it's probably pods is a little lesser and buddy is a little lesser i don't
05:39think either one of them are going to disappear though the guy that as the shakedown of minutes
05:44probably goes probably may find himself doing a little less in the the moment is will richard but
05:51they really like will richard i mean all of a sudden guys i remember talking last week it was like
05:56who's gonna be the guy who who is this person gonna be that can get everything together pat not only
06:03produced on the floor but i think his story and how he's gotten there and that clip right there
06:09about i'm gonna be ready when the the opportunity is called nobody owes me an explanation that game
06:15the other night in cleveland i think really set a bridge for this team when they badly needed it
06:23because on top of the fact that he played pretty well in philly they and they came all the way back
06:28from 24 they lost at the buzzer so they weren't feeling good they're coming into cleveland going
06:33oh man the calves are pretty good we still don't have steph we still don't have draymond they didn't
06:37have jimmy in that game and then they won and they won because they're getting contributions from all
06:44over the place so rotationally we'll see how it goes but in the span of a week pat spencer is playing
06:51well and has been a revelation buddy is starting to knock down shots melton who we haven't discussed yet
06:58has come back and looked pretty solid and you figure he's going to look a lot better two or three
07:02months from now than he does in the moment pods who so many fans are ready to write off has come
07:09off the bench and played really well so you have all these different layers and we still haven't even
07:14touched on the name that i know we're going to get to but it's later yep yep yeah all right so so let's

07:33mark everything's running so smoothly nothing's going to happen uh steve kerr has gone out of his
07:39way repeatedly after these last few games to say he just likes the way gee santos is playing and you
07:45can't argue it when you watch what's going on right now on the floor what is the difference
07:50the ball is moving all over the place and that is a different story because you don't have steph and
07:57you don't have dream on and we'll see how everything kind of changes in these next couple games as guys
08:02come back but right now nothing's going to change and i know that there's so much focus and the three
08:10of us have talked about it seemingly all season it's january 15th where i would just caution everybody
08:16is when has a trade ever ever ever just taken place on the day that it finally could take place
08:24i think everybody needs to buckle up here because this is probably way closer to two more months of
08:30will he or won't he then oh well january 15th is going to come and we're going to wave the wand and
08:37everything's going to be done i think kamingo has to play better when he gets the opportunity and it will
08:45come at some point as butler said he's not going to play every single game the next couple months
08:50there are going to be chances and it is better for jonathan kamingo and it's better for the warriors
08:55if everybody just continues to handle this as professionally as they can and mark what i would
09:01throw in there is kamingo talked the other night when we were standing there in chicago thought he
09:06handled the questions well that's all you can do in these moments i think the story is going to
09:12not disappear but it's not going to have as much edge over the next couple weeks if things stay the
09:18same where it's going to ramp up again is on january 15th and it's not going to go away until a move is
09:26made or they may not make a move because as we're talking about the kamingo thing let's also remember
09:30this you're the warriors with the way the guards are playing there was so much focus malik monk and the
09:36kings and blah blah what do you need another guard for right now things are clicking seth curry we
09:41haven't even mentioned him i mean he came in and started shooting pretty well so there are a lot
09:47of different layers in play but as far as the kamingo thing goes right now if he stays out of the
09:53rotation and the rotation seems pretty full especially getting stephan draymond back then everybody just
09:59has to handle what's in front of them and hope there is some sort of resolution here going into the
10:06deadline yeah 37 days until jk day as we have dubbed it which is january 15th and i i wonder nick if you've
10:13heard from your various nba sources about where his market value is is it going down is it still the
10:21same i mean have teams looked at him for four and a half years and thought they know who he is
10:26regardless of how this has gone it's in the eye of the beholder mr dibs and what i would tell you is
10:32there there's really two sides to this there are the people within the league that believe
10:39kamingo is a really really good player he hasn't gotten as much of an opportunity over the course of
10:46these four four and a half years and his best days are in front of him there is a whole nother side
10:52in the league that says if kamingo was so good we would have already seen it by now we would have seen
10:59more consistency because we all agree the athleticism is there there have been flashes
11:05of times where you go oh i i can see it you know in the playoffs last year i mean we know all the
11:10talking points but there are people in the league that are just like oh gosh i you know enough i i've
11:16had it on this whole narrative and as far as that goes i am just so tired of the day-to-day but as you
11:24guys well know even the fans that are sitting there going i don't want to hear about this anymore
11:28this is a gigantic story within the fan base it is huge it's backed up by people who listen people
11:37click on stories they are intrigued by this does that carry over across the league not nearly on the
11:45same level but there is an intrigue surrounding kamingo and from where i'm sitting guys i think
11:51especially within the fan base it's not even so much about kamingo anymore as it's this reality of
11:58kamingo was supposed to be the the guy who bridged or helped bridge between timeline a and timeline b and
12:06the two timeline thing so he represents a future that just may not be there the same way but when
12:13you watch him play at least this year when he played very well to start the season he was a starter
12:19and he got minutes when he did not play well he was taken out of the starting lineup he got hurt he
12:24came back he didn't get a lot of minutes because he wasn't playing well and so here we are one more
12:29time i think the likelihood is still that he gets moved but i don't think it is just some slam dunk
12:36that they want to get him out of here so bad that they're going to take back whatever they can so to
12:42sum all that up i think it's just a waiting game and we're going to have to see who out there in the
12:48league really believes that he can be what he and his whole side believes he can be in the future
12:55nick i got a couple of adjacent follow-ups on that number one uh jake fisher today wrote something
13:02that's sort of tied and this is just you know salaries match we'll see but it's sort of tied
13:07the kamingo situation with golden state and the milwaukee situation with miles turner i heard you
13:14on our morning show just last week be like no miles turner that's not that that's highly highly
13:20unlikely did is do you still stand there is miles turner a potential target for the warriors i mean
13:29in theory mark it makes plenty of sense but again like this is where where the fantasy of trades and
13:36the trade machine and the reality of what's actually out there are are clashing because if i thought that
13:44the warriors of mike dunleavy in that front office could go make some trade where they get a big man
13:49back and you go oh okay this works well sure but from where i'm sitting as i talk to people across
13:55the league i just don't see that there is a ton of interest there are teams that would say sure we'd
14:01like to have kamingo but guys this is what you all talk about all day every day as it pertains to this
14:06topic who is out there and what are they going to give back to make it happen and this is where
14:14everybody needs to take a deep breath as we get into where the deadline is going to be because again
14:19i think there it's far more likely that he eventually gets moved but the warriors are not going to sit
14:27there and just be like hey we've had it so much that we're just going to get rid of this whole ordeal and
14:33it's going to be over something has to make them want to make it happen and i don't think just
14:40getting him off the roster is going to do it i'm curious about this too um maybe it's no big deal
14:45but um his agent um is you know it's been a thing all summer and then uh last week when jonathan
14:53doesn't play in the fourth quarter we get a what are we doing out here on twitter do the warriors view
14:59his agent as a problem i i think it's an irritant more than a problem mark and it's been irritating
15:06and frustrating for plenty of people within the organization since going back to the summer i mean
15:12i i remember talking to people after he did that interview with steiny and goo and they're like dude
15:18this guy just went on the radio for an hour on the floor on the radio and all you hear all these
15:25balls bouncing all over the place i understand what he's doing for his client that is his job but
15:31if the question is has he frustrated people within absolutely everybody just kind of tired of the
15:38whole saga but this is the issue jonathan cominga and his agent and those close to him they believe
15:45that he can be a star in the league credit to him for having that belief up to this point in his
15:51career we have not seen that and the consistency isn't there and and that's why if you're looking
15:58at this objectively i understand where the warriors are coming from because they're saying hey
16:04prove it show it i mean kerr said it as much when he was talking about buddy healed the other night and
16:10he had that quote from ron adams it's a show me league if you believe you are so good then it would
16:16be there night after night after night that is the difference with really good players in the league
16:22and great ones because good players can show you on occasion that they can drop 30 or they can make a
16:28difference in several different ways players that think they're great but haven't shown that are the
16:35ones that really have the belief but they don't have the consistency to back up their game and right now
16:41at 23 fifth year in the league i think cominga is one of those guys that just has not gone out and
16:48shown it and you could say well he's not been in the right situation okay but this is a situation that
16:53presents itself right now and if you want to prove it in the league and make it no matter what situation
16:59you're in you can be a difference maker every single night and that had just hadn't been the case for
17:04him so far throughout most of this year and can you be a difference maker even when your
17:09offensive game is not flourishing on that particular night and i think that's where
17:13a lot of the frustration comes and that's kind of leads me to buddy healed you mentioned him before
17:18what do you think is the situation with buddy right now is it just a prolonged shooting slump or
17:24is this kind of the buddy that we should come to expect well mr dibbs buddy just hadn't played well
17:31throughout most of the year i think in these last couple of games he's had his moments where he's
17:35knocked down shots but this is where you finally have all this depth on the roster and in theory
17:42you're getting uh all your veterans back that in the next couple weeks this should be just about as
17:48full uh as it has been if buddy healed doesn't start making more shots buddy heals not gonna be on the
17:54floor and and there's a chance depending on whatever move they make uh that not only may he may not be on
18:00the floor he may not be here uh in the long term anyway so buddy has got his opportunity i think
18:06he's well liked in the room he's gotten plenty of looks that are open he's just got to knock them down
18:13and if that doesn't happen they're going to find somebody else to plug in for those minutes uh nick good
18:18luck with the uh with the laundry and uh getting the uh the refrigerator restocked uh best of luck with it
18:24all keep us posted guys i can't wait to see what next week brings because i thought for a second
18:31that uh when we talked last week like oh boy it's it's gonna start to come apart on this trip
18:37when they go two and one they probably should be three and oh because they could have won that philly
18:41game and i'll leave you with this if you look at the schedule and you see them really getting healthy
18:47there is no reason to believe that they can't get up and running really fast now yeah this is their
18:55moment to go on a on a on a run and get all these wins because they're not playing a lot of tough teams
19:01they're at home for a great deal of the next two months this is the time so no matter what else is
19:07going on i firmly believe i know they've been up and down all year i know they haven't played the level
19:13of their competition a lot i think the warriors are going to get on a nice little stretch here
19:18where they're piling up wins and then we all reconvene in a few weeks when the trade deadline
19:23hits and see what mike dunley and that staff do love it love it let's see uh let's see if it goes
