00:00All right, weekend's best, weekend's worst.
00:05I'll start with my weekend.
00:08I'm going to go worst.
00:09I'll start my weekend's worst.
00:13Kevin Stefanski.
00:16What was that?
00:19My man's fool's Shadur Sanders, who, listen, he made a critical mistake on a bad pick.
00:27But he is what?
00:28I think threw three touchdowns, ran one in, or threw two touchdowns, ran one in.
00:32No, it's three.
00:33Threw three, ran one in.
00:33Yeah, that's right.
00:34He threw the last one.
00:35A four-total touchdown, 370 yards.
00:36Yeah.
00:37Here you go.
00:37Down two.
00:39Two-point conversion.
00:41Right?
00:41In previous drive, he had run one in when the play broke down for about 10 yards out.
00:46Here we go.
00:48Hey, Shadur, I want you to come off the field here.
00:52Let's run this wildcat that we've been doing all the time.
00:55And then try to do a reverse.
00:57Mind you, the person he tried to do the reverse with is somebody that hadn't really practiced it
01:05because their other player was injured with a concussion.
01:08So this was somebody else that wasn't really the person they had practiced this play with.
01:14And they take Shadur off the bench, and they end up losing to the Titans.
01:18And, I mean, just the worst.
01:21Just the worst.
01:22And that whole handling of the situation.
01:26And, listen, I'm sure Kevin Stefanski is a good guy.
01:29But he just, there continues to just be coincidences that make it seem like,
01:34what in the hell is going on around there?
01:36Like, it is hard for me to be convinced, like,
01:39man, he's 100% about the best interests of the team and the players.
01:43Well, the one good thing, Ron, is he's been consistent.
01:46But, I mean, let's be honest.
01:48I mean, they've all been bad since he's been there.
01:50How many quarterbacks have they been through, you know?
01:52Yeah.
01:52And what a day.
01:53I didn't watch the game, but what a day for that defense that typically,
01:57or at least has the ability to wreck shop to not wreck shop.
02:00Quarterback scores four touchdowns and throws three 70s.
02:04And you can't win behind that.
02:05Yeah, that's wild, man.
02:06Yeah, but for him to not at least be on the field for the two-point conversion
02:10was just wild.
02:12Wild to me.
02:14For me, man, Ron, I've always, I hate the thought of taking my quarterback
02:19off the field in critical situations.
02:21Absolutely hate it.
02:22I got a guy out there that I believe in leading my team.
02:24This is my guy.
02:25This is my face.
02:26This is my leader.
02:27The voice of my squad.
02:28Games on the line.
02:29He just threw a dot.
02:30Games on the line.
02:31I'm still on the sideline.
02:32I mean, I got something creative I want to get out there.
02:34Yeah, that's what he wanted to go.
02:36Right now to go get it.
02:37So that's my weekend's worst.
02:38What's your weekend's worst?
02:39Well, my weekend's worst has to do with what you mentioned a little earlier,
02:43college football playoffs.
02:44And actually, more specifically, it has to do with conference championships.
02:50Unfortunately, I think conference championships are going to be a thing of the past.
02:56And I think it's unfortunate.
02:58I'm not going to sit here and tell you,
03:00I don't know the right way to handle conference championships.
03:04But I know playing for an SEC title, playing for a Big 12 championship,
03:10playing for a Big 10 championship, I know that should mean something.
03:14And the fact that the college football playoff committee, you know,
03:18just can't figure out a way to either make those games mean something,
03:22make everybody else play one game like Vanderbilt has been petitioning to.
03:26So everybody plays the same number of games and you evaluate them just like you do anything else.
03:31Or they just don't mean anything.
03:33And the final standings the week before the college football playoffs are what they are.
03:38But, boy, the college football playoffs was bad this weekend with JMU and Tulane getting in.
03:48But, boy, the conference championships, I think, are the big loser here, Ron.
03:51And, I mean, I think there's a real chance that we see these guys do away with conference championships.
03:56It was definitely going to be one if Alabama didn't get in.
03:59Yeah.
03:59If Alabama didn't get in and got punished for playing another game, that definitely would have been.
04:03Well, you got what's going on with Notre Dame.
04:05Well, it's not just the conference championships, but it's also how they determine who gets there.
04:08Like, Duke should have never been in that game.
04:10Never been in that game.
04:11Right, right, correct.
04:12And I think Notre Dame would have gotten in if Miami was in that game and they were the champions.
04:17Well, it's easier to say, you know, no more championship games than it is to figure out what to do with Notre Dame,
04:24who's not in the conference, and there is no conference championship game, right?
04:28Who, by the way, I don't know if y'all saw that, but I believe they signed a contract with the college football playoff committee
04:33that if they're in the final 12, they're automatically in.
04:35They get an automatic bid.
04:36Yeah, yeah, that's it.
04:37That's odd, isn't it?
04:38It's a bit odd in my opinion.
04:39But I don't know all the details, so I'll wait to flush it out.
04:44But conference championships, man, I just think Texas Tech blows the doors off of BYU.
04:51Georgia blows the doors start to finish off of Alabama.
04:55You know, you look up the Ohio State-Indiana game was a tremendous game.
04:58Indiana, they proved they've got the horses, I think, to compete,
05:02whereas last year I don't think they had the horses.
05:03This year they do.
05:05So I just think we've seen the last of conference championships.
05:09All right, weekend's best.
05:11I'm going to change mine because you just brought that up.
05:14But LeBron was sensational last night, so I'll change mine from LeBron.
05:19I mean, just down the stretch, big shots back at it, 29 points last night.
05:24But you talked about the conference champions.
05:27I do want to give a shout-out to Indiana.
05:29Kurt Senzetti, that is deep.
05:32I used to think Bill Snyder was the best coaching job, how he resurrected K-State.
05:38What he's done this fast, I don't care about how the transfer portal,
05:43there's still some Indiana getting guys in before.
05:46He got a lot of those James Madison kids that are there,
05:49and they are the number one seed Big Ten champions.
05:54Tyler, when were you born?
05:55What's your date of birth?
05:571990.
05:57They hadn't beat Ohio State since 88.
06:02Tyler just turned 35.
06:03They hadn't beat Ohio State since 1988.
06:06And they play often.
06:08They play every year up in the Big Ten.
06:10So that turnaround is, I heard Urban Meyer say it,
06:16the best turnaround in the history of college football.
06:18And it is.
06:20Insane what he's been able to do.
06:22And they've had multiple quarterbacks.
06:23A via Scott Van Pelt.
06:26Indiana had the all-time lowest winning percentage in college football history
06:29when Kurt Signetti arrived.
06:31When he got on the mic at Assembly Hall and started saying everyone in the Big Ten sucked,
06:36I thought they hired a crazy man.
06:38This is crazy.
06:38Incredible turnaround.
06:40Salute Hoosiers.
06:41Yep.
06:41I mean, that's...
06:41Now they have the second.
06:42From literally the worst to...
06:43Second worst.
06:44Now they got the second worst.
06:45Since he's in his two years.
06:46Yeah.
06:47That's insane.
06:48All right, your weekend's...
06:49I'm going to go my weekend's best.
06:51I'm going to go with Texas Tech linebacker.
06:53Jacob Rodriguez.
06:55I don't know if y'all saw this, but on College Game Day,
06:56one thing that Pat McAfee has done is he ain't afraid to give away several hundred thousand dollars
07:02on one episode of College Game Day.
07:05They're interviewing Texas Tech linebacker Jacob Rodriguez on the field during warm-ups.
07:09His own warm-ups it is.
07:11And he's got the earpiece in.
07:12And Pat McAfee says, hey man, if you can hit the uprights,
07:18I'll give you $250,000 to donate to a military foundation of your choice.
07:23And he just cool, calm, collected.
07:25He said, oh yeah, I'm cool with that.
07:26Where are you going to throw it from?
07:28He said, how about the 20?
07:29And he center punches that damn crossbar from the 20-yard line.
07:32If you hadn't followed, this is a great story.
07:34Texas Tech is a great story overall, especially if you're a Texan.
07:38But the story of this linebacker Jacob Rodriguez is a really cool story.
07:43His wife apparently is a Blackhawk helicopter pilot in the military.
07:48And she gets a chance to come to every game.
07:51He goes over, hugs and kisses her, yada, yada, yada.
07:54So that's kind of the tie of the military foundation that he's donating to.
07:57But for a linebacker to just go, hey yeah, man, cool, I'm good with it.
08:01And then he bangs it off the upright and goes over there and celebrates with his guys.
08:06Hell, I think you ought to draft the guy right now.
08:08Linebacker can throw it off the upright, cool, calm, and collected the whole time for 250 stacks.
08:13He caught us off guard.
08:13Because during game day, he was talking, he made a mistake in his words.
08:20But he said, yeah, me and my wife, we've been married 10 years.
08:24I said, 10 years?
08:26Man, you're like 22 years old.
08:30He meant to say 10 months.
08:31Oh, 10 months.
08:32But he said 10 years.
08:34Multiple times.
08:35I said, there ain't no way.
08:37All right, what you got coming up?
